Statement‍‌of Purpose

My name is Roshan Tamang and I was born on 15th January 2005. I am writing this document
to express my true desire to study in Dong-Eui University, South Korea, a Bachelor’s Degree in
Intelligence Computing would be my choice. My passport number is PA2782196 and my
citizenship ID is 25-01-79-02321. I'm writing this statement of purpose to discuss my
educational background, why I chose Dong-Eui University and Korea, and my future
professional goals.

Personal Background

I was raised in Nepal, where I was always attracted to the idea of how technology functions and
how it could influence people's lives. Since my early years, I have always been attracted to the
mobile applications, websites, and computer systems, and I have always wondered how they
were created and how they could solve the real issues. Over time, such a curiosity became a
passion for computing and innovation. I came to understand that technology is not just about
machines—it is about the creation of products that are more user-friendly, that function at higher
speeds, and are more networked.

My folks have supported my educational interest all along. They pressed me to keep my studies
in focus and at the same time, they gave me the liberty to delve into my interest in computers
and digital tools. Their encouragement has been my fuel to set higher goals and seek
opportunities outside Nepal.

Academic Background

I have completed my Secondary Education Examination (SEE) from Aiselu Bhume Secondary
School, scoring a grade point average of 3.45 out of 4.0. Afterward, I completed my +2 studies
at Bishnumati Aawasiya Secondary School where I got a GPA of 3.53 out of 4.0. These
achievements mirror my consistent performance in studies as well as my dedication to the
acquisition of knowledge.

In order to arm myself with sufficient skills for foreign education, I went for the IELTS test and
my overall band was 6.5 with no score less than 6.0. Such a score reflects my ability to
efficiently communicate in English and my preparedness for global study settings.

Gap Explanation

After my high school graduation, I decided to take a year's leave from studies in order to get
some hands-on experience and prepare myself for the upcoming challenges. I confined myself
to personal development, self-discipline, and getting familiar with the responsibilities of real life
throughout this period. I got myself acquainted with elementary coding, I upgraded my
communication skills, and some other skills such as car diving, barista etc . This time frame was
instrumental in letting me see the necessity of the academic-practical balance.
Why Not Study in Nepal

Nepal has quite a number of very good universities, however, the majority of them put much
emphasis on theoretical learning. There is a lack of practical exposure, modern labs, and
worldwide-level teaching methods. For instance, computing courses in Nepal are said to be
devoid of advanced facilities for artificial intelligence, robotics, or big data analysis. Students
mostly learn from books yet they are not provided with enough opportunities to implement their
knowledge in real projects.

Another issue is that Nepali degrees do not have much recognition at the international level, and
graduates face difficulties when they compete for jobs in the global market. Employers in Nepal
also prefer those with international degrees as they bring with them practical skills and a global
perspective. These limitations made me decide to seek education abroad where I can get both
theoretical knowledge and practical skills.

Why South Korea

South Korea is one of the leading innovators and fastest-growing countries when it comes to
technology. It is the birthplace of global giants like Samsung, LG, and Hyundai, which are
pioneers in R&D. The nation’s education system is acclaimed for its academic rigor, practical
learning, and global outlook.

South Korea is also very active in investing in areas like AI, robotics, and digital
entrepreneurship. This, therefore, makes South Korea an ideal place to study Intelligence
Computing, as I will have to face the latest technology and the application of the real world.

Besides studies, South Korea’s culture is equally attractive to me. The characteristics of the
culture such as discipline, hard work, and innovation are very much in line with my personal
goals. The stay in South Korea will enable me to experience a new culture, interact with people
from different backgrounds, and widen my global outlook.

Why Dong-Eui University

Intelligence Computing is what has made me decide to opt for Dong-Eui University. The
curriculum places the most emphasis on the practical side of things, the most advanced
technology, and collaborating at an international level. The University encourages students
through practical classes, opportunities for doing research, and connections with the industry
which is exactly what I want.

Dong-Eui University is also full of great services for foreign students, thus a new environment
adaptation will be easy. I am confident that taking a course here will not only deepen my
knowledge of the subject but also enhance my personal and professional development.

Why Intelligence Computing

The world is turning more and more towards AI, machine learning, and the digital revolution.
Intelligence Computing is the main factor behind this change. By studying this field, I will be able
to figure out how to build intelligent systems, data mining, and create processes that can help
not only in business areas but also in society.

I am especially drawn to technology-based problem-solving areas, the use of AI in business,

and digital entrepreneurship. What I want to do is use these skills to come up with the innovative
projects that will help Nepal to grow digitally.

Career Plans

It is my intention to come back to Nepal and start my career as a digital entrepreneur after I
have completed my studies. I am willing to produce not only the platforms but also the solutions
through which small businesses, students, and communities will be the most effective users of
technology. For instance, I dream of making the digitalization of education easy through some
tools and then there might be applications that will enable local businesses to tap into the global
market.

Using the expertise I will gain in South Korea, I am planning to be a significant part of the digital
transformation process in Nepal. My big dream is to start a company, which will not only focus
on innovating but also be the force behind Nepal’s integration into the global digital economy.

Financial Support

My parents have made up their minds to bear both the educational and the living expenses that
I will incur during the period of my study in South Korea. Their really good financial standing is
what makes it possible for me to give my studies my full concentration without having to worry
about money. They are convinced that I will succeed and therefore investing in my future is not
a question for them.

Declaration and Conclusion

I promise that my only motivation for going to South Korea is to continue my education. I'll follow
the guidelines established by the government and the university. I am excited for this new
chapter at Dong-Eui University, where I hope to acquire the skills and knowledge I need to
accomplish my objectives and support Nepal as it moves forward.

With regards,

Roshan Tamang
