1: Introduction and Objective of the Project

1.1 Introduction
E commerce is a rapidly growing sector that leverages the power of the internet to facilitate
buying and selling of goods and services. The convenience, accessibility, and global reach
of e-commerce have transformed the way businesses operate and consumers shop. In light
of this, our E-commerce Project aims to create a robust online platform that provides a
seamless and user-friendly experience for both buyers and sellers.
In today’s world reach of internet is expanding very rapidly, more and more people are going
online. In the expanding world of internet more and more of the applications of internet are
emerging like social media, chat applications, online games as well as businesses are also
going online. Businesses have an advantage of having large reach of products over internet
As well as customers are able to find the product of their choice and a wide variety of
products to choose from. Similarly, customers are also able to visit more and more stores
without leaving their home.
Our project “FashionKart” is designed to address various challenges and provide solutions
that benefit both businesses and consumers. Basically, we built a platform that effectively
solves the following challenges faced by both consumers and businesses –
1. Geographical constraints – Traditional businesses and stores are limited by the physical
location, making it difficult for consumers to access a wide variety of products.
So, our E-commerce website breaks down the geographical barriers, allowing consumers
to shop from anywhere in the world and access a diverse range of products.
2. Time constraints - Busy schedules may restrict individuals from visiting physical stores
during regular business hours. So, our project allows users to shop at any time, providing
flexibility and catering to the needs of customers with tight schedules.
3. Product Variety and Availability - Physical stores have limited shelf space, limiting the
variety and quantity of products they can offer. E-commerce platforms can showcase an
extensive product catalog, offering a wide range of choices to consumers, and can
efficiently manage inventory to ensure availability.
7

1.2 Aims and Objective

In today’s world the internet is connecting people around the world. In this era of technology
so many services are shifted on internet for a broad reach of product, so do the businesses.
Businesses with online presence find more customers across the globe. Our project aims to
provide an online gateway to sellers over the web where they can list their products before
the world and sell it on a broad platform.
Our project provides basic functionality of an E-commerce website to the customer i.e.
browse more products, compare the products based on ratings, buy products without going
anywhere. Seller can add new products, delete products, edit product details (price, stock,
images, description) using special access with an admin account.
Our project aims to provide a good reach to the products as well as hassle free shopping
experience to the customers.
Our project offers the potential of online business to small retailers. They can expand their
business to new potentials using the power and reach of internet. Our project offers the
product a good reach over internet, where more and more people can find, buy it which
results in good sales an popularity. Our project also offers a rating system to products, where
the customer can judge the products based on ratings given by other customers who’ve
bought the product before them.

3: Problem Definition and Requirement Specifications

3.1 Problem Definition

In today’s world the absence of a user-friendly and comprehensive e-commerce

platform in the fashion industry is leading to a lack of accessible, diverse, and satisfying
shopping experiences for consumers. Users struggle to find curated, relevant fashion
items, leading to dissatisfaction and reduced loyalty. Lack of inclusivity and diverse
fashion choices limits the platform's appeal to various demographics. Navigational
difficulties and inadequate search functionalities impede the user's ability to find desired
products efficiently. Complicated checkout processes and insufficient payment options
decrease conversion rates and sales. Customers want the hassle free shopping experience
without going to the market physically.
Businesses are also suffering from recession, hence facing an urge to grow their business
over internet to offer products to a vast amount of people. The management of orders,
stocks, marketing is very difficult in traditional businesses. The requirement of online
presence is growing day by day. The online presence of product is necessary in today’s
world for businesses not just to survive but become profitable.
Products in market are not able to find the target consumer due to limitations of traditional
business practices. Products in physical stores are lacking the reach, the online
marketability offers the product a good reach.
