PINNING CEREMONY SPEECH

BS Midwifery Batch 2028

(Walk slowly to the podium, smile, take a breath, then begin softly but
confidently.)

To our respected City Mayor, Hon. Atty. Rolen C. Paulino Jr. -

Committee on Education, City Counselor Hon. Cristabelle Marie C.
Paulino, - our Keynote speaker, Ms. Maria Teresa C. Padilla, To our
President, - President of Gordon College Dr. Imelda DP. Soriano, -

Dean Dr. Victor Quimen Jr., our principal Ms. Maria Sandra Rivera,
our Clinical Practicum Coordinator Ms. Claire I. Cruz, and other
leaders of this institution, to our dedicated instructors, proud
parents, guest and my fellow future midwives — good afternoon.

(Smile, pause, look at the audience)

Standing here today, I feel deeply honored and grateful. - fellow

future midwives - this is our moment — this is our Pinning
Ceremony! — today is more than just a celebration. - It’s a reminder
of how far we’ve come — through sleepless nights, tears, and
sacrifices that only WE truly understand.

(Pause, emotional tone)

Our 2 years journey as BS Midwifery students has never been easy.

- We faced challenges — academic struggles, - financial difficulties, -
emotional battles — and there are moments when we almost gave up.
But still — we chose to rise again.

(Pause, look up proudly)

As a mother, yes I am a mother…. As a mother It’s not easy to study

while raising a child. It takes double, even triple the effort. There were
days I also cried, cried silently, asking myself if I could still continue
this journey… but every time I see my daughter, I remember my
purpose… And I remember why I enrolled in this course

(Voice softens, heartfelt tone)

To my daughter- Jeiem, you are my light. - You are my inspiration.

- Every time I feel tired, I think of you — and suddenly, I find my
strength to keep going again - and move forward…..

And to my youngest daughter, Jacynthia, who passed away last

year… this moment is also for you.

(Voice slightly cracks, pause)

You may not be here with me, but I know you’re watching from
above — proud of what your mommy has become.

(Deep breath, look at the audience)

To my partner in life, - thank you for being the wind beneath my

wings. Thank you for always pushing me to be better, - for believing
in me when I doubted myself, and for inspiring me to stay strong and
finish this course. Thank you so much!

(Soft smile, appreciative tone)

To our instructors, thank you for your endless patience and

understanding.

You taught us not only knowledge and skills but also the heart of
being a genuine midwife – that has compassion and dedication for
service.

You inspired us to be better every day. We know that behind every

successful student is a teacher who never gave up on them.

You corrected our mistakes with firmness but also with care. You
believed in our potentials, kahit kami mismo, may mga pagkakataon
na nawawala ang tiwala sa aming sarili.

You spent countless hours checking our requirements, reminding us

that midwifery is not just a profession — it’s a calling. Kahit na meron
din kayong pinagdadaanan, you chose to set that aside so that you
can provide us with quality education. - And today, we stand here
because of your wisdom, guidance, and unwavering dedication.

You are all part of this success, Ma’am and Sir. Thank you for guiding
and molding us into the future midwives we aspire to be.
To our parents, Maraming Salamat po! Your sacrifices, prayers, and
unconditional love for us gave us the strength to continue, the
courage to dream, and the heart to care for others just as you cared
for us.

There were times we couldn’t express it enough — but we see your

sacrifices every day.

n’yong makita kaming magtagumpay.

Behind every midwifery student standing here, there is a parent who

worked hard, prayed harder, and never stopped supporting us. We
may not say it often, but please know — everything we do, every
success we achieve, you are part of it all.
(Pause, look around the audience — connect eyes with fellow students)

And to my fellow BSM students — look at us now. We made it here;

half of our journey is almost done. Malayo pa, pero malayo na
tayo.

We’ve overcome so much — emotionally, mentally, and financially

off course — and we should all be proud of ourselves. Fellow BSM
student - it is time na palakpakan naman natin ang ating sarili!
Madami tayong pinagdaanan, naging singer/songwriter para
makagawa ng kanta for our Human Reproduction subject, sa pag
memorize ng mga checklists for our retdems. Naging dancer, kpop
artists, at marami pang iba. But our most significant role is to
become lifesavers — the calm in the chaos, the hands that bring
comfort, and the hearts that welcome every new life into this world
with love and compassion.

(Raise your voice slightly — motivating tone)

Let this pin remind us of who we are — strong, resilient,

compassionate.

That no matter how difficult the road becomes, we will keep moving
forward because we are meant for this — to care, to serve, and to
bring life with love.
(Pause, look up, smiling proudly)

So never give up! Keep believing. Keep fighting.
Because
one day, when we finally wear our white uniforms as registered
midwives, we can proudly say — lahat ng hirap, lahat ng luha,
naging daan sa tagumpay.

(Smile through emotion, slow and proud delivery)

Congratulations, Bachelor of Science in Midwifery Batch 2028!

We are strong, we are proud, and we are ready to serve with a heart.
Palagi nating piliin maging mabuting mamamayan!

Thank you Almighty One!

Maraming Maraming Salamat Po!

(Pause for applause, hand over heart, then step back slowly with a warm smile.)
