What is the purpose of supply chain unit?

It provides address validation and warehouse and what kind of roles it is do. Like receiving office or
warehouse like kind of things now we enter into the warehouse.

Last class we have seen outside only now we can see inside of the warehouse.

We can see inside of warehouse some racks and some shop floor also we can see.

These kind of small racks also we can see

One shop floor we can see here this is the shop floor we can see.

See if we see here this side, big racks are there this side, big racks are there. In between there shop
floor and kind of things, say here the next concept is storage type if we read from right side type of
storage.

If we see this area we can split three storage locations, how we can understand means if we go to
authorized store like central and ETC.

Say men one storage type, women sees some other accessories some storage locations ETC or else if
we go to any super market any food, one side storage type another some other articles some
storage type if we go to any automobile warehouse and ETC. normally they can segregate into say
engine parts one area, body eleven parts another area tyres and ETC some other area and glasses
and bumpers some other area like kind of things they can arrange as per the convenient they go
with the storages those are representing the storage types.

Now we see what are the storage types.

We are going to EWM environment.

Some 34 entries are there copied from existing warehouse.

Now come to storage section.

Section is nothing but one storage type some casuals, jeans, formals are there that is the section.

Now we are going to our own several sections are there

If we go with deletions see assignments & sections ETC are there. So what I can do first sections I can
assign and reassign those.

We are going to create our own ware house JLWM is our warehouse some several sections are there
select all click delete option.

Now again come to storage types

Go to ware house number.

Enter JLWM and click choose

This button is select all and delete and save. Click new entries

Now we are going to our own warehouse our own storage types first two rack.

Coming to this storage type it is divided into 5 area this storage area plays entire EWM module this is
only the KEY ORG ELEMENT.

General area (general control)

PUTAWAY CONTROL means while moving the product into the storage.

Stock removal control is there we are picking the product what are the control parameter we can
see here.

Goods movement control just any product we are moving into the in that case any control
parameter are there.
And replenishment ETC are the control parameters.

The very first thing we can discuss some parameters

storage type roles

if we open the twelve roles are there this roles are SAP standard one it is not possible to delete the
existing roles it is not possible to create the new roles as well we need to proceed with these twelve
roles only.

Now we draw our ware house

See here two doors are there one for receiving and one for issuing.

These are the standard there is no special kind of things, normal behaviour.

The next one is A Identification point we can say that I want to move one product from here to this
before that what I can do I move one of the intermediate storage type some lagging work or else
some visual inspections are some that is ID type.
Whenever I want to vary product, say here I want to receive product.

Normally I want to move this product to here.

But I want to carry once or do some visual inspection first I move to here.

Then here I moved so, this is the identification number.

Now pick point just reverse say for example

Some products are there I want to send the customer.

Instead of moving directly to door area.

What I can do first I move to here the same visual inspection or else any tagging activities not able to
ETC I can do it this is the pick point.
Identification and pick point our ware house is small I don’t have much time separate id point and
separate pick point. In that case what I can do I maintain a common one.

This act as a ID POINT this act as a pick point same type. My ware house is small I don’t have enough
space I go with enough space and ETC.
STAGING AREA GROUP in business terminology it is nothing but docking area whenever the trucks
come we unload the product and keep there from there we move to the storage areas and ETC.

Say here docking area these are the doors this is the docking area.
This is the docking area and ETC. from outside truck comes here we unload and place it here.

That is nothing but staging area.

Now come to our warehouse I am maintaining two docking areas.

One is for create GR, means receiving side.

Another one is for issuing side. See here near by the door is staging area group.
Now WORK CENTER is nothing but a storage type a table or shop floor where we execute the
packing repacking activity or else any inspection activity kind of things WORK CENTER we can see

See here some executives are packing this is the WORK CENTER.
These also a WORK CENTER either we can use a table this is also a WORK CENTER or else shop floor.

If those are all big what we can do on the shop floor we can do.
See here only we can do everything these nothing but WORK CENTER.

See we raise a sales order for workers what we need to pack four products.

Like this in our warehouse this yellow product is placed here and green product is placed here.

First whenever we receive this product.

First into staging area group

Then we move to WORK CENTER here re packing it.

This area is nothing but WORK CENTER or else reverse say for example one customer asked one
green product and one yellow product here

We packed together

And move to GI staging area side.

And move to here that WORK CENTER also a storage type.

Now next role is DOORS

For EXAMPLE this product is there I want to un load this point unload is a one task. Task means every
task having source and destination now say here I am doing unloading.

Here what is the destination here staging area now come to here source is door for that what we do
we create some virtual door storage types. We create some bins and ETC.
See here this virtual door is the source destination is storing area and

now come to here say for example loading activity see this is the staging area, goods issuing area is
the source.

And destination is here

This is shutter not virtual doors that is also a storage location.

Come to YARD is nothing but outside of the warehouse.

This is the YARD out side of the warehouse.

Why useful means I want to track check in and check out of the vehicle where the security post I
want to track when the vehicle is arrived. When the loading is started when the loading is ended and
ETC kind of things, so yard also a storage location.

Automatic storage retrieval (material flow control): say some very big ware houses they maintain
automated everything instead of manual PUTAWAY they use some machinery that machinery also a
storage.

If we see two racks some railing is there this machinery is there this automatically it may be now
come to here why this is required for storage role.

Say for example I want to execute put away for PUTAWAY final destination is the final storage type
this is the final one to complete the TASK.

What is the source task? Source is nothing but this system so that machine also required a storage.

Now coming to PICKING.

Source is this one wooden box but what is the destination that is nothing but this machine, so that
machine also a storage type it can move vertically and horizontally without any manual interaction
this is a storage type.

Know come to WORK CENTER in staging area group say my ware house is small I don’t have separate
table and ETC. whatever packing unpacking here only I can.

This area decided as a WORK CENTER and staging area.

Automated Warehouse (controlled by MFS) MFS stands for material flow system is nothing but
conveyor system

y for example I want to do PUTAWAY if I want to pick product source is rack and conveyor belt is

hin this conveyor they can decide as each point has some bins, why it is required means say for
example it is moving we want to know that this point crossed, and this point is crossed like kind of
things we use some technical terminology telegram in the system.

Production supply say for example we are using very big premises we are doing manufacturing
process against this manufacturing activities we need to provide some components.

say for example some cafe machine is there COEFFE beans are required that machine area is treated
as production supply that is also storage type.
Say for example This area is there

One corner some machinery is there we are executing PUTAWAY say here in this machine using
yellow products or green products to full fill this manufacturing components we make ready.

From here we move some yellow one and we move this some green one.

W.R.T production order and prepare this kind of product.

See here against this production order we are keeping some products ready this area also calling as
production supply area.

After completion of production we move to the storage area, so this is also a staging area we can call
that as staging means temporarily.

Coming to here HU requirement

What is meant by HU? Is nothing but handling unit as per the definition wise A packaging material +
products or product with an unique identification number from images say for example.

Say for example carton box with labels we can say this is a handling unit why because carton box Is a
packing material with in this some products are there some unique identification number only one
time we can use that number not against this one.

This one pallet for example these are wooden ETC this is calling as a pallet if we see here one pallet
is there on top of it some product are there store pack these are the examples of handling unit.
Say here I have one storage type HU requirement activated but only HU’s can store these.

Now I am trying to store some loose bottles system cannot allow us in the form of HU we can store
this.

Next one another storage type HU allowed not mandatory means products & HU’s both can store
now I am bringing some HU and loose products as well both I can store.

Third option HU not allowed means only products can use say here I am trying to bring HU, HU
cannot allowed only with in the content we can store.

Now come to here quantity classification is nothing but alternate unit of measure that is very simple
to understand.
Say here products are there this one is called as 1 each. If this is packing in carton box always 20
inches in that case one carton of this box also.

Again this boxes are packing in one pallet means internally 12 carton boxes 240.

Only these can be used at this area.

Next coming to here PUTAWAY control

This is the PUTAWAY. Placing the material or box into blue area zone from gr receiving point.

Confirm PUTAWAY confirm put away means

Once after moving this I am expecting a confirmation. So I am ticking this.

One button is there [Link]/ put away completed

Now assume that we have work CENTER now one product comes from outside some ERP using area
Can I say here my PUTAWAY is completed then I move to re packing and packing then I say
PUTAWAY completed.

Then I move to identification point can I say put away completed.

Now we go to final product.

Now for final destination we need to tick and this button is co related with some delete stock
identification.

Now what is delete stock identification.

If we are receiving here

If one material is there move to work CENTER

move to some identification points.

Move to here while moving internally with in the stock identification is maintained just like I am
travelling from Hyderabad to Mumbai in between my bus is going to Sholapur first then PUNE.
Should I throw my ticket once I reach the Sholapur. Should I throw my ticket on the bus ticket on
PUNE no, once after reaching the Mumbai should I throw my bus ticket. Bus ticket is nothing but our
journey identification in PUTAWAY until unless we reach final destination is one. Here

addition to existing stock-entry bin then we can go with another one.

Say here three tins are there rice tins each tin capacity 10 kg’s in first tin 5 kg’s of rice is there if I
bring same quality of rice instead of another 5 kg’s or another 10 kg’s instead of using second tin
directly I can fill up to first maximum level then I go for the second means addition to existing stock.
Empty bin say here even though we have place here we are not considering we are moving to new
bin I.E nothing but empty bin.

Third one is the general stores general means open store, say for examples this work CENTERS, ID
points Normally we don’t have any racks and ETC even, here GR clearing area that is shop floor same
we can follow in the general PUTAWAY.

Say here PUT AWAY quantity classification, say one more prerequisite how it is going to store either
each cases or pallet ETC.

Now coming to here my products are coming as loose products, carton boxes 1 type, pallets some
types according to quantity classification I want to store in different area.
Means that product is coming as huge products if those are coming carton boxes I use those kind of
things if those are coming as pallet I use this means according to quantity classification system is
proposing us suitable storage types, see here very simple we have different is there some 1 litre oil
if we it can be near by to the gas by area some small, 10 oil tins those are packed as carton box we
don’t have space in that kitchen area it is beside the gas stove and ETC. we can keep it some other
place like that.

Product is same sometimes it is coming as single, sometimes it is coming as packed one according to
that we are going to this one. That is nothing but put away quantity classification.

Doing the PUT AWAY what are the influence factors any way we have several processes.
Confirm stock removal once after removing it this one stock removal.

Coming to the goods movement control at the beginning we can give 002 and mandatory check box.

We can blindly give 002 and mandatory.

Now I want goods receiving storage type and goods issue storage point.
Now go to define storage type click new entries

Say here JLWM my warehouse and JLGR storage type.

Now I want to create a storage type role which role I has to select.

Now confirm put away Means coming from inside to outside that is also a put away.

Confirm removal activate and PUT AWAY rule which one I want to select
General storage area just select for put away rule for GR STAGING AREA GROUP.

Should I select put away completed box no why because bus stand is not our destination.

Now save it.

Copy from existing

JLGI just same role and ETC.

Now we have created 4 storage types 2 are RACKS, according to process and we created several
types.

Work CENTERS we come ETC some more racks we required, some more Carton box we required
pallet we required at that time again and again we can select initial we are going with two racks and
storage locations.

Next level is storage section if we go to some super market 1 section normal food is there, one
section frozen is there that is another section kind of things ETC.

Very simple to understand the section according to business rule and ETC.

If we go to automobile warehouse engine for they are maintaining one storage location within that
one section they are using clutch cable, brake cable like kind of things they are using piston and ETC
another section, clutch plate gear box some other sections according to that area according to that
business we need to go for the section.

Now we can create at this movement 2-2 sections.

12 roles are there we cannot create or we cannot delete our new roles depending on the business
we go with the combined roles we go with the WORK CENTER, PUT AWAY completed indicator only
for final storage. Not for the staging area group not for intermediate these are the bullet points.
