Reflection

With regard to the article on “The story behind the racist responses to "black panther"

in china”, I had a deep reflection on the issue racial discrimination. The article highlights the

various responses to the Black Panther movie in China whereby it is evident that the movie

was not accepted and the responses were very negative. Following this, discrimination

against the black has been a prevalent issue across the world especially in the Western and

Asian countries (Yang, 2018). As much as the blacks have gone against the odds and become

successful in the various fields of life, they are still not earning the respect, equality and

privileges as the white people.

Nevertheless, it is sad to see that the black community has to work twice as hard as

the white individuals so as to be recognized or to attain the dignity they deserve. For instance,

the Black Panther movie was a phenomenal and amazing movie that received both positive

and negative response although as we can see from China, not an iota of positive response

was given (Yang, 2018). With such talent from the black community it is important for

people to put aside their racial differences and acknowledge as well as appreciate the various

talents and abilities that these individuals convey.

Consequently, the world would be a better place if people did not judge or

discriminate others due to their skin color. Furthermore, if only people focused on the

capabilities, values, and talents conveyed by the black community, there issue of race would

be diminished. Hence, China should appreciate the excellent work conveyed by the team

behind the Black Panther movie and not focus on the aspect of race.
