3. OBJECTIVE
Generally, the study was conducted to determine the present building process practices in building
construction industry. inAmhara region, [Link] District.
Specifically, this aims to:
• Identify the Value Chain (AS IS) [Link] building construction.
• Compare the Value Chain (AS IS) to that of the Benchmark In USA Small industries.
• Identify the gaps and constraints in attaining high productivity.
• Identify and recommend technologies that will improve light manufacturers practice & increase
product quality and productivity.

12
11. Results that come from bench marking
13
12. Evaluation of the value chain analysis
• Ethiopia is good for building construction.
• However, building construction process is still poor in our country.
13. Constraints contributing to these facts are:
In adequate technological inputs.
Lack of skills on metal product manufacturing technique.
Poor quality of products.
Poor marketing network.
14. Planning
Identify technologies
Discuses with stockholders
Acquire technologies
Make the design of selected technologies
Manufacture the technologies- 100% copy
Give continues extension service about building construction technology
