Example Task 1

The document discusses the impact of digital technology over the past 30 years, highlighting both positive and negative effects. On one hand, technology has made communication and tasks like banking more convenient, reducing the need for physical presence. On the other hand, it has contributed to social isolation and a decline in genuine human interactions, leading to a less happy and more unsocial lifestyle.

Today we can see how digital technology has developed in 30 years. Life
routines were completely different in the old days, but have you ever thought about
the results of this development? According to my idea there are some good and bad
effects of computers and other kinds of digital technology.

One hand, distances aren’t important. We can easily contact anybody. For
example you can see your family on Skype and you can meet with them. If you want
to do your job, you don’t need to go to the office. Just you need a computer or even
a mobile phone, and sure an internet connection. You don’t have to go to the bank
to pay bills. Almost all the banks have a mobile bank application now, but 20 years
ago it wasn’t like this, you have to wait in a line, maybe more than an hour for paying
your bills. Also If you have any kind of screen you don’t need paper. Today we can
read books with e-book technology as a result we don’t need to cut the trees for
books. These are good sides of this development.

However, with these technologies we are moving away from real life. We don’t
meet with people in real life. People are getting lonelier. For example a child might
play computer games more than 6 hours in a day, and parents make this normal.
Also parents can be the same. Relationships are getting faker. Computers are make
us stupid and lazy. We are watching videos from Tiktok all day for entertainment,
sending messages from Whatsapp but actually we are not as happy and social as
old times.

In conclusion, digital technology has some benefits as making life easier

although it causes some problems which makes people unhappy and unsocial.
People should be aware to these effects while using digital technology.
