between DGR-RBH Station on 08-09-2023

SN Observations Action taken by
1 Inspection of SQRS base depot at Panagarh (PAN):
(i) At Base Depot, PRC sleepers released from CTR(P) work site have been
umped in huge quantities occupying important space (approx. 10,600
nos. 60 kg and 35,000 nos. 52 kg PRC sleepers). Sr. DEN/3/ASN stated
that 3060 nos. 60 kg released sleepers are being sent through BRN
wagons to SSE/PW/TOP. Balance sleepers need to be disposed off from
site. It may also be offered scrap for sale as space is needed for smooth
working of SQRS at base depot.
(ii) At Base Depot approximately 35 nos. manpower were deployed for the
fabrication of the panels. Daily progress of Fabrication of panels at base is Sr.DÉN/C/ASN
30 to 35 Nos.

(ii) Each panels are of 11.40 m length, approximate weight of each panel is
7.68 tonnes. The base has 3 Nos. Portal Cranes arranged by the contractor ADEN/DGR
the fabrication of panels.
(iv) Condition of tracks in the siding are not good, no ballast and covered with
vegetation and no proper drainage arrangement. All. the lines should be
attended on priority.
2 CTR (P) work with SQRS is presently in progress on DN-1 of KAN-UDL section
under ADEN/DGR section.
Scope of. Work:
() KM 120/700-127/700 between KAN-GLI (Khana & Galsi) on DN-1.
(ii) KM 140/000-143/000 between MNAE-PAJ (Mankar & Paraj) on DN-1. [Link]/C/ASN
(i) KM 156/000-160/000 between PAN-RBH (Panagarh&Rajbandh) on DN-1.
(iv) KM 163/000-169/000 between RBH-DGR (Rajbandh & Durgapur) on DN-1. [Link]/3/ASN
CTR(P) Work was started from 26.07.2023 and progress till 07.09.2023 was ADEN/DGR
following:
(v) 5.50Track Km completed in PAN-RBH Section on DN-1
(vi) 2.00 Track Km work completed in RBH-DGR Section on DN-1, work is in
progresSs in this stretch.
(vii) The progress of CTR(P) by SQRS in August month was 5.5 Tkm. Division
have been doing -the. work 3 days in a week normally on Wednesday
Friday and Sunday with assured traffic block of 4 hrs. We need to continue
the work with this planning.
3 Material status at site:
(i) Rails (260 m Long Panels): Available 10.40 Track Km. Further
requirement: 4.50 Track Km.
(ii) PSC Sleepers (Wider Base RT-8746): Available: 2712 Nos. Further [Link]/C/ASN
requirement: 21,580 Nos. out of which release Order issued: 13,100 Nos.
Balance RO required: 8580 Nos.
(iiD) ERC Mark-V, Available: 17,340 Nos., further requirement: 76,800 Nos.
[Link]/3/ASN
(iv) GRSP (RT-8747), Available: 8670 Nos. Further requirement: 38,400 Nos. ADEN/DGR
(v) Metal Liner (RT-8748), Available: 17340 Nos., further requirement: 71,850
Nos.
(vi) GFN Liner (RT-8751), Available: Zero Nos. Further requirement: 4950 Nos.
Note: Material Requirement is,for KM 164/320-163/110, KM 143/000-140/000
and KM 127/700-120/700.
4 Rake Formation of-5QRS in Block
() Diesel Power.
(i) Machine Camping Coach/Rest Van with spares, tools & plants, etc.
(ii) Machine BFR. [Link]/C/ASN
(i) 15 Loaded BFRS with panels stacked in 3 layers, 45 Nos. of Panels.
(iv) 16" BFR With one panel, taking total in block to 45+1 = 46 Panels. [Link]/3/ASN
(v) 17th BFR Empty. ADEN/DGR
(vi) 2 Nos. Simplex Make Portal, i.e. SORS (Simplex Quick Relaying System)
have been utilised for the work with a carrying capacity of 12 tons each.
5 Labour Availability
[Link]/C/ASN
On 08.09.2023 about 275 Contractual Labour was working, with 30 for [Link]/3/ASN
Auxiliary Track Work (pre-work), 80 Nos for working in block, 55 Nos in rail ADEN/DGR
changing and thebalance in other miscellaneous pre-post work.
6 Details of Block & progress:
Traffiç Block was granted from 13:35 - 17:45 Hrs ( 250 Min) with effective block
appróx. 190 mins. [Link]/C/ASN

46 Nos. of Panels laid from 166/30-166/12, 166/952-166/432 & 520 Track ADEN/DGR
Meter Rail have also been changed from 166/30-166/12,
166/952-166/432.
Safety at work site:
() 50 kmph Speed Restriction was imposed on UP-1, DN-2, i.e. the adjacent
lines with Frequent Whistling Caution orders. [Link]/C/ASN
(i) 4 Nos. Hooters were at available at site. [Link]/3/ASN
ADEN/DGR
(iii) Intermediate Banner Flags were kept as the work site was on a 1.12-degree
Curve.
(iv)Lookout men were deputed at 1200 m with HS FIlags, Banner Flags at 600 m
and at the site.
(V) No Gas cut rails were laid on track. Chamfering kit was available.
KM 166/29-31 on UP-1, at isolated locations crack in PSC sleepers were noticed. [Link]/C/ASN
These sleepers to be replaced with the good condition PSC sleepers released [Link]/3/ASN
from the adjoining CTR(P) work of DN-I. ADEN/DGR
Sleeper Spacing of newly laid track was checked near LC gate-111/SPL/E KLK [Link]/C/ASN
end and spacings have been found 600 mm. However, sleeper spacings at [Link]/3/ASN
isolated locations need to be rectified. ADEN/DGR

At LC-1112/SPL/E 168/12-14 & LC-111/SPL/E 166/32-167/02. It was observed [Link]/C/ASN
that PSC sleepers in the LC gate lOcations was not renewed for want of wider [Link]/3/ASN
base spl. PSC sleepers for LC gate (RT-8969). This is to be done on priority. ADEN/DGR
The length of speed restrictions imposed was reviewed. It was observed that the [Link]/C/ASN

stretch of 30 kmph can be reduced by organising two sets of welders in the [Link]/3/ASN
shadow block. Similarly, deployment of tamping machine should be organised to ADEN/DGR
relax the speed faster.
