August 20 – Orientation Day
Our first meeting with Doctor Depalubos was both exciting and insightful. She introduced herself
warmly and explained what we would be doing for the semester. One of the things that caught my
attention was the Reflection Project and the Interview activity on the school that we will be assigned
that we would be completing in which our group picked Tertiary Institution. I realized that this subject
would not only focus on theories but also on our personal experiences as students. The orientation
helped set the tone for what was ahead in our journey.
As I listened to Doc D, I felt curious about how the reflection activities could help me understand
myself better. It seemed like a great opportunity to connect learning with real-life experiences. She
also provides us with the content that we should include on the reflection papers that must be
submitted at every half of semester. I appreciated how she encouraged us to think deeply and
express our thoughts honestly. It made me reflect on how self-awareness can improve not just our
learning but also our character. Overall, the orientation motivated me to start the class with an open
mind.
This day taught me the importance of preparation and expectation-setting. Meeting our teacher and
classmates helped me feel more comfortable in the learning environment. I also learned that
reflection plays a big role in education because it allows us to look back and grow from our
experiences. The activities introduced made me excited for the upcoming lessons. It was a simple yet
meaningful start to our class journey.
September 1 – Creative Self-Introduction
This day was fun and full of creativity because we had our Creative Self-Introduction activity.
Everyone got the chance to introduce themselves in unique ways. I enjoyed learning about my
classmates’ personalities, talents, and interests. It was a great way to break the ice and build
confidence in speaking in front of others. I felt proud of myself for participating and showing who I am.
Samantha and I came up with the idea of altering the lyrics of “The Show” to creatively introduce
ourselves.
We were also given our first reflection entry, which made me think about how important it is to
express ourselves honestly. The activity helped me see that every person has a story to tell and
something special to share. It reminded me that confidence grows when we embrace our uniqueness.
Sharing my story allowed me to connect with others on a deeper level. It was not just an introduction,
but also a way to celebrate individuality.
This day taught me that creativity and communication go hand in hand. Being able to speak
confidently and creatively can help us build stronger relationships with others. I learned that it’s okay
to be nervous as long as I try my best. The experience also improved my self-esteem and
appreciation for others. It was a meaningful start to expressing myself freely in class.
September 3 – Five Love Languages
During this meeting, we discussed the Five Love Languages, which was very interesting and
relatable. It made me realize that everyone expresses and receives love differently. Knowing these
love languages helps us understand people’s needs better. The discussion made me reflect on how I
show appreciation to my family and friends. It was eye-opening to see how this topic connects to real-
life relationships.
We also continued our Creative Self-Introduction, this time with Samantha. Working with her made
the activity more enjoyable and helped me learn teamwork. We supported each other in expressing
ourselves confidently. I appreciated how we respected each other’s ideas and learned to
communicate effectively. It reminded me that collaboration brings out the best in every person.
This day helped me improve my understanding of emotional intelligence. Knowing about love
languages doesn’t just apply to romantic relationships, it’s also about friendship and communication.
It showed me that being kind and thoughtful is part of good communication. I realized that empathy is
an important skill, especially for future teachers like us. The lesson inspired me to value connection
and understanding in every interaction.
September 8 – SMART Goals
On this day, we discussed SMART Goals, which stands for Specific, Measurable, Achievable,
Relevant, and Time-bound. This lesson helped me understand how to set clear and realistic goals for
myself. I learned that goals become more attainable when they are well-defined and planned. It made
me think about what I truly want to achieve in school and in life. The discussion motivated me to
become more organized and focused.
Samantha and I worked together to create a flower-themed graphic organizer for our SMART Goals.
We designed each petal to represent one element of the SMART criteria. It was a fun and creative
way to visualize our dreams and make them more meaningful. Through this activity, I realized that
goals are like flowers—they grow when nurtured with effort and consistency. The teamwork also
strengthened our friendship and understanding of each other’s goals.
The lesson taught me the importance of having direction in life. Without clear goals, it’s easy to lose
motivation or feel lost. Setting SMART goals gives us a guide to follow and measure our progress. It
made me realize that success starts with small, intentional steps. Overall, it was a productive and
inspiring class.
September 15 – Presentation of SMART Goals
This day was dedicated to presenting our SMART Goals in a creative way. I felt a mix of excitement
and nervousness before our turn to present. Everyone showcased their work with enthusiasm and
effort. I admired how each presentation was unique and personal. It was nice to see how everyone
expressed their goals creatively.
During our presentation, I felt proud of what Samantha and I created. Our flower design helped make
our goals visually appealing and easy to understand. I appreciated how our classmates and teacher
gave positive feedback. It made me realize the value of effort and creativity in learning. Sharing our
goals also made them feel more real and achievable. Samantha and I started the presentation with a
song and ended it with a drama presentation that lightens up the mood inside the classroom.
I learned that presenting in front of others builds confidence and communication skills. It’s important
to share your ideas clearly and proudly. This experience encouraged me to believe in my potential
and keep working toward my dreams. It reminded me that every small goal achieved is a step toward
a bigger success. This activity truly motivated me to stay focused and determined.
September 17 – Qualifications for Teachers
Our discussion this day focused on the qualifications for teachers, which was both informative and
inspiring. I learned that being a teacher requires not only education but also values, passion, and
dedication. It made me appreciate the profession even more. Teaching is not just a job—it’s a lifelong
commitment to helping others learn. I began to reflect on what kind of teacher I want to become in the
future.
We also discussed the question, “Which do you prefer: teaching in a private or public school?” It was
interesting to hear different opinions from my classmates. Some preferred private schools for the
facilities and environment, while others preferred public schools to serve more students in need. I
realized that both have their own challenges and rewards. What matters most is the teacher’s
dedication and heart for teaching.
This topic helped me reflect on my career goals as a future educator. I also learned that teachers in
public schools have great opportunities but they are bump with workloads. Meanwhile, teachers in
private schools are not so burden with work but less pay or opportunities. However, both if given an
opportunity, are the field that I want to be immersed in the days to come. It showed me that teaching
requires continuous learning, patience, and love for students. I felt more inspired to prepare myself
academically and emotionally for this path. It reminded me that being a teacher means making a
difference in people’s lives. I ended the day feeling proud of my choice to pursue education.
September 24 – Assigned Topics for Presentation/Report
On this day, our class was assigned topics for our upcoming presentation and report. I felt excited yet
nervous about what topic we would handle. Preparing for a presentation means researching deeply
and organizing ideas clearly. I saw this as a chance to improve my communication and teamwork
skills. It also gave me a sense of responsibility to contribute meaningfully to our group.
We group ourselves according to our preference so we decided to be a group with Jeh Francine,
Samantha Nicole, Lia Kristine, Gabriell and Danielle Gloria. The assignment reminded me of how
collaboration helps learning become more enjoyable. Working with classmates allows us to share
ideas and learn from each other. I looked forward to exploring our topic and presenting it confidently.
Group projects like this teach us accountability and respect for others’ opinions. It made me realize
that teamwork is a vital part of being a good student.
This day helped me understand that preparation is key to success. Presentations are not just about
speaking but also about understanding what you’re sharing. I felt motivated to do my best and
support my groupmates throughout the task. It also made me appreciate how each activity in this
class helps us grow as learners and future teachers. Overall, I ended the day feeling ready and
determined to face new challenges.
