“Hi everyone! Today, we’re going to practice something


really important…
It’s called following directions. That means we listen
carefully, and we do what we are asked—the first time!”

(Show the chart to the students)

“This chart will help us see how well we’re doing. Look
here—see all the empty boxes?”

❓ Teacher (Ask & Engage):

“Each time you follow directions—like cleaning up, lining


up, or listening when I ask—you get to color one box.”

“Let’s say it together:

“Only color one box at a time, and only when you’ve


followed directions.”

“I will tell you when it’s time to color, or I might ask you:
