Evaluation of Outcome

Realizing that 22% of locally produced fruits and vegetables are wasted in Jordan,
our team decided to raise awareness in our school among both parents and students.
We believed that educating our community was the first step toward creating change
and encouraging more responsible behavior regarding food consumption. We wanted
our project to have a real and lasting impact, not only temporary awareness.

We started by interviewing the cafeteria supervisors to better understand the

situation. Through these discussions, we learned how much food is wasted daily and
the ways students contribute to this problem, such as taking more food than they need
or throwing away unopened items. This information encouraged us to take action.
First, we distributed brochures to parents and students to raise awareness about the
issue. Later, after increasing awareness within the school community, we distributed
surveys to 300 parents to reinforce the message and reach an even wider audience.
The responses we received were mixed; some families were trying to reduce waste,
while others were not taking sufficient action.

Evaluation of Teamwork

I exhibited strong collaboration skills and constantly offered support to my

teammates. Whenever someone needed help, I assisted them willingly and tried to
make sure no one felt overwhelmed or stressed. For example, one of my classmates
had difficulty organizing the survey results, so I helped her add more accurate
information and complete the task effectively. Working together made the task easier
and improved the overall quality of our results.

Furthermore, we maintained open communication at all stages of the project by

sharing ideas and listening to each other’s opinions. Although we disagreed on certain
points, I contributed by suggesting compromises and focusing on what would benefit
the group the most. Despite encountering small setbacks, we worked through them by
being observant and supportive. Overall, my contributions played a positive role in
helping the team successfully complete the project.

Evaluation of Own Teamwork

I approached my responsibilities with determination, paying close attention to

detail and maintaining accuracy throughout my tasks. Although some parts of the
project were challenging, I worked through the difficulties and completed my work
successfully without giving up. I accepted advice from my teammates and used it to
strengthen the final outcome and improve my performance.
During moments when we lost focus, I reminded my teammates to concentrate in
order to achieve the best possible results and stay committed to our goals.

Research Insights

From this project, I gained a deeper understanding of the percentage of food

wasted around the world and how it can be prevented. Through extensive research, we
realized that many people who waste food do not recognize that their actions
contribute to environmental problems such as pollution, resource depletion, and
climate change. This made the issue feel more serious and urgent to address.

National study results show an average of about 81.3 kilograms of food waste
per person per year in Jordan, with households being the major contributors.
Additionally, I believe that if people clearly understood the amount of pollution
caused by food waste and the different ways to prevent it, they would take more
precautions when purchasing food and managing their consumption. Simple habits
like planning meals and storing food properly could make a big difference.

Skills Insight

I applied my technology skills by using the computer to create and edit the survey,
organize the data, and present the results clearly. However, one of my weaknesses
was not always expressing my opinions confidently, which sometimes led to
misunderstandings among my teammates. Another weakness was trying to finish
tasks too quickly, which occasionally affected the quality of my work the first time
and required extra corrections later.

Reflection on Improvement of Weaknesses and

Work Process

To improve, I should take more time when completing tasks to ensure better
results and higher quality work. Planning my time more effectively and reviewing my
work carefully will help me avoid mistakes. To strengthen my communication skills, I
plan to read more books and expand my vocabulary so I can express my ideas more
clearly and confidently.

Reflection on Teamwork Benefits

Teamwork provided many benefits. Sharing ideas allowed everyone to contribute

their opinions, which helped us develop better and more creative solutions. For
example, Walid helped me by suggesting useful questions for the survey, and Mariam
printed the materials I created on the computer. Each member played an important
role in completing the project.

By combining our skills and working together, we achieved a high-quality

outcome. Our collaboration enabled us to produce more effective and meaningful
results than we could have achieved individually.

Reflection on Teamwork Challenges and

Improvements

One challenge we faced was a lack of consistent communication. Although we

agreed to communicate through Instagram, not everyone responded regularly, which
sometimes delayed our progress and made decision-making slower. As a result, we
occasionally had to wait before moving forward with certain tasks. In the future,
meeting face-to-face or setting fixed meeting times could improve communication
and save time.

Another challenge was that some teammates did not complete their tasks on
time. To overcome this, we should support each other more, divide the responsibilities
more clearly, and cooperate closely to finish our work faster and more efficiently.
