CROWD MANAGEMENT AND MONITORING SYSTEM
ABSTRACT: Batch number: 15
Crowd management has become a major concern in public places such as shopping malls,
supermarkets, railway stations, airports, and event venues due to rapid urbanization and population
growth. Uncontrolled crowd movement can result in congestion, safety hazards, panic situations, and
inefficient use of space. Traditional crowd monitoring techniques mainly depend on manual observation,
which is time-consuming, inaccurate, and difficult to manage during peak hours.
The Crowd Management and Monitoring System is proposed to overcome these limitations by
providing an automated and reliable solution for monitoring crowd density in real time. The
system continuously tracks the movement of people and collects crowd-related data from
different zones within a facility. This data is transmitted to a centralized system where it is
securely stored and processed for analysis.
A dedicated monitoring dashboard presents live crowd information, including density levels and
congestion-prone areas, enabling authorities to make quick and informed decisions. The system
helps regulate entry and exit flow, prevent overcrowding, and ensure smooth movement of
people. It also supports early detection of abnormal crowd conditions, allowing timely response
during emergencies.
The proposed system significantly reduces the need for manual supervision, improves public
safety, and enhances overall crowd control efficiency. With future enhancements such as
artificial intelligence–based crowd prediction, automated alert systems, and advanced analytics,
the system can be extended to support smart city infrastructure and large-scale public safety
management.
