EdTC 2 – Performance Task 2

Instructions:
Watch “Discovering Your Life’s True Calling – Lou Sabrina Ongkiko” at YouTube.
Based on the video that you just watched, answer the following questions:
1. What is our life’s true calling?

It’s clearly emphasized what our life truly calls are about to
sacrifice because you love. Serving people out of love is what God
want us to do. Because of love, he sacrifices his life just to save us.
When you love, you are inspired to do anything without expecting in
return because it is your passion to serve people. I believe that passion
of serving people is a gift God, because not everyone has the heart
and love to serve. It is a passion that whatever it takes you will
continue to hope, to believe because you love them as Ma’am, Ongkiko
said.

2. How can you apply that in your calling to teach?

I will apply this calling by serving people out of love because it is


my passion. My perseverance is the key to endure my heart desire to
help, because I also believe that profession isn’t a call, it’s how you
value the people. If you love, you don’t seek anything in return,
because you value the people around you. That is why happiness
cannot be found in money; it’s a self-fulfillment when you serve people
with love. As a learner educator, I know everything is difficult, you
need to acquire some knowledge to teach the learners because you
are shaping their mind for the future. I know that this calling is very
challenging, you must sacrifice everything to fulfill your passion. This
decision I made, was my visionary and now I took 1 step closer to
reaching out this dream.

As I watched the video of Ma’am Lou Sabrina Ongkiko, I can’t


hold back my tears when she is talking a short story about the child
behind the picture, was her student before. I felt her heavy heart while
she talked, knowing that many children are in needs of financial
support that someday we can help them build their dream, encourage
and motivate them, because as what Ma’am Ongkiko said, even DepEd
cannot help them, we as a community we should help them, and I, as a
calling from God, I am excited to serve the children for our future.
