Post-Presentation Reflection Activity: “Human
Rights and Me”
Part 1 — Thinking Bigger: Human Rights in General
Prompt A: What Are Human Rights Really For? Write a short paragraph answering: - Why do you think
humans created “human rights” in the first place? - Do you think human rights are something we’re born
with, or something society gives us? - Is there a difference? Why might that matter?
Prompt B: The “Invisible” Rights Think of a human right that people often take for granted. - What would
life be like if that one right disappeared suddenly? - How would it change your day? Your community?
Humanity as a whole?
Prompt C: Fairness vs. Equality Human rights are supposed to apply to everyone equally. - Is “fair”
always the same as “equal”? - Give an example of a situation where treating everyone the exact same
might actually be unfair.
Part 2 — Personal Connection
Prompt D: Rights in Your World - Which human right feels most important to you personally right now?
Why? - Has there ever been a moment when you felt one of your own rights was ignored or
overlooked? How did that make you feel?
Optional Extension: - Is there a right you wish existed that currently doesn’t?
Part 3 — Reflecting on the Presentation You Created
Prompt E: Your Learning - What is one thing you learned about your chosen human right that surprised
you? - If you had to explain why this right matters to a 6-year-old, what would you say?
Prompt F: Strengths & Improvements - What part of your presentation are you most proud of? - If you
could add or revise one part, what would improve your presentation the most?
Prompt G: Emotional Reaction - How did researching this violation make you feel? Why do you think
you reacted that way? - Did your emotional response help or challenge your learning?
