Details of Learning Activities
This course is delivered in Blended Learning mode in Vietnam
campuses.
The teaching/learning experience in this course is a combination of
blended learning lectures (2 hours per week*) and interactive digital
tutorials (1 hour per week*). Only one class per week consisting of a
2-hour face-to-face session.
Lectures will introduce fundamental warehousing and distribution
management concepts, applicable in a domestic and a global
context. Students may have in-depth interactions and further
discussions in areas such as lecture content, case studies,
assignments or recent (domestic/global) events that impact the
warehousing and distribution industries.
Students are strongly encouraged to keep abreast with the industry
developments by reading relevant articles from current transport and
logistics publications, newspapers, and Internet websites, with
special focus on warehousing and distribution channel management
developments.
Students are also encouraged to browse relevant YouTube clips as
there are excellent video clips on warehouse operations as well as
successful case studies of distribution channel management.

Other Information
Penalties for Late Submission
Late submissions of assignments without special consideration or an
approved extension will automatically receive a penalty deduction of
marks. Late submissions will be penalized at a rate of 10% of the total
possible marks for the assessment, per day late, and is calculated on
an ‘hourly’ basis, regardless of whether the submission is seconds or
minutes late after the designated deadline. This means that a penalty
of 0.42% of the total possible mark for the assessment, per hour, will
be applied to a late submission. For example,
Scenario 1: If an assignment is worth 100 marks and is submitted 1
day late, a penalty of 10% or 10 marks will apply. This will be
deducted from the assessed mark.
Scenario 2: If an assignment is worth 100 marks and is submitted 30
minutes late, a penalty of 0.42% or 0.42 marks will apply. This will be
deducted from the assessment mark.
Scenario 3: If an assignment is worth 100 marks and is submitted 3
hours late, a penalty of 1.26% or 1.26 marks will apply. This will be
deducted from the assessment mark.

Extensions and Special Consideration
Extensions:
· Extensions are available for unforeseen circumstances of a short-
term nature.
· Applications must be submitted to the school at least one working
day before the due date of the assessment.
· Extensions can be approved for a maximum of one week (seven
calendar days) past the due date for an assessment. (Where
students need an extension exceeding one week they must instead
apply for special consideration.)
Special consideration:
· Special consideration is available for unexpected circumstances
outside students’ control. These include but are not limited to:
unexpected short-term ill health, and unavoidable family, work,
cultural or religious commitments.
· An application for special consideration is made in advance of an
assessment wherever possible but will normally be accepted within
five working days after the assessment date. · For more information,
see the Special Consideration page on the RMIT website.
Changes to the Assessment Scheme
Where a change to assessment, approved by the Dean/Head of
School, changes an assessment due date, students will be given at
least five working days’ notice of the new due date.
Assessment Feedback
You can expect to receive marks and feedback on in-course
assessment work in time to improve your performance in related
assessment tasks later in the course.
· You will normally receive marks and feedback on in-course
assessment tasks within 10 working days of the deadline for
submission of that work, or, where an extension has been granted,
within 10 working days of agreed extended due date.
Academic Integrity and Misconduct
Students demonstrate academic integrity in their assessment
practices by:
· engaging with assessment activities in an honest way;
[Link] 5/17
2/8/26, 7:23 PM Class
· providing accountability for the authorship and originality of work
submitted;
· acknowledging the work of others and the re-use of original work.
Academic misconduct is addressed in accordance with the Student
conduct policy
Assessment involving research with human participants, their
information or their tissue, or animal subjects is carried out in
accordance with the Staff ethics and integrity policy. For further
information see the Academic Integrity website.
Review and Appeal A student may request a review of an assessment
result or appeal a final course grade in accordance with the Conduct
of Assessment and Appeals section of the assessment processes.
Students are entitled to seek a review of their result for a course, or
appeal against their final result in the course, where they provide
evidence that at least one of the following grounds of review or
appeal is present:
· there’s been an error in the calculation of the result, or
· the assessment(s) didn’t comply with the description of the
assessment or the assessment criteria published in the course guide,
or
· the assessment(s) or the assessment criteria published in the
course guide aren’t consistent with the requirements of the relevant
training package or accredited course, or
· the assessment didn’t comply with the assessment policy or
processes or another relevant rule or University policy (that is, there’s
been an error in process), and this had a significant impact on the
result.
Where a student has evidence of at least one of the approved
grounds, they must first ask the course coordinator/program
manager responsible for the course to review the final grade for the
course.
· Students are recommended to request these reviews within five
working days from the publication of the result, so they will still have
time to appeal the result if necessary.
· Where the course coordinator/program manager isn’t available the
student may ask the Dean/Head of School to review the result.
Grade Criteria
High Distinction (HD) 80 – 100%
[Link] 6/17
2/8/26, 7:23 PM Class
Exceptionally clear understanding of subject matter and appreciation
of issues; well organised, formulated and sustained arguments; well
thought out and structured diagrams; relevant literature referenced.
Evidence of creative insight and originality in terms of
comprehension, application and analysis with at least some synthesis
and evaluation.
Distinction (DI) 70 – 79%
Strong grasp of subject matter and appreciation of key issues,
perhaps lacking a little on the finer points; clearly developed
arguments; relevant and well-structured diagrams; appreciation of
relevant literature. Evidence of creative and solid work in terms of
comprehension, application, analysis and perhaps some synthesis.
Credit (CR) 60 – 69%
Competent understanding of subject matter and appreciation of
some of the main issues though possibly with some gaps; clearly
developed arguments; relevant diagrams and literature use, perhaps
with some gaps; well prepared and presented. Solid evidence of
comprehension and application with perhaps some analysis.
Pass (PA) 50 – 59%
Some appreciation of subject matter and issues; work generally
lacking in depth and breadth and with gaps. Often work of this grade
comprises a simple factual description (i.e. basic comprehension) but
little application or analysis. Work of this grade may be poorly
prepared and presented. Investment of greater care and thought in
organising and structuring work would be required to improve.
Fail (NN) 0 – 49%
Evidence of lack of understanding of subject (minimal or inadequate
comprehension and little or no application) and inability to identify
issues. Often inadequate in depth and breadth. Sometimes
incomplete or irrelevant.

Vietnamese manufacturer of high-quality technological gadgets and
devices. SXEC's factory is located in Saigon Hi-Tech Park near Ho Chi
[Link] 10/17
2/8/26, 7:23 PM Class
Minh City (HCMC), and they need expert assistance to optimize their
distribution channels across their three target markets: Ho Chi Minh
City, Da Nang, and Ha Noi.
Currently, SXEC distributes its products through two primary
channels:
1. Traditional retail stores
2. An online e-commerce platform
Despite these existing channels, the company is not maximizing its
sales potential and seeks innovative strategies to enhance and
expand its distribution network. As part of their corporate
sustainability initiative, SXEC has pledged to align with Vietnam's
2022 National Climate Change Strategy, committing to help reduce
greenhouse gas emissions by 43.5% by the year 2030.
What You Need to Do...
Your assignment is to develop a comprehensive plan to revamp
SXEC's distribution channels, taking into consideration:
• Current market dynamics in Vietnam's technology
sector
• Sustainability targets aligned with national climate
goals
• Evolving consumer behavior and preferences
• Geographical challenges and opportunities within the
three target cities
Since SXEC is a fictitious company created for this assignment, you
should research a similar real-world company that distributes
technological products throughout Vietnam as a model for your
analysis. This research will provide you with realistic insights and
credible sources for your references and citations. Note that you will
not be graded on which company you choose to model your analysis
after—this decision is entirely up to you.

[Link] 13/17
2/8/26, 7:23 PM Class
Due date: Week 12 – Friday 22 May 2026, at 11:59 pm (23:59)
Word count: 2000 +10% = 2200
Purpose: To prepare students for future employment experience,
requiring them to improve KPI (Key Performance Indicators) that may
not be performing as expected, as well as implement sustainability
elements into their company's warehouse operations.
The Task:
VinaTalks Corporation has expanded significantly since 2010, now
operating an omnichannel distribution network serving both B2B
retailers and direct-to-consumer e-commerce orders through its
online platform, "[Link]". With Vietnam's rapid digital
transformation and tightening environmental regulations, the
company faces new operational challenges, including same-day
delivery expectations in major cities, sustainable packaging
requirements, and integration with popular Vietnamese e-commerce
platforms such as Tiki, Lazada, and Shopee.
The Board of Directors now seeks a 12% reduction
in overall logistics
costs for 2025-2026, while improving customer satisfaction and
meeting new sustainability standards set by the Vietnamese Ministry
of Natural Resources and Environment.
SUSTAINABILITY INTEGRATION REQUIREMENT
As part of Vietnam's commitment to the United Nations Sustainable
Development Goals (SDGs) and increasing corporate environmental
responsibility, your improvement plan must demonstrate how
proposed solutions contribute to sustainable warehouse operations.
Your analysis should specifically address:
• SDG 9 (Industry, Innovation and Infrastructure): How
technology and innovation improvements enhance
sustainable warehouse practices
• SDG 11 (Sustainable Cities and Communities) : Impact
of delivery efficiency and urban logistics on
community sustainability
• SDG 12 (Responsible Consumption and Production) :
Packaging optimization, waste reduction, and
resource efficiency measures
• SDG 13 (Climate Action): Carbon footprint reduction
strategies and energy efficiency improvements
Your recommendations must balance operational efficiency with
environmental responsibility, demonstrating that sustainable
practices can simultaneously improve KPI performance and reduce
costs. Consider Vietnamese environmental regulations, local market

expectations, and VinaTalks' corporate social responsibility
objectives when developing your improvement strategies.
Your task is to produce a KPI Improvement/Implementation Plan for
improving each of the KPIs that were identified in the report provided
by the General Manager of Operations of VinaTalks Corporation
during your last performance review. This written plan includes your
justifications for the improvements based on the theories and best
practices of operating and managing a warehouse, and how they will
impact those KPIs.
