Solution Selling – Presenting Myself as a Solution

Time Plan Overview (80 minutes)

Divergence (25 minutes) – Exploring Possibilities

1. Icebreaker: “You Are the Product” (10 min)

- Activity: Students pair up and introduce themselves as if they are a product


being sold.

- Prompt: “If you were a product, what problem would you solve for a
company?”

- Outcome: Builds awareness of personal value proposition.

2. Brainstorming: Recruiter’s Pain Points (15 min)

- Group activity: Students list challenges recruiters face (e.g., skill gaps,
adaptability, innovation).

- Facilitator captures responses on a whiteboard/flipchart.

- Outcome: Students understand that placements are about solving employer


problems, not just showcasing skills.

Emergence (30 minutes) – Finding Meaning

3. Case Study Discussion: “Solution Sellers in Action” (10 min)

- Facilitator shares 2–3 short stories of successful candidates who positioned


themselves as solutions.

- Students discuss: What did they do differently?
