SCAP COMMISSIONING RITES

Coordinator: Reverend Father, I am pleased to present to you the militant-members
of SCA of San Miguel-Puertos High School who have shown their desire to enlist in
Christ’s Army of Youth Campus Ministry- Student Catholic Action.
Candidates: Father, I want to share the light of Christ to others by joining the
Campus Ministry- Student Catholic Action of the Philippines.
Priest: Thanks be to God who inspired them with holy desires. Mr. Coordinator, you
may now start lighting their candles.
Coordinator: Requesting two SCAns to come to the front to light their candles.
(Wait until everybody has lighted his/her candle)
Coordinator: All militants are requested to please rise.
Priest: Repeat after me.
I, _________ (your name)/ a militant from San Miguel-Puertos High School,/
commits myself to the Lord. /
Coordinator: Kindly place your right hand over your forehead.
Priest: Repeat after me.
I commit my mind to you LORD/
I pray that my mind be pure and open/
Make all my ideas, opinion and thoughts/
Be clear, constructive and helpful./
May all that I will think /
Lead me to seeing you more clearly/
Coordinator: Now place your right hand on your chest.

Make all my feelings and desires/
Be according to Your plans and desire for me/
May all that I will feel/

Coordinator: Now place your right hand on the left shoulder of the person on your
right.
Priest: Please repeat after me.
I commit my BODY to you Lord/
I pray that my body be pure and open/
Make all my talents and abilities/
Be used to give you praise and glory./
May all that I will do/
Lead me to follow you more nearly./
Priest: As token to our loyalty and obedience to Christ our King, let us recite the
Campus Ministry- Student Catholic Action pledge. Please kneel down.
Candidates: (in unison)
Oh Christ Jesus/ King of all things/ visible and invisible/ I am desiring this day/ to
be enrolled/ under the banner of Campus Ministry- Student Catholic Action of the
Philippines/ do hereby solemnly dedicate myself to You./
Knowing that of myself/ I cannot render worthy service in your army/ I humbly
ask You to form me into an apt instrument of your mighty purposes/ through Your
Holy Spirit/ so that molded to the pattern of Mary/ through whom You did come/ to
give abundant life to all/ I may grow in You/ and bring you to the world/ and to the
souls that need You. /
Realizing that You did solemnly promise/ to be with the Hierarchy even with the
consummation of the world/ I now must participate obediently and fully/ in the
apostolate of the Hierarchy/ so that soon there must be one fold and one shepherd/
Trusting You that this day you will receive me/ and turn my weaknesses into
strengths./ I HEREBY TAKE MY PLACE/ IN THE RANKS OF STUDENT CATHOLIC ACTION
OF THE PHILIPPINES/ AND VENTURE TO PROMISE/ A FAITHFUL SERVICE./ I WILL
SUBMIT FULLY/ TO EACH DISCIPLINE WHICH BINDS ME/ TO YOU, YOUR HIERARACHY,
AND MY COMPANIONS/ I WILL STRIVE TO THE BEST OF MY ABILITY/IN UNION WITH
MOST PURE MARY/ TO FIGHT THE BATTLE OF LIFE FOR YOU, MY LIVING KING/ THAT I
MAY REIGN WITH HER FOREVER/ IN YOUR KINGDOM OF TRUTH AND LIFE/ KINGDOM OF
HOLINESS AND GRACE/ YOUR KINGDOM OF JUSTICE AND PEACE/ AMEN./

Priest: By the virtue of the authority vested in me, I now bless and accept you all as
full-fledged SCAns, in the Name of the Father, and of the Son, and of the Holy Spirit.
Militants: Amen.
