*The ability of an organism to produce antibodies to fight off infections

Two types of immunity


Natural Immunity- acquired at birth, you're born with it.
Aquired Immunity - type of immunity that is got by vaccines and immunization.

Two Types of Responses


Passive response-1st line of defense that prevents pathogens from entering the body
(E.g Skin, thick buck of woody plants)
Active response-2nd line of defense in which the body fights against pathogens that have already entered
(E.g white blood cells)
