NET Developer – Cape Town

We are developing a web-based eCommerce portal for our client that integrates with an external
system (Bookmaster) via REST APIs. The platform includes catalogue browsing, product search,
cart and checkout workflows, user profile management, and order tracking. The portal will be
developed using a C# .NET tech stack.

Key Responsibilities:

• Develop and maintain modules such as product search, catalogue display, cart, checkout,
and profile pages using [Link] Core / MVC.
• Integrate with external REST APIs for catalogue, user sessions, orders, and documents.
• Implement tiled UI layouts for product listings and search results.
• Develop forms and logic for cart updates, fast order entry, and ISBN search.
• Assist in implementing secure session handling and password reset features.
• Contribute to page layout, styling, and user interface based on provided mockups.
• Write clean, scalable code and perform unit and integration testing.
• Participate in debugging, UAT, and feature refinement based on feedback.

Skills & Experience Required:

• 3+ years of hands-on experience with C# .NET (Core/MVC) development.


• Strong understanding of RESTful APIs, JSON, and HTTP methods.
• Experience with Entity Framework and working with SQL Server databases.
• Ability to implement responsive UIs using Razor Pages, HTML, CSS, and basic JavaScript.
• Familiarity with session management and authentication flows.
• Basic understanding of Git or other version control systems.
• Ability to work from estimates and follow detailed functional specifications.
• Good communication skills and ability to collaborate with senior developers and analysts.

Bonus (Nice to Have):

• Experience with file uploads (XML/CSV), email integrations, or PDF generation.


• Familiarity with eCommerce portals or ERP integrations.
• Understanding of Agile development practices.
