Statistics – Easy Notes

1. Null Hypothesis (H■)

It means there is no change or no difference. We assume this is true at first.

2. Significance Level (α)

It is the chance of making a wrong decision. Usually taken as 5%.

3. Critical Region
It is the region where the null hypothesis is rejected.

4. Type I Error
Rejecting a true null hypothesis.

5. Type II Error
Accepting a false null hypothesis.

6. Standard Deviation
It shows how much the data values differ from the average value.

7. Statistical Hypothesis
A statement about a population that can be tested using data.

8. Test of Significance
It helps us decide whether the result is meaningful or due to chance.

9. Hypothesis
An assumption made before testing using data.

10. Level of Significance

It shows how strict the test is (usually 0.05).

11. Confidence Interval

It gives a range in which the true value is expected to lie.
