Abstract

This project proposes the design and implementation of a Voice-Controlled Home Automation
System that allows users to operate household appliances through simple spoken commands.
The system combines speech recognition, Internet of Things (IoT) technologies, and
microcontroller-based control to enhance convenience, accessibility, and energy efficiency in
modern homes. Using affordable hardware such as Arduino or Raspberry Pi integrated with
voice interfaces like Google Assistant or a custom recognition module, the project aims to create
a practical, low-cost automation solution adaptable to a wide range of users.

The motivation behind this project stems from the growing demand for smart living solutions
that simplify everyday tasks and improve accessibility for individuals with disabilities or limited
mobility. By enabling intuitive, hands-free operation of devices such as lights, fans, and security
systems, the system demonstrates how voice technology can make home environments more
intelligent and inclusive.

The project emphasizes modular design, scalability, and ease of implementation, allowing future
expansion and customization. It also provides valuable hands-on experience in IoT systems,
embedded programming, and artificial intelligence, equipping students with essential technical
and problem-solving skills for emerging smart technology applications.
