OPENING STATEMENT -Drishti

“Ideas are the beginning points of all the fortunes” This Powerful quotation by Napoleon Hill is
a great reminder that sharing of ideas is the foundation of progress and innovation.
An incredibly beautiful morning to each one of you present here. Your presence here today
marks your commitment to transform all the imaginations to a reality. It is a new day, a fresh
start, fresh energy, and new opportunities. As the sun rises today, we should remind ourselves
that we have gotten yet another day to improve upon ourselves.
On this positive note, I, Drishti and I,Aaliya are delighted to be your hosts for this wonderful
day. I would like to welcome you all to the very first edition of TEDxKiroriMal College with the
theme ‘VIDYOSTAV’: The culture of enlightenment. This prestigious institution has marked a
plethora of historic events and the TedxKMC society cannot be more honored to add in to the
legacy of this highly reputed college of University of Delhi.

LIGHTNING OF LAMP - Aaliya

To begin with I would like to acknowledge the presence of our patronage, our principal sir, Prof.
Dinesh Khattar, none of this would have been possible without sir’s constant support. We
welcome you sir, I would request you to kindly come forward for the Lightning of lamp. I also
request the esteemed guests present here along with the faculty members to come forward for
lamp lightning.
“Light is a symbol of brightness and prosperity as sunlight expels the darkness of night.
Similarly, blessings bring in our life prosperity and happiness”. In the right light, at the right
time, everything is extraordinary.”
The flame symbolizes the light of spirit, knowledge, and life, contributes to a superior
performance, and instills positive influence on mental and physical conditions. The flame is a
manifestation of the positive values that man has always associated with the symbolism of
burning lamps.
May the light glow to ensure the success of this magnificent event.

ABOUT TEDxKMC and Theme - Drishti

TedxKiroriMalCollege is an independently organized event, which draws its inspiration from the
global ted talks initiative and hosted by the prestigious Kirori Mal College of the University of
Delhi. The events mission is to bring the essence of Ted’s “IDEAS WORTH SPREADING’ to the
local community and especially our students present right here. Our ultimate goal is to spark a
positive action and cultivate meaningful conversations that extend both within and beyond the
Kirori Mal College Community.
This year our Theme VIDYOSTAV, the culture of enlightenment, looks to ignite a passion for
learning, creativity and innovation among students, educators and the broader community.
Derived from the Sanskrit word ‘VIDYA’ (knowledge) and ‘UTSAV’ (celebration), the word
Vidyotsav embodies a dynamic celebration of knowledge, ideas, and achievements. Here are a
few lines highlighting its role as the ultimate illuminator of truth, wisdom and progress.

Today, we are about to embark on an incredible journey filled with inspiring ideas and thought-
provoking talks. To kick things off, we have the honour of inviting someone who has been a
tremendous support to all of us— our principal, Prof. dinesh khattar sir.
He embodies the spirit of innovation and leadership, encouraging us to pursue our passions and
think critically.

We would like to thank the department of Economics of our college for their support in the
inception of Tedx chapter at KMC. The Tedx Faculty team has constantly guided us in our
initiatives, fostering an environment where innovation and creativity can flourish. Our heartfelt
thanks to our convenor, Dr. Neha Verma, our co-convenor, Dr. Pratibha Madan and Faculty
advisors, Dr. Niti Khandelwal Garg, Ms. Chitra. Verma and Mr. Siddharth Chandra.
Please join me in extending a warm welcome to Dr. Neha Verma as she opens our TEDX event

In our first session, we have the privilege to have with us Ms. Yahhve Sharma and Ms. Neha
Agarwal. Ms. Yahhve Sharma is an Indian actor recognized for her fantabulous performance in
the film Operation Mayfair. Her presence in the industry is a gem to the country. Additionally,
she featured in a music video performed by Sonu Nigam sir. Her lores extend to her graceful
walk at the 2023 runway at the Bombay Times Fashion Week. She also stands as an inspiring
icon to us today as she raised her voice in support of justice, equality and freedom in the
matters of global affairs. I request Principal Sir to welcome mam with a token of appreciation.

Aaliya
Ms. Neha Agrawal is the founder of 'Mathematically Inclined,' who has taken her passion for
mathematics to extraordinary heights, making complex concepts accessible and engaging for
students all over the world. Through her popular online platform, she has empowered
countless learners, particularly those preparing for challenging exams such as IIT-JEE and NDA,
helping them overcome their fears and master the subject.
Her approach to teaching is not only innovative but also deeply inspiring. With a blend of
technology and pedagogy, Neha ma’am has successfully brought education into the digital era,
proving that learning can indeed be enjoyable and transformative. I now request Principal Sir to
welcome Neha Mam with a token of appreciation.

7. Frappe Ashe – Drishti

Up next we are beyond grateful to have Frappe Ash amongst us. Frappe Ash was born out of his
love for Frappe coffee, Its icy and chill, and so is he. Ash was his stage name when he initially
started rapping and, of course, because of his love for Pokemon. Like his fun take on his name,
his music displays a raw, unparalleled take on life. His stage name has now become a trademark
for every budding artist to make a name in Hip-Hop. Frappe takes pride in coming from a small
middle-class army family in Dehra Dun because it taught him to still be humble and motivated
him to work harder to expand the Hip-Hop culture from the mainstream metropolitan cities to
smaller cities and towns. His albums are like a mirror reflection of himself to the world, his
flaws, his values, and the best and worst of him. His lyrics, instrumentals, and music videos
charmingly blend, creating a chronicle. He recommends that younger artists keep making
music, stay consistent with their dreams and express themselves.
