:Scene 1: Catchy Hook ###

Objective: Craft an intriguing and suspenseful opening to grab viewers' attention. The perfect
.start that sets the tone and piques curiosity. (the most perfect start)

Characters: - **Captain Colter Stevens**: Confused, determined, showing frustration and

disorientation. - **Christina Warren**: Concerned, empathetic, trying to help Colter. -
**Conductor**: Professional, mildly annoyed, maintaining order. - **Passengers**: Various
background characters to add to the bustling train atmosphere. #### Setting: - A crowded
train car with passengers in various states of activity. Sound of the train clattering over tracks
..in the background. the train is moving in different sceneries

Radio Voice in colter's head he** **]Sound fades in: radio chatter, faintly echoing[**
remembers hearing the voice**: Dark Star November, this is Gator 6. Return to base. Dark
Star November, this is Gator 6. Return to base. **[Colter suddenly jolts awake, disoriented.
The train clatters along the tracks. He looks around, confused and pale. Christina sits across
from him, noticing his distress.]** **Christina**: (smiling. relieved) I took your advice. It was
good advice. Thank you. **Colter**: (looking around, trying to make sense of his
surroundings) **Christina**: (leaning forward, concerned) You look pale. Everything okay?
**Colter**: (looking around, trying to make sense of his surroundings) **Christina**: ( in a
surprise of his reactions) Sean? Sean? (a moving passanger spills very little coffee on his
shoe) **Christina**: (softly) Hey. **Christina**: (suddenly agitated) Anyway, listen. I wanted
to tell you. another passanger sitting next to them talking to himself (interrupting) God damn
it! **Christina**: (unhappy of a calling of her ex boyfriend who is calling her) The only
reason why I canceled... He's calling me three times a day. I hear more from him now than I
did when we were together. What is it with guys? **Colter**: (looking around, trying to
make sense of his surroundings) **Christina**:: (smiles) I gave notice. **[Conductor
approaches, checking tickets.]** **Conductor**: Ticket? **Colter**: (surprised as
everything is unfamiliar for him) Notice? **Conductor**: (ordering) May I see your ticket?
**Colter**: (increasingly confused) I, uh... (christina tries to get the ticket from his upper
pocket but he removes her hand as a reflex, but she shakes her head and smiling and gets
the ticket) **Christina**: (softly, trying to calm him) Hey. Hey. You're acting a little strange
this morning. You okay? **Conductor**: (firmly) Ticket? **Passenger**: (impatiently) Are we
gonna make up the 10 minutes? **Conductor**: (dryly) We're gonna try, sir. **another
Passenger**: (angrily) Hey, Grandpa, what the heck was the delay back there?
**Conductor**: (calmly) I just punch the tickets, sir. **the another Passenger**: (in lower
voice, grumbling) I should punch your face. **Christina**: (softly, to Colter) Sean? Did I do
something? **Colter**: (looking directly at her, serious) Look, I can see that you think you
know me, but I don't know who you are. My name is Captain Colter Stevens. I fly helicopters
for the U.S. Army in Afghanistan. **[Announcement over train intercom: "Now approaching
Glenbrook Station."]** **Christina**: (very smiling as she believes he is joking) Sean,
that's... **Colter**: (unfamiliar with everything) Sean! I feel sick. (he leaves to the rest room)
**female passnger**: (anothe passanger hit her so all her paper dropped in the middle of
the moving train) Damn it! the passanger who hit her: I'm sorry. Let me help you with that.
the female passange: No, it's okay. (colter moves tries to know where he is he is looking at
everything around) **[Train stops at Glenbrook Station. Colter looks out the window,
distracted.]** **Boy who hit the female**: (off-screen) Hey, mister! (hands Derick the
bomber a dropped object) You dropped this. **Derick**: (taking the object, bewildered)
Thanks. **Colter**: (looking from the door to the strange place he doesn't suppose to be in
he asking the boy who just got his bicycle to leave the train) What is that? (a suspensful
music is playing in the background to add intense to the scene) **the boy passanger**:
(distractedly) Chicago. **[Train announces: "All aboard. Doors are closing. This is a Chicago-
bound train."]** **Christina**: (more concerned with gentle smile then big smile) You okay
there, Captain? **[Train announces: Next stop, Chicago. Union Station.] **Colter**: (after
seeing his non face in the train window mirror) Did you see that? **Christina**: You're kind
of freaking me out. (colter goes to the rest room to see his face in the mirror but it is a face
of another man he can't believe it) **Colter**: (agitated) No. No, no, no. ( he puts his hand
in front of the mirror tomake sure it's him) ( he puts his hand on his head then gets the
wallet from his pocket, it has ID of another man whose face is the face appears when he
looks in the mirror again then he goes out the rest room and Christina is waiting outside with
a surprise and worry she doesn't know what is the matter with him) **Christina**: (softly,
trying to make eye contact) Are you all right? **Colter**: (dazed) I don't know what's going
on. **Christina**: (trying to calm him) Talk to me, Sean. **Colter**: (pulling away, voice
rising and rising his hand to stop her from approching him) Look, I don't know who Sean is.
And I don't know who you are. (the train still moving and another train passes close to it so
colter losses some balance and hits the train inside wall)

).The sound of the train clattering over the tracks in the background(

Christina**: (calm but firm, tring to calm** )sound of the train and intense music sound (
him) Okay. We'll get off at the next stop. We'll figure out whatever's going on here, okay?
**Colter**: (rising the wallet in his hand, talking to Christina) This doesn't belong to me.
**Christina**: (gently hits his abdomen to look to her and says in calming voice and calming
attitude) Look at me. Everything's gonna be okay. (a big explosin happen in the train ) black
..screen then a blue source code lighting

Scene 2: (Initial Revelation some revelation of the protagonist's situation) ###

Colter awakes in another place and he suddenly hears a voice in his head, interrupting his[**
Voice**: Captain Colter Stevens, this is Beleaguered Castle. Acknowledge ** **].thoughts
transmission. **Colter**: (startled, looking around) Where am I? **Voice**: You're with
Beleaguered Castle. Are you functional? **Colter**: (holding his head, trying to focus) I'm
dizzy. Did I just A-lock? **Voice**: Adjusting your rotation. Can you report at this time?
**Colter**: (confused, frustrated) What is this? What is this? **Voice**: Captain, report
what you saw. **Colter**: (almost yelling) What? I don't understand. **Voice**: Some
confusion is perfectly normal at this stage, Captain. Do you have a visual signal? **Colter**:
(gritting his teeth) Who are you? **Voice**: You already have that information, Captain.
**Colter**: (voice shaking) I do? (pauses, then slowly) Recall my name. **Voice**: We'll
rebuild the pattern. Try to focus. **Colter**: I... I was on a mission. I was flying, and then I
woke up on a train. And now I'm here. I need to be briefed. What unit is this? **Voice**:
You're with Beleaguered Castle. **Colter**: (frustrated) Who? **Voice**: Stand by for
thread one of alpha memory pattern. **Colter**: What is Beleaguered Castle? **Voice**:
The exercises will assist you. Memory thread one. Listen to the following passage. **Voice**:
"Lilly awoke in an evening dress and opera cloak. In her hand were five playing cards."
**Colter**: (irritated) Is this a joke? **Voice**: "They were, the queen of spades, four of
clubs, nine of clubs, three of hearts, nine of hearts." **Colter**: Is this a Red Flag exercise?
**Voice**: End of thread one. Thread two. The following is a recording of a Western Screech
Owl. **[Sound of an owl screeching]** **Voice**: End of thread two. End of pattern.
Acknowledge. **Colter**: (confused, muttering) Acknowledge end of pattern. **Voice**:
Stand by to initiate pattern recall. **Colter**: (determined) Go for pattern recall. **Voice**:
Arrange the five playing cards in order of descending value, irrespective of suit. **Colter**:
Queen, two nines, four and a three. **Voice**: That is correct. The passage I read contained
mention of a woman's name. What was that name? **Colter**: Her name was Lilly.
**Voice**: That is correct. Recall my name. **Colter**: Goodwin. Your name's Goodwin.
.**Voice**: That is correct. Welcome back, Captain

Colter**: Ma'am, I need to talk to my father. Has anybody been notified that I'm **
stateside? **Goodwin**: Who bombed the train, Captain? **Colter**: What?
**Goodwin**: Who bombed the train? **Colter**: (frustrated) A woman kept calling me
Sean. **Goodwin**: That is incidental. Think, Captain. Remember back. Who bombed the
train? **Colter**: (yelling) I don't know who bombed the goddamn train. **Goodwin**:
Then go back and try again. **Colter**: (agitated) Back where? **Goodwin**: You will have
eight minutes, same as last time. **Colter**: No, no, no, no. No more bullshit sim tests,
okay? I need to know where I am. What is the location and condition of my crew? Does
anybody know that I'm stateside? You are obligated to give me this information.
**Goodwin**: Start with the bomb. Where is it? What does it look like? What kind of
explosive? How is it detonated? **Colter**: (taking a deep breath) Right. **Goodwin**: Find
.the bomb, and you will find the bomber

...Colter**: (muttering) Find the bomb. Wait, no, I**

)Goodwin pressing a key to send him back to the train(

Scene 3: ( another chapter of the strange adventure or the strange mission) ###

)In the train again (

.I took your advice. It was good advice. Thank you )voice trailing off(
**].Colter and Christina continue their conversation as he looks around, searching for clues[
Christina**: Okay. That's good. And I signed up for an LSAT course. Next thing you know, I'll**
be moving to India to find myself. LSAT. Know any good gurus? **Colter**: (distractedly) She
got your shoe. **Christina**: So, what do you think? Am I on the right track? **Colter**: It's
the same train, but it's different. **Christina**: Deep. I hope it's different. I feel the same
way. **Colter**: (distracted) What? **Christina**: Do I have... **Colter**: Bryan.
**Christina**: What is it with guys? Everything's more beautiful in retrospect. **Colter**:
...(focusing on his surroundings) What is

Colter**: This looks so real. **Christina**: I think it's gonna be really good for me to get as**
.far away from him as possible. **Colter**: (muttering) Unbelievable detail

The conductor approaches to check tickets again. Colter, increasingly agitated, continues to[
Conductor**: Ticket? May I see your ticket?** **].observe his surroundings closely
**Colter**: (thinking out loud) They wouldn't put the doer in front of me. **Christina**:
(confused) The doer? **Colter**: You're the pretty girl. **Christina**: (laughing) Ticket?
**Colter**: The distraction. **Christina**: Distraction? **Colter**: Every sim has one.
**Passenger**: Are we gonna make up the 10 minutes? **Conductor**: We are gonna try,
sir. **Christina**: (confused) Are you talking about Bryan? **Passenger**: (angry) Hey,
Grandpa, what the hell was the delay back there? **Colter**: What are you late for?
**Passenger**: What? **Colter**: You seem concerned about the time. What are you late
for? **Passenger**: I'm on my way to an asshole festival. I hear you're headlining.
**Colter**: (smirking) That's funny. What are you, a comedian? **Christina**: (laughing)
Yeah. **Passenger**: (annoyed) He is a comedian. Sit down. Freak. Fans. **Christina**:
That's the guy. He came in third on America's Got Talent. Got cited twice for a DUI. We talked
about him. **Colter**: Thank you, ma'am. Thank you. **Christina**: You're welcome.
**[Announcement over the intercom: "Glenbrook Station."]** **Passenger**: Yeah, but by
1:00 the bridge is gonna be jammed. **Colter**: (moving, trying to gather his thoughts)
Damn it! **Passenger**: I'm sorry. Just let me get it, okay? **Boy**: Hey, mister! Hey! Hey!
You dropped this. **Colter**: (taking the object) Thanks. **Conductor**: All aboard. Doors
are closing. This is a Chicago-bound train. **Colter**: (thinking out loud) The explosion came
from behind me. **Christina**: What's with you? **Colter**: (determined) I don't have time
to talk to you right now. **Passenger**: I got time for you. **Conductor**: Next stop,
.Chicago. Union Station

Scene 4: ( initial success) ###

Colter finds the bomb in the rest room and tries to figure out what to do. He thinks he can [**
].talk to Goodwin but it's not how source code works

Colter**: Holy shit. Goodwin? You gonna tell me how to disarm this? Should I... Unplug it? **
Or do you want me to just leave it? Or... **Colter**: Okay, um... I'm just gonna leave it.
Okay? **Passenger**: (frustrated) I'll be late. **[Colter pretending he is a security man he
raising his wallet opening it as a security man.]** **Colter**: Ladies and gentlemen, transit
security. Due to a classified security breach, I need all of you to turn off any personal
electronic devices until we pull into the station, okay? That means laptops, cell phones. Cell
phone, sir? Cell phone, sir. Thank you very much. Pagers, anything electronic. Thank you. It's
just a precautionary measure. Nothing to worry about. **Passenger**: (to security) So which
is it? Security breach or precautionary measure? **Colter**: Sir? **Colter**: Sir. **Colter**:
Is there a problem here, sir? **Passenger**: I'm in the middle of a very big deal.
**Christina**: (trying to get his attention) Sean? **Colter**: I need you to turn that off.
**Passenger**: Why don't you show me that ID again? **Christina**: Sean? **Colter**:
Turn it off. **Colter**: (yelling) Turn it off. **Passenger**: What's your problem, asshole?
?**Christina**: Sean! What are you doing

)Colter punches the man in his jaw (

Colter**: Hey, not a good idea, ma'am. Not a good idea. That's not a good idea.**
**Christina**: I think you broke his jaw. **Colter**: It's okay. He's not any more real than
you are. **Christina**: I'm not real? How about next time you drive to work? **Colter**:
.(calmly) Not gonna be a next time

)The train explodes again (

Scene 5: ( a lot of clarifications) ###

Goodwin**: Stabilize.** **].Colter, find himself back again to the source code project[**
Lower your pulse. Did you find the bomb? **Colter**: Yes. There's hydraulic fluid all over the
floor. **Goodwin**: It's not a concern, Captain. **Colter**: (agitated) What is... Tell me
about the bomb. **Goodwin**: Where's that man? I saw a guy with a crutch on the monitor.
He looks like he's in charge. I want to talk to him. **Goodwin**: That's irrelevant, Captain.
**Colter**: I want to talk to your commanding officer! **Goodwin**: You can talk to him
upon completion of your mission. **Colter**: My mission is in Afghanistan, where my unit is.
I flew two goddamn sorties yesterday! **Goodwin**: You've been with us for two months.
Did you ID the bomber? **Colter**: No. Where's my unit? And under whose jurisdiction is
this simulation? **Goodwin**: Captain, this is not a simulation. Lives are depending on you.
**Colter**: What lives? **Goodwin**: What do you remember about the bomb? Tell me
?about the detonator. **Colter**: No, no, no. What lives? What are you talking about

Colter**: I need to be briefed. **Goodwin**: Sir, I need to give him something. **Dr. **
Routledge**: That's fine. Go ahead. **Assistant**: Okay. Get ready to send him back in.
We're still waiting. Justin is trying to do all the profiles right now. **Goodwin**: At 7:48 this
morning, Central Standard Time, a bomb exploded on a commuter train outside of Chicago,
killing everyone on board. **Colter**: No, no, no. I'm right here. You're talking to me right
now. **Goodwin**: A man named Sean Fentress was on that train. He, for all intents and
purposes, is now you. Every second spent explaining things puts more innocent civilians at
risk. **Colter**: This makes no sense. **Goodwin**: The train explosion was the first attack
of a series. There are going to be more. Now, did you find the bomb? **Colter**: In the
restroom. Ventilation panel above the sink. Cell phone detonator. Are we done?
**Goodwin**: No, no. But that's good. That's very, very good, Captain. Good. Our records
show that 1,812 calls ended at the moment of the explosion. Fifty-two of those calls were
tethered to the cell tower nearest the train. So, one of those calls was made by our bomber.
**Goodwin**: Do you remember a freight train passing by just before the explosion?
**Colter**: Yes. **Goodwin**: The explosion was timed to engulf the passing freight train,
which means the bomber had to be watching both trains when the call was made. Fifty-two
callers. One of those is our bomber. **Goodwin**: I want you to concentrate on the
passengers in your car. Get to know them. Narrow the suspect pool. Look for ones who seem
quiet or withdrawn. Who seem nervous. As always, you will have eight minutes. **Colter**:
Eight minutes and then I blow up again? **Goodwin**: Yes. **Goodwin**: I need you to
discipline yourself on this next pass. Perform only the tasks that we assign you. Everything
.else is irrelevant

...Colter**: (to himself) Charge the drivers. Okay. Has my father even**

.)But Goodwin presses the key sending him to the train again (

Scene 6: ( big challenge) ###

**].Colter is sent back to the train. He finds himself back in his seat, across from Christina[**
Christina**: I took your advice. It was very good advice. Watch it. **Christina**: You're** *
kind of quiet today. **Colter**: Just got a lot on my mind. **Passenger**: Careful.
**Passenger**: Yikes. **Passenger**: So sorry. **Christina**: Don't worry about it.
**Conductor**: Ticket? **Christina**: That was very kind of you. You're very decent.
**Colter**: Thank you. You're real. **Conductor**: Ticket? **Colter**: How's everything
today? **Conductor**: It's good. **Colter**: Anything out of the ordinary? **Colter**: No.
**Colter**: I meant behavior on the train. Does anything, anybody seem strange to you?
**Conductor**: You're a little strange. **Colter**: How about you? Does anybody look
suspicious? **Christina**: Are you drunk or something? **Colter**: Come here. Come here
for a second. Come on. Think of it as a game. **Christina**: A game? **Colter**: Wow.
They're all so utterly normal, Sean. That's what's so terrifying about them. Maybe there's a
team at work. The sleeping giant in cahoots with the minister and Denoff there. Don't forget
the sullen college kid. He's the expendable one. I bet they're all controlled by the conductor.
Standing there all dictatorial. Demanding tickets. **Christina**: You're funny. **Colter**:
Damn it. What about that guy? **Christina**: Deposition. **Colter**: What about the
woman who's sitting across from him? **Christina**: Hair appointment. Every Monday. You
know this. You talk to these people more than I do. **Colter**: Right, right. And the guy
behind her, he's late for an audition, right? **Christina**: That or a court appearance. That's
the guy that was cited twice for DUI. **Colter**: Hey, how's the signal in here?
**Christina**: It's good. **Announcement**: Now approaching Glenbrook Station.
**Christina**: Is teaching not stimulating enough for you anymore, Sherlock? **Colter**:
Uh-oh. Now we've slipped into racial profiling land. **Colter**: Did anyone else come out of
that bathroom today? **Christina**: Well, I saw you coming out of there. **Colter**: Me?
.**Christina**: Yes. **Colter**: No. **Announcement**: Glenbrook Station, next stop

Colter's suspicions lead him to confront a passenger. He finds the bomber and tries to stop[
Boy**: Hey, mister! Hey. Hold on. Hold on a second. Just hold on a second. There's** **].him
gotta be something in here. You dropped this. **Colter**: (taking the object) Gotta be
something in here. A broken phone? What is this? **Announcement**: Glenbrook Station.
**Colter**: (to Christina) Christina? **Christina**: Yeah. **Colter**: Excuse me. (to
passenger) Hey. Hey, come with me. **Christina**: This isn't our stop. **Colter**: No, come
on. Let's take a walk. **Christina**: We don't get off here. **Colter**: I know. We'll just be
spontaneous. **Christina**: You're kind of freaking me out. **Colter**: I know this is gonna
sound really weird, but I have a really bad feeling about this train, and I think that we should
get off. Okay? Just get your stuff. **Announcement**: All aboard. Doors are closing.
.**Colter**: Come on. Come with me

)They are out of the train now (

Christina**: So, what now? **Colter**: Wait for me, right here. I'll be right back. **
**Announcement**: Your attention, please. Train 7140 to Skokie will be leaving in 15
minutes from track two. **Colter**: (to himself) Your attention, please. Train 7140 to Skokie
will be leaving in... **Colter**: (to Christina) Hey. You ready to get that coffee now?
**Christina**: Sorry, yeah. Just one more second, okay? **Colter**: Oh, for God's sake.
(noticing a suspicious passenger) Feeling sick? **Suspicious Passenger**: It's motion
sickness. I get it all the time. **Colter**: Excuse me. Excuse me? Are you following me? Can I
borrow your phone? **Suspicious Passenger**: No. I don't have one. **Colter**: Sure?
**Suspicious Passenger**: Yeah, I'm sure. **The suspicious passenger**: Look, why don't
you leave me alone, please. Or I'll call the police. **Colter**: With what? I thought you said
you didn't have a phone. Suspicious Passenger: You know, you have no right. Colter:
(grabbing the passenger's bag) What are you doing? Give me my bag back! Suspicious
Passenger: Are you crazy? Colter: Where are they? Christina: Sean? Colter: Get back!
Christina: Sean, what are you doing? Christina: Sean, what's going on? Colter: (desperately)
Where is the phone? Christina: Sean! Sean! Get up! Sean? Suspicious Passenger: (struggling)
What the hell's wrong with you? Colter: No! Are you insane? Colter: Where is the phone?
The passenger: Stop it! Get away from me! Colter: Where is it? Suspicious Passenger: Get
!away from me, please

Colter fights with the passenger who pushed colter who fell down on the train railroad and (
)his head hit the railroad and a fast train is coming the it will hit him

Christina: Sean. Sean! Get up! Sean? The passenger: (to colter) Mister, come on! Christina:
Sean, Sean, get up! Christina: (trying to help) Sean! Sean! (desperate) Give me your hand!
Get off the track! Passenger: (pulling) Mister, come on! Sean, Sean, get up! Christina:
!(shouting) Sean! Sean

Scene 7: (more clarifications) ###

Colter finds himself again in the source code project champer but there's no connection (
with the base it's very cold and freezing, he will try to get gear from champer to fix the
)disconnection

Colter** (shivering, breathing heavily): *Cold.* **Colter** (frantically): *Goodwin?**

Goodwin, come in. Do you read me?* **Goodwin** (calm but concerned): *Captain Stevens,
.this is Beleaguered Castle. Do you copy? Please respond

)Colter can't see her (

Colter** (rubbing his arms, teeth chattering): *It's freezing in here. What's going on?***
**Goodwin** (urgent, to technicians): *He's in trouble.* **Technician 1** (worried, glancing
at monitors): *I think the oxygen just went out.* **Colter** (yelling): *Goodwin? Goodwin!*
**Goodwin** (trying to stay calm): *Find a way to get through to him.* **Dr. Rutledge**
(focused, examining equipment): *What is it? What's going on?* **Technician 2** (nervous,
adjusting controls): *It's not the tertiary cooling, either.* **Goodwin** (desperate, leaning
closer to microphone): *Just keep sending strings out. See if he hooks onto something.*
**Dr. Rutledge** (scientific, explaining): *It's hard to say exactly what he's going through.*
**Goodwin** (panicking, looks up): *Sir? Please!* **Dr. Rutledge** (grim, but controlled):
*There's not a whole lot we can do from here.* **Goodwin** (anxious, pacing): *If nothing
.changes, how much time does he have?* **Dr. Rutledge** (somber): *Some. But not a lot

)Colter fixes the disconnection (

Sound of the source code connecting again** (dispassionate, scientific tone): *There are **
four principal dialects of Arabic. Egyptian, Gulf, Syrian-Lebanese, and North African. We will
now play you portions of each, discussing their differences.* **Voice on Intercom**
(disjointed, monotone): *Lilly awoke in an evening dress and opera cloak. In her hand were
five playing cards. They were the queen of spades, the four of clubs...* **Colter** (yelling,
disoriented): *Goodwin, you out there? Goodwin? Where's Goodwin?* **Dr. Rutledge**
(calm, authoritative): *This is Captain Stevens. Do you copy?* **Colter** (confused, angry):
*The capsule lost power.* **Dr. Rutledge** (curious, slightly impatient): *The capsule? Is
that where you are right now, Captain? In a capsule?* **Colter** (defensive): *You should
know. Who are you?* **Dr. Rutledge** (authoritative, slightly annoyed): *Let me get Captain
Goodwin. Get Goodwin.* **Colter** (accusatory): *You invented this thing, right?* **Dr.
Rutledge** (defensive, factual): *I did. Wait. Are you in command here?* **Dr. Rutledge**
(commanding): *I am. Were you able to locate the information we need, Captain?*
**Colter** (frustrated): *That's a negative, sir. I was unable to find the bomber, but I did save
a passenger on the train. I got her off safely. A woman.* **Dr. Rutledge** (logical, cold):
*Captain? It's gonna be counterproductive for you to try to save anyone on that train. They
are outside the mission.* **Colter** (emphatic, determined): *But she survived. And maybe
the rest could, too.* **Dr. Rutledge** (dismissive): *She survived, but only inside the source
code. None of them can be saved.* **Colter** (demanding answers): *What is the source
code?* **Dr. Rutledge** (scientific, lecturing): *It's quantum mechanics. Parabolic calculus.
It's very complicated.* **Colter** (challenging): *Try me.* **Dr. Rutledge** (exasperated,
detailed): *Fine. When a light bulb is turned off, there's an after-glow, a lingering, halo-like
effect. Have you seen it?* **Colter** (nodding): *Yes.* **Dr. Rutledge** (explaining,
precise): *The brain is like that. Its electromagnetic field remains charged, just briefly, even
after death. Circuits remain open. Now, there's another peculiarity about the brain. It
contains a short-term memory track that's approximately eight minutes long. Like a
convenience store security camera that only records the last portion of the day's activity on
its hard drive. Now, in combining these two phenomena, circuitry that remains viable post-
mortem and a memory bank that goes back eight minutes, source code enables us to
capitalize on the overlap. Sean Fentress died on that train. Of all the passengers aboard, he
was your best link. You two share compatibility in terms of gender, body-size, and your
synaptic maps.* **Colter** (inquiring): *What happens after the eight minutes?* **Dr.
Rutledge** (clinical, precise): *After? Nothing. You cease to exist on the train. You cannot
exist inside the source code beyond Fentress's eight minutes. Source code is not time travel.
Rather, source code is time reassignment. It gives us access to a parallel reality. Now, the
deaths on that train were a tragedy, but source code empowers us...* **Colter**
(interrupting, firm): *No, but I saved one person. That girl that's always sitting across from
me. I pulled her off the train.* **Dr. Rutledge** (curious): *Give me her name.* **Colter**
(trying to remember): *Christina. I don't remember her last name.* **Goodwin**
(informative): *Her name was Christina Warren.* **Colter** (hopeful): *Yes.* **Goodwin**
(factual): *She was 28.* **Colter** (confirming): *That's her.* **Goodwin** (matter-of-
fact): *Born in Wilmette, Illinois. Died this morning on the train.* **Colter** (insistent): *No,
no. I pulled her off. She's fine.* **Dr. Rutledge** (reiterative): *No, she isn't.* **Colter**
(pleading): *Believe me. She is.* **Colter** (desperate): *Believe me! She saw me get hit by
the express train.* **Goodwin** (stepping in, firm): *This isn't getting us anywhere.*
**Colter** (urgent): *No, no, no, wait.* **Goodwin** (to Dr. Rutledge, urgent): *Sir, we
have to send him in. A second attack is imminent, Dr. Rutledge.* **Colter** (alarmed):
*What second attack?* **Goodwin** (serious): *The train was just the beginning, a letter of
intent.* **Colter** (suspicious): *What aren't you telling me here?* **Goodwin** (grave):
*We have information that downtown Chicago is the next target, and they're planning to
detonate a dirty bomb.* **Dr. Rutledge** (practical): *Do you have any idea how many
people would die if an explosion of that magnitude were to occur in the city? We're
evacuating as we speak. **Dr. Rutledge** (urgent, to Colter): *We have to stop it before it
happens. Do you understand? If you find the bomber, his second attack, the real attack, we
think, can be prevented. We have very little time left. Out here, the clocks only move in one
direction.* **Dr. Rutledge** (authoritative): *Charge the drivers.* **Goodwin** (focused,
specific): *On the upper deck of the next carriage, there's a conductor's compartment. It's a
small office containing a strongbox. Inside is a loaded handgun. Get to it. You are authorized
.to use whatever force necessary

Christina** (focused, slight smile): "I took your advice." **Christina Warren** (raising an **
eyebrow, curious): "It was very good advice." **Colter Stevens** (nodding, serious): "You're
still here." **Christina Warren** (smiling warmly): "Of course I am." **Colter Stevens**
(leaning in, excited): "Guess what?" **Christina Warren** (playful, guessing): "You quit your
job and you enrolled in an LSAT course." **Colter Stevens** (grinning): "Good guess." -
**Colter** picks up an empty soda can from the table, his movements deliberate. **Colter
Stevens** (holding the soda can): "Soda can." - **Christina** watches as **Colter** mimics
a coffee spill, her face turning to concern. **Colter Stevens** (intense, serious): "Coffee spill.
Listen to me." **Christina Warren** (confused, cautious): "Don't answer this. You deserve
better than that guy." **Christina Warren** (sighing, nostalgic): "Everything looks more
beautiful in retrospect, doesn't it?" - The **Conductor** approaches, cutting into the
conversation. **Conductor** (focused on his task): "Ticket?" - **Colter** hands over his
ticket without breaking eye contact with **Christina**. **Colter Stevens** (curious,
intense): "How did you know that was..." **Passenger** (professional, reassuring): "Are we
going to make up the 10 minutes?" **Conductor** (determined): "We are going to try, sir." -
**Colter** turns back to **Christina**, his face a mix of urgency and sincerity. **Colter
Stevens** (serious, honest): "How well do you know me?" **passenger to the conductor**
(joking, playful): "Hey, Grandpa..." **Christina** (shaking his head, serious): "Not that well,
apparently." **Colter Stevens** (pleading, earnest): "Do you know me well enough that if I
did something that looked a little strange and was maybe even a little bit dangerous, but I
told you to trust me anyway, that you could do that?" **Christina Warren** (honest, shaking
her head): "No." **Colter Stevens** (surprised, chuckling): "Wow. That was honest." -
**Christina** looks at **Colter** with a mix of admiration and confusion. **Colter
".Stevens** (softly, sincere): "You're beautiful. You're kind. And you're painfully honest

Christina Warren** (laughing, confused): "Who are you? And what did you do with Sean **
Fentress?" **Colter Stevens** (smiling, serious): "It's the new me." - The train intercom
announces the next station. **Intercom** (announcing): "Now approaching Glenbrook
Station. Glenbrook Station, next stop." **Conductor** (repeating): "Ticket?" - A sudden
commotion from another part of the train catches their attention. **Colter Stevens**
(urgent, standing up): "All right, I don't wanna hurt you." **Christina Warren** (concerned,
pulling him back): "No, I'm not gonna sit in my seat, all right? He's bleeding. He needs
medical attention." - **Passenger 1** stands up, addressing **Christina to colter**.
**Passenger 1** (angry, confronting): "Is it true that you tried to steal a gun out of the train's
security box?" **Passenger 2** (worried, intervening): "Careful, ma'am." **Christina**
(frustrated, intense): "Damn it! What were you thinking?" **Colter Stevens** (urgent,
pleading): "Can I borrow your phone?" **Christina Warren** (shaking her head, firm): "No!
You need to go to the hospital, Sean." **Colter Stevens** (desperate, pleading): "Please,
please, let me borrow your phone." **Christina Warren** (stern, worried): "No! Why do you
want my phone?" **Colter Stevens** (reflective, urgent): "What would you do if you only
had a minute left to live?" **Christina Warren** (taken aback, thinking): "I don't know."
**Colter Stevens** (softly, sincere): "I would call my dad. I would hear his voice, and I'd tell
him I was sorry." **Colter to Christina** (softly, reassuring): "Tell me everything's gonna be

Colter Stevens** (sarcastic, shaking his head): "Oh, yeah, the gun in the strongbox, that **
was a really great idea. Thanks for that." - **Goodwin** (curious, professional): "Did you
make any progress?" **Colter Stevens** (focused, determined): "Can I get access to a
phone? I need to talk to my father." **Goodwin** (considering, nodding): "I will try to work
on that soon. Yes. I will try." - **Colter** turns to **Goodwin** on his comm device.
**Colter Stevens** (determined, focused): "Goodwin, how am I doing? I'm just trying to
measure my performance here. Have you ever gone back in? Am I doing better than you
did?" **Goodwin** (calm, firm): "We are wasting valuable time here." **Colter Stevens**
(curious, serious): "No, no. I have never been on the other side of a source code mission."
**Goodwin** (calm, honest): "I wouldn't be a viable candidate." **Colter Stevens**
(curious, focused): "Why not?" **Colter reads the badge on Goodwin's suit: "CAOC-N. What
is that?" **Goodwin** (calm, factual): "Because the specifications are extremely narrow."
**Colter Stevens** (focused, intense): "What are they?" **Goodwin** (authoritative,
demanding): "Captain, you should have found a suspect by now. This tactical advantage, this
tremendous tool that we've given you, don't squander it thinking. Do." **Colter Stevens**
(pleading, desperate): "Please contact my father for me." **Goodwin** (reassuring, firm):
"This will stop at some point, Captain. As soon as you finish the mission. And you're doing
really great. And this will end." - **Goodwin** (authoritative, instructive): "Now, whoever
planted the bomb had to have equipment of some kind. Some gloves, a screwdriver to get
into the overhead vent, flashlight, something. Check bags and backpacks, briefcases,

Christina** (reflective, determined): "So, I took your advice." **Christina Warren** **

(smiling, affectionate): "It was very good advice." **Colter Stevens** (curious, distracted):
"Hey, Grandpa... What are you doing?" **Colter** (curious, concerned): "I'm just trying to
remember something." **Christina** (curious, pointing): "What is that?" **Colter**
(nervous, cautious): "It's a military patch. Were you in the military?" **Colter Stevens**
(focused, serious): "A friend of mine was. He was in Afghanistan and he disappeared, and no
one's heard from him since. Do you have the Internet on your phone?" **Christina**
(shaking her head, apologetic): "No." **Christina** (sarcastic, dismissive): "It's just
connected to the office by a really long piece of string." **Colter Stevens** (urgent,
pleading): "Do you think you can see what you could find on this guy?" **Christina**
(agreeing, nodding): "Sure." **Colter Stevens** (grateful, sincere): "He's just been on my
mind a lot lately. His name is Captain Colter Stevens. He's in the 17th Airborne."
**Christina** (nodding, smiling): "Okay. You owe me." **Colter Stevens** (smiling, sincere):
"I'll buy you a cup of coffee." **Christina** (laughing, agreeing): "Why don't I get one for you
now?" **Colter Stevens** (grinning): "Okay. Christina?" **colter** (curious, hesitant):
"Um... I've been having these dreams lately. Really vivid. And you've been in them."
**Christina** (surprised, confused): "Really?" **Colter** (embarrassed, clarifying): "What?
Oh. No. Not like that. Not that I wouldn't. I... It's just..." **Colter Stevens** (smiling,
reassuring)

)Colter starts to investigate again to search for the bomber (

Um... I'll call you back in a minute, all right? Yeah." - **Colter** takes a deep breath, trying "
to focus as **Christina** looks at him with concern. **Colter Stevens** (determined,
focused): "Cramming?" **Passenger 1** (nodding, distracted): "Uh, yeah." **Colter
Stevens** (curious, interested): "For what?" **Passenger 1** (sighing, tired): "Psych. And I
got a big test this morning, so I should get back to it." **Colter Stevens** (smiling, sly): "Can
I borrow a pen?" **Passenger 1** (irritated, handing a pen): "Yeah, sure." - **Colter**
suddenly grabs the bag of **Passenger 1**, causing a commotion. **Passenger 1** (angry,
shouting): "Whoa! Hey, that's not cool, man!" **Passenger 2** (concerned, intervening):
"Hey, your bag is a mess." **Another passenger** (determined, searching the bag): "What
are you doing, man?" **Colter** (angry, defensive): "Never find what I'm looking for. It's just
like my bag. It's just like my bag." **Passenger 3** (angry, shouting): "How about you let the
guy have his bag back?" **Passenger 2** (stern, warning): "Finish your deal." **Colter
Stevens to the passenger that colter broke his jaw previous time of traveling to the train by
the source code** (calm, determined): "Stay out of this, tough guy. It doesn't end well for

passenger** (frustrated, muttering): "Don't do that." **Colter Stevens** (realizing,
stopping): "Nothing. What am I doing?" **Passenger 1** (angry, sarcastic): "Jesus. Dick." -
**Colter** looks at the military patch again, deep in thought and he sees a bag in the up
floor of the train it's for a female passenger whose bag is for military**Colter Stevens**
(reflective, intense): "CAOC-N." **Passenger 2** (frustrated, sarcastic): "Can you believe
that? Asshole." **Colter Stevens** (polite, friendly): "Excuse me, ma'am?" **Female
Passenger** (polite, smiling): "Hey, how are you doing? Good morning." **Colter Stevens**
(curious, engaging): "Do you work at Walter Reed?" **Female Passenger** (nodding, angry
from colter): "Yeah, I used to." **Colter Stevens** (calm, focused): "I'm in the military."
**Female Passenger** (interested, smiling): "You're in the military?!" **Colter Stevens**
(nodding, serious): "Yeah. Yeah, I am. I was wondering..." **Female Passenger** (curious,
concerned): "Then what was going on down there?" **Colter Stevens** (explaining,
serious): "Oh, you know, uh... We were just having a little bit of an argument, actually, about
this patch." **Female Passenger** (concerned, serious): "Is that what they train you to do?
Assault civilians?" **Colter Stevens** (calm, explaining): "No, ma'am, please. Do any of
these letters, they look familiar to you?" **Female Passenger** (thinking, nodding): "It's Air
Force, and the "N" stands for Nellis." - The train intercom announces the next station.
**Intercom** (announcing): "Now approaching Glenbrook Station." **Colter Stevens**
(urgent, pleading): "Thank you. Can I borrow your phone?" **Female Passenger**
(considering)
Colter: "You know what? Actually, I can pay you for it. I don't even need to borrow it. I can
pay you for it. I have $100. Just for a couple minutes..." **Female Passenger** (shaking her
head, still angry and frightened): "I don't want your money. Just bring it back." **Colter
Stevens** (grateful, sincere): "All right. Thank you so much." **Intercom** (announcing):
"This is a Chicago-bound train. Next stop, Chicago, Union Station." **Colter Stevens**
(urgent, dialing): "Come on, come on, come on, come on." **Operator** (professional,
calm): "Post Operator." **Colter Stevens** (urgent, focused): "Rutledge, please."
**Operator** (professional, calm): "Please hold. Name, please?" **Colter Stevens**
(determined, firm): "You tell him Captain Colter Stevens is calling." **Operator** (calm,
professional): "Hold the line." **Intercom** (announcing): "All aboard. Doors are closing."
**Operator** (calm, professional): "Dr. Rutledge will be on in a moment." **Christina**
(calm, sincere): "I have to tell you something." **colter** (curious, concerned): "I know. I
found him." **Christina** (surprised, shocked): "Your friend?" **colter** (nodding, serious):
"I got him. Nellis Air Force Base. Las Vegas." **Christina** (shaking her head, serious): "No,
he's not..." **Christina Warren** (sad, apologetic): "He's dead, Sean." **Colter Stevens**
(shocked, shaking his head): "What?" **Christina Warren** (apologetic, sincere): "I'm sorry.
Your friend was killed in action two months ago." **Colter Stevens** (shaking his head,
disbelieving): "No, you must've gotten the name wrong." **Christina Warren** (serious,
sincere): "Colter Stevens. 17th Airborne helicopter pilot. It was on the first site I tried. His
father's name is Donald, right?" **Christina** (nodding, serious): "This is from last week.
'Donald Stevens will join host, Leonard Watt, to discuss the death of his son, Army Captain
Colter Stevens, who died in Afghanistan in February, and was honored posthumously with a
silver star. Also on the broadcast will be Army Sergeant Robert Alvarez, whose life was saved

reflective): "I'm sorry." **Captain Colleen Goodwin** (calm, supportive): "Captain?"

Goodwin** (calm, supportive): "Captain Stevens, my name is Captain Colleen Goodwin.

Captain Colleen Goodwin** (calm, instructive): "Captain, just tell me what you see. Just **
look and speak." **Colter Stevens** (focused, intense): "I see a card." **Colter Stevens**
(focused, determined): "Do you copy? We are taking a lot of RPG fire here." **Goodwin**
(calm, supportive): "That's very good." **Colter Stevens** (confused, desperate): "Am I
dead? A radio listing is saying that I died in a helicopter crash, in country, and my father
received a medal for me." **Goodwin** (dismissive, focused): "Your condition's not the
issue here. You need to focus on preventing any subsequent attack. Everything else is
irrelevant." **Colter Stevens** (angry, incredulous): "A news report saying that I'm dead is
irrelevant?" **Goodwin** (firm, authoritative): "Until the person or persons who blew up
that train are in custody, yes." **Colter Stevens** (pleading, desperate): "Goodwin, one
soldier to another, am I dead?" **Captain Colleen Goodwin** (reluctant, sincere): "Part of
your brain remains activated." **Colter Stevens** (confused, insistent): "What about the
rest of me? I can see my hands and my feet. They still move." **Captain Colleen Goodwin**
(calm, explaining): "They are a manifestation. They're just your way of making sense of all
this." **Colter Stevens** (frustrated, desperate): "So, what are you saying? Are you saying
that I'm imagining this? I'm imagining that I'm still alive, that I'm in this capsule?" **Assistant
to Goodwin** (concerned, urgent): "We have core temp dropping. Captain, what just
happened?" **Colter Stevens** (angry, demanding): "I asked you a question." **Goodwin**
(calm, explaining): "The capsule is a manifestation as well." **Colter Stevens** (desperate,
shouting): "Where am I?" **Goodwin** (firm, dismissive): "That's classified." **Colter
Stevens** (furious, shouting): "Fuck you!" **Goodwin** (calm, empathetic): "Captain, I
cannot imagine what you must be feeling right now. But if we're to prevent a second attack,
we need to send you back immediately. And, Captain, you cannot deviate from the mission
while inside the source code, even to investigate your..." **Dr. Rutledge** (interrupting ,
angry): "Even to investigate what happened to you. There's only one continuum on this end
and it can't be unsettled." **colter** (calm, explanatory): "Well, you know what? I did
unsettle it. I called you from the train. Just before the explosion, so at 7:46 this morning, they
paged you with a call from me." **Dr. Rutledge** (firm, dismissive): "You may have made
that call from the train, but I would never receive it here. It's a different reality, Captain. If
the call even went through, it would be received by a different me entirely." **Dr.
Rutledge** (calm, analytical): "This may be difficult for you to hear, but you are a hand on a
clock, understand? We set you, you move forward. We reset you, you move again. And that
represents the entirety of your function here." **Colter Stevens** (angry, sarcastic): "You
know what? Next time I'll send you a pizza! I'll see if that makes an impression!" **Dr.
Rutledge** (firm, authoritative): "You cannot alter the continuum of this reality from within
the source code." **Colter Stevens** (angry, defiant): "This can't be legal, what you're
doing." **Dr. Rutledge** (calm, factual): "In fact, your acquisition by this program as well as
the program itself has been reviewed and sanctioned by military court. Many soldiers would
find this preferable to death. The opportunity to continue serving their country." **Colter
Stevens** (angry, challenging): "Have you spent much time in battle, sir? Huh?" **Dr.
Rutledge** (calm, dismissive): "That's immaterial." **Colter Stevens** (angry, passionate):
"Any soldier I've ever served with would say that one death is service enough." **Dr.
Rutledge** (calm, negotiating): "Fine. You can have that in return for completing this
mission." **Colter Stevens** (suspicious, curious): "Have what?" **Dr. Rutledge** (calm,
offering): "I'll give you what you want. Terminate your service. Let you die." **Dr. Rutledge to
Goodwin** (urgent, firm): "This is taking too long. You've been too easy on him. No more
rest periods." **Dr. Rutledge** (calm, resolved): "I am certain we can find other servicemen
with wounds similar to yours who would consider being a part of this program an honor."
**Colter Stevens** (desperate, pleading): "What? No, wait, what?" **Dr. Rutledge** (calm,
authoritative): "Send him back. Charge the drivers." **Dr. Rutledge** (firm, instructive):
"And Captain Stevens, I'd like you to remember that it's not only about you, but it's also
about two million real-world Americans. Now, you may not value your own life, but I do,
".however, ask that you value theirs

Goodwin** (calm, supportive): "I'm sorry, Captain. I know you're exhausted, and we're all
frustrated, but we cannot fail. You can do this." **Colter Stevens** (defeated, broken): "I
can't. I can't." **Captain Colleen Goodwin** (firm, encouraging): "Yes, you can. You're a born
hero, son. Even your father thinks so. Saving people is what you do best." **Goodwin plays
the recorded sound of his father in colter's funeral** (reflective, emotional): "It was about

regretful): "I just started feeling like he didn't want to come home anymore." **Colter

is on the ground. It appears he has surrendered." **Dr. Rutledge to Goodwin**
(congratulatory, firm): "Congratulations, Captain." **Dr. Rutledge** (calm, satisfied): "In
recent months, Frost started posting anti-government statements on his website." **Dr.
Rutledge to many important people who call him in phone** (serious, assertive): "Yes, sir, it's
a real validation of the program. A clear window into just how revolutionary source code can
be. We finally have a powerful weapon now in the war on terror. Congratulations, Captain. A
job well done." **Captain Stevens** (desperate, seeking assurance): "He's not gonna send
?me back in, is he, Goodwin

:Goodwin ( skeptical)

I'm still waiting on an answer." **Colter** (curious, empathetic): "Are you married,
Captain?" **Goodwin** (friendly, offering): "Um... Joe? Why don't you go take a break? You
deserve to celebrate." **Joe** (calm, declining): "Sure. Can I get you something?"
.**Goodwin to Joe** : "No, I'm fine

:Goodwin to colter on the source code screen

:)playful, apologetic(

.Why? Are you asking me on a date? Sorry. Poor taste

:Colter

"?Are you married

Goodwin** (reflective, honest): "Hmm? No. I am divorced." **Captain Stevens****

(thoughtful, hypothetical): "Do you think there's an alternate version of you? A Goodwin who
made different choices?" **Goodwin** (curious, confused): "What do you mean?"
**Captain Stevens** (thoughtful, hypothetical): "Like, a you who didn't get married and get
divorced. Or just married someone else. A woman who took a different fork in the road."
**Goodwin** (firm, pragmatic): "No, I don't, Captain. What you experienced was a shadow.
It was an afterimage of a victim on a train. This is real life. Here." **Captain Stevens**
(reflective, questioning): "The one where you're talking to a dead helicopter pilot?"
**Goodwin** (firm, pragmatic): "The program wasn't designed to alter the past. It was
designed to affect the future. And you've done that." **Captain Stevens** (desperate,
revealing): "I missed something, Captain. That train shouldn't have blown up. There must
have been a second detonator, something I couldn't see. A fail-safe." **Goodwin** (firm,
realistic): "It's a computer program, Captain. The girl on the train, all the others, they're lost.
I'm sorry about that." **Captain Stevens** (skeptical, sarcastic): "I get it. I get it. I know.
Quantum physics, parabolic calculus. You're wrong, Goodwin. You're just plain wrong."
**Goodwin** (firm, realistic): "Captain, Christina is dead." **Captain Stevens** (hopeful,
determined): "She doesn't have to be, ma'am." **Goodwin** (resigned, offering): "Okay. I'll
ask Rutledge." **Captain Stevens** (pleading, desperate): "I'm asking you, I'm asking you.
"...Just... send me
What he says appears now on the screen to show that colter is only a brain who is (
)connected to device to respond to a computer screen

Goodwin** (firm, final): "Captain. It's your choice. At the end of this source code, I will **
terminate your life support. There will be no coming back." **Captain Stevens**
(determined, resolved, very happy): "I'm gonna save her, Goodwin." **Goodwin**
".(sincerely): "It was an honor, Captain. And I thank you for your service. Good luck

)She presses the enter key to send him to the train for the final time (

Scene 15: ( happy ending)

Christina**: I took your advice. **Colter**: You're gonna move to India, and become a **
guru. **colter**: Careful, ma'am. **Christina**: Yeah, I'm gonna go find myself in the
mountains. **Captain Stevens**: Well, maybe you'll have a cup of coffee with me before you
go. **Christina**: Yeah. I'd like to do that. Put it to the test. **Captain Stevens**: Good.
Let's do it today. Let's just skip work. Bryan can find someone else to assist him.
**Christina**: You know what? **Captain Stevens**: What? **Christina**: I feel really
good. **Captain Stevens**: Why? **Christina**: Because I've been waiting for weeks for
you to ask me for coffee. **Ticket Inspector**: Ticket? **Captain Stevens**: Okay. Just give
me a couple minutes, okay? And I'll be right back. Gotta go save the world. **Christina**
.( humerus): I knew he was a keeper

Captain Stevens will go to the rest room where the bomb is put the he will remove the two(
)mobiles connected to it so it won't explode this time

Captain Stevens**: Excuse me! **Train Announcement**: Beautiful day. Now approaching **
Glenbrook Station. Ticket? **Boy**: Oh, I'm sorry. Sorry. Glenbrook Station, next stop. **Dr
Rutledge in the other side of source code he is talking to important person on the phone**:
You trust the DOD? **Dr Rutledge**: They've got the finances. **Dr Rutledge**: Yeah, well,
sure. Look, if we can get the funding, I guarantee we can have at least... eight source code
projects up and running by the end of the year. **Dr Rutledge**: Really? That many? **Dr
Rutledge**: Maybe more. **the person**: You're a real hero, Dr. Rutledge. **Dr.
Rutledge**: Well, thank you. **Dr. Rutledge**: We did save lives today. **Goodwin**: Yes, a
true victory for the program. **Dr. Rutledge**: A great victory for us all. **Dr. Rutledge**:
We'll talk soon. **Dr Rutledge**: So? Exciting times. **Dr. Rutledge**: Let's initialize the
memory wipe on SC-1, start crunching the data. **Goodwin**: Sir, we told Captain Stevens
that we were gonna let him die. **Dr. Rutledge**: Let him die? He just saved millions of lives
today. How many other disasters might he avert down the line? For all we know, he may be
the only candidate with which the system works. So, let's clear his memory and reinitialize
source code. Shall we? **Goodwin**: Yes, sir. **Captain Stevens**: Sorry, I just dropped...
**Captain Stevens**: Hey, Derek! This isn't your stop. Hey, mister! You dropped this. Come
.on back here

Captain Stevens will now cuff Derek Forrest hand on a pole inside the train with cuffs he (
)stole from the train conductor

Captain Stevens**: Oops. **Captain Stevens**: Derek, it's over. You understand?**
**Captain Stevens calling the police in the mobile**: Hey. My name is Derek Frost. I planted
a nuclear device in a white van parked in the Glenbrook Station CCR parking lot. Right now
I'm handcuffed to a pole on the 944 CCR train headed to Chicago Union Station. I am a sick
and pathetic human being. And I need to be locked away for a very long time. **Captain
Stevens**: Okay. Derek, there's no more burying the world in rubble today. You mind if I
borrow this? **Goodwin's assistant to Goodwin**: Captain, some of the guys and I are
?gonna go celebrate. And... Do you want me to initiate the memory wipe, Captain

)Captain Stevens is calling his father now from the mobile but in Sean's character (

Captain Stevens**: Hello, Captain. **Mr. Stevens**: Hello? Donald Stevens? **Captain **
Stevens**: Yes? **Mr. Stevens**: My name is Sean Fentress. **Mr. Stevens**: Who?
**Captain Stevens**: I served with your son, Colter. **Mr. Stevens**: Oh, boy. **Captain
Stevens**: It's... I'm sorry it's taken me so long to call you. Sometimes it just takes a while to
figure out what you want to say. You know? **Mr. Stevens**: Don't be too hard on yourself. I
imagine it's not an easy call to make. How are you doing, sir? **Mr. Stevens**: Well, all that
came back was some ash. It's hard to believe that it was him. How well did you know him?
**Captain Stevens**: I was there when he died, sir. He said that the last time that you guys
talked was tough, and he wanted to say that he was sorry. **Mr. Stevens**: I just want him
.back. I loved him so much. **Mr. Stevens**: I wish you could have told him that

Captain Stevens: He knows it. You take care, Mr. Stevens. **Christina**: You okay? **Captain
.Stevens**: Yeah

Christina: Save the world? **Captain Stevens**: Sort of. **Captain Stevens**: So, where
were we? **Christina**: Getting some coffee. **Angry passenger**: What? Shit. What's so
damn hard about it? I run a business, okay? Everything moves on time or people get fired.
That's the way it works in the real world. Ten minutes. **Captain Stevens**: Hey, buddy?
Don't sweat the small stuff. You'll drown. **the passenger**: Thank you for that moment of
.Zen, but nobody was talking to you

:Another passenger ( Max)

.What, are you selling self-help CDs today? Why don't you just mind your own business

Dr. Rutledge on the other side of source code he is angry because Goodwin will shut **
captain Stevens down**: Security? Get me a detachment of MPs here this instant! **Captain
?Stevens**: Why are you always so bitter, Max

Max: It's a bitter world we live in, my friend. What do you want from me? **Captain
Stevens**: It doesn't have to be. I will bet you $100 you can't make all these people on this
.train laugh. **Max** skeptical: Oh. Right. Actually

:Captain Stevens

you know what? 126 bucks. **Max**: Is that your way of making fun of me? I guess you
.have a better gig. **Captain Stevens**: Never mind

Max taking the money: No, no. I'm good. Easiest money ever. Come on. **Max**: Excuse
...me, people. One of our fellow passengers has decided to offer me some money to

:Christina to Captain Stevens

What has gotten into you today? You're like a different person. **Captain Stevens**: It's the
new me. **Christina**: I like it. **Dr. Rutledge in the source code other side and he is very
angry**: I am going to prosecute you to the full extent of the law. **Max telling something
funny to make people on train laugh**: Women always mess up my last name. I was with a
girl the other night and she kept calling me "Getoff." She was like, "Getoff! Getoff!" I'm like,
"No, Denoff, Denoff." She says, "No, you're fat and you're heavy. Get off!" **Goodwin**:
Good? Twenty seconds. Make it ten. **Captain Stevens**: Goodwin? Look at all this. It's
good to see you, ladies, up this early in the morning. **Christina**: What? **Captain
Stevens**: Michelle. Barack. All this life. **Dr. Rutledge**: Goodwin. Open this door.
**Captain Stevens**: Put those headphones on. I wanna see them stretch. **Christina**:
Why do you keep looking at your watch? **Captain Stevens**: Christina, what would you do
.if you knew you had less than a minute to live? **Christina**: I'd make those seconds count

:**Captain Stevens

I'd kiss you again. **Christina**: Again? **Christina**: Mmm. **Dr. Rutledge**: Goodwin,
open this goddamn door! He's done enough, Doctor. **Captain Stevens**: And, I'm on the
.train... Everything's gonna be okay

He kisses her and the train doesn't explode this time and Goodwin on the other side of the (
source code terminates him.. so he doesn't die but remains as Captain Stevens but in Sean's
)body
Radio Announcer**: It is a beautiful Monday in Chicago today. Temperatures expected to **
reach the lower 60s. Right now 55 at the lakefront, 54 at Midway, 53 at O'Hare. And now, up
**in the sky, we've got... **Christina to Captain Stevens

He earned that money. **Captain Stevens****: Yeah, he did. **Christina**: He was :**
.funny. **Captain Stevens****: Speaking of which, I have no cash. **Christina**: Great

:**Captain Stevens

Come here. I wanna show you something. **Captain Stevens**: Such a beautiful day, isn't it?
**Christina**: Yeah. It is a really perfect day. **Captain Stevens**: Do you believe in fate?
**Christina**: Not really. I'm more of a dumb luck kind of gal. **Captain Stevens**: Come
here. **Christina**: Wow. **Christina**: So what do you wanna do today? **Captain
Stevens**: I think we should stay here for a while. This feels like exactly where we're
supposed to be, doesn't it? **Radio Announcer**: Las Vegas' number one morning news
follows. It's 72 degrees on a cloudy Monday morning. This is News Radio 840KX in North Las
Vegas. **Goodwin**: Good morning, Joe. **Joe**: Good morning, Captain. **Goodwin
receives a message on her mobile**: Lilly awoke in an evening dress and an opera cloak. In
her hand were five playing cards. **Captain Stevens in the received message**: At some
point today, you're gonna hear about a failed terrorist attack on a commuter train near
Chicago. You and I kept that bomb from going off. **Radio Announcer**: An attempted
bombing on a CCR train outside Chicago. But it was thwarted, and the suspect was found on
board, named Derek Frost. **Dr. Rutledge**: Anything I can help you with? **Captain
.Goodwin**: No, that's fine. I'll come back later

:**Dr. Rutledge**

Keep an eye out. One of these days the right crisis is going to rear its head and Source Code
is going to have its moment in the sun. **Goodwin**: Yes, sir. **Email Voiceover (Captain
Stevens on the sent message)**: If you're reading this email, then Source Code works even
better than you and Dr. Rutledge imagined. You thought you were creating eight minutes of a
past event, but you're not. You've created a whole new world. Goodwin, if I'm right,
somewhere at the Source Code facility you have a Captain Colter Stevens waiting to be sent
on a mission. Promise me you'll help him. And when you do, do me a favor. Tell him
.everything is gonna be okay
