Lesson Plan

Subject:Mathematics
Teacher’s Name: Sadia Spell: Final
Pg# (69-73),Chapter #
4
Topic: Integers,
Rational Numbers,
Real-numbers

Level/Sec: 6 Hifz Week: 1st Lesson#:1

Resource Material: Think! Mathematics Book (8th Edition), Notebooks, Av-aids, UBS,
White board, board marker , Board Eraser ,Smart Board
Step:1 Warm up Session
Good Morning ! Assalam-o-Alikum Dear Students ! How are you all ? Chit
Developing growth
Chat with students and ask about their study routine and their interest ?How
mindset of the you spend your Winter vacations?Do you like this foggy weather I bring
back their mind set towards studies Now lets we start our topic asking
students towards new
students some quick mental math questions to refresh their understanding of
learning. Numbers , Even numbers and odd numbers . Students will be asked to work
individually and write their responses in their notebooks.
Effort leads to Success
Then I give few examples related to give in quotation .
Then I give introduction of the book Think ! New Syllabus Mathematics 8 th
Edition . Introduce chapter opener with the Students and motivate them
to seek new learning techniques. How we perform operations with
numbers ?
Step:2 By the end of the lesson, students will be able
Setting Learning
 Understand the concept of integers and identify positive integers, negative
Objectives (of new integers, and zero
 Represent integers on a number line
topic)
 Compare and order integers using symbols >,<,=
 Perform operations on integers (addition, subtraction, multiplication, and
division)
 Compare and order rational numbers
p
 Define rational numbers and express them in the form , where q≠0
q
 Identify rational numbers in different forms (fractions, decimals, and
integers)
 How negative is different from mius ?

Step:3
Analyzing student’s strengths and weaknesses for equal group’s
formation. (Only Required when group activity is planned)

Step:4 Ask students some questions from the students :

 What are whole numbers, Even numbers, Odd numbers?

 How we apply basic operations (addition, Subtraction, Multiplication
Assessing prior and division)
knowledge:  What is the highest peak of the world ?
 What is the difference between negative and positive temperature?
 Which is the highest and lowest temperature?

Step:5 Communication Today we are going to learn about

Integers , Rational Numbers
 Topic announcement
 Meaning ( Whole numbers , either ( A numbers that can be expressed as
Positive , negative or zero) a fraction positive , negative or zero)
 Definition
“Integers are whole numbers ,either positive,
negative or zero without fractions or decimals”
Examples : …,-3,-2,-1,0,1,2,3,…
Rational numbers are numbers that can be
a
expressed as a fraction , where a and b are
b
integers and b≠0”

Examples:- , , 0,5.

Board/LED
Step:6 Coordination
(Incorporate New
Content with previous
knowledge)
 Concept Map
 Reading &
Explanation
 Discussion
Step:7 Collaboration  Form groups of 3 to 5 students.
 Each group will receive a different pairs of numbers (e.g., 12 & 18, 24 &
(Practice by doing)
36, 15 & 20).
 Group Activity  For each pair, the group must:
 Find and write all the factors of both numbers.
(If required):
 Identify the common factors, then circle the HCF.
 List the first five multiples of both numbers.
 Identify the common multiples, then circle the LCM.
 Each group will write their final answers on a notebook showing:
 Steps for HCF and LCM then find final answer

Step:8 Presentation  Each group will:

 Select one pair of numbers from their notebook.
 Present the following:
(If required):  The factors and common factors
 The multiples and common multiples
 Final answers: HCF and LCM
 Method used (listing, prime factorization, etc.)
 A real-life example where either HCF or LCM would be applied.

Step:9 The topics through a combination of direct questioning, problem-solving

Evaluation against set tasks, and group discussions.
1)What is HCF? What is LCM? Give one example of each.
learning objectives 2) Find the HCF and LCM of 20 and 30. Show your steps clearly.
(Teacher will assess the 3)What is the difference between a factor and a multiple?
students by
recapitulating
the topic):
Step:10 Learn by Correcting the mistakes (While recapitulating the knowledge if student
will make any mistake so these mistakes will be pointed out & corrected by other
students as well as
by the teachers)
Homework Do practice of Exercise 1C Q# (11,12,13,14) on rough
Register .
