The user confirms the successful activation of ANSYS post-installation by entering the Port Number and IP Address of the Licensed server into the prompted fields. After entering Port Number 1055 and Server IP 10.2.60.16, the user clicks on 'test'. If the test is successful, it indicates that ANSYS is activated and ready for use .

The rationale for providing both a detailed installation guide and software download links in the ANSYS installation process is to ensure a user-friendly and comprehensive approach to installation. This setup assists users in navigating the potentially complex installation process by offering clear, step-by-step instructions while simultaneously providing immediate access to the necessary software files, thus reducing the chance for installation errors and improving user experience .

Mounting additional disks during ANSYS installation is necessary because the software package is divided into multiple disks. This is part of the full package that consists of all 8 disks, likely due to the large size of the software components involved. During the installation, after running setup.exe from Disk 1, the user is prompted to mount the next disk when necessary, allowing the installation process to continue and all parts of the software to be properly installed .

The ANSYS installation guide insists on running commands like %temp% and %appdata% because these folders may contain residual files from previous ANSYS installations which, if not deleted, could interfere with the new installation. Ignoring this step could lead to conflicts or issues within the new installation due to leftover configuration files, potentially causing setup errors or impacting software performance .

The entry of the Port Number and Server IP during ANSYS setup serves to connect the software to the licensed server, which authenticates the installation against their licensing agreement. This connection ensures that only users with the proper licensing credentials can activate and use the software, preventing unauthorized access and usage .

Running 'client.bat' as an administrator is significant as it likely ensures that the necessary permissions and configurations are set in the system for the subsequent installation process. This step might initialize certain environment settings or scripts needed for the installation to correctly recognize the system's administrative privileges, which are necessary for certain installations to modify system-wide settings .

The mounting of disks during the ANSYS installation is directly related to selecting the specific ANSYS modules that are required since the content is spread across multiple disks. By mounting each necessary disk sequentially, users have the opportunity to choose which modules to install and omit others, allowing for a tailored installation that fits their specific needs and maximum efficiency .

If previous versions of ANSYS are not uninstalled before beginning a new installation, conflicts could arise between different versions, likely due to shared resources or configurations that have not been updated. These could cause errors during installation or runtime issues with the software. To avoid these issues, it is critical to follow the guide's instructions to uninstall any previous ANSYS installations and delete relevant folders in %temp% and %appdata% before proceeding with the new installation .

Before beginning the installation of ANSYS on a host machine, the user must ensure any previous versions of ANSYS are uninstalled. This is followed by clearing particular folders: the user should use the Run command (+R) to open %temp% and delete the Ansys folder if present, and then repeat the process with %appdata% to delete the Ansys folder if it exists there .

After the installation of ANSYS, the user is prompted to enable and enter the Port Number and IP Address of the Licensed server. Specifically, they must enter Port Number: 1055 and Server IP: 10.2.60.16. After entering these details, clicking on 'test' will activate the ANSYS software, making it ready for use .
