Calculate the Bursting Pressure, Safe Working Pressure for the

Nominal Pipe Size (NPS): 4 inches, for lap-welded steel pipe

• Outside Diameter (OD): 114.3 mm , 1134.3/25.4 = 4.5 inches (from the table).

• Wall Thickness (tm): 6.02 inches (Schedule 40 from the table).

• Material: ASTM A106 Grade B

• Temperature 600°F

• Tensile Strength (ST): 17.9 ksi (17,900 psi).
