CHAPTER V
SUMMARY, CONCLUSION, RECOMMENDATION
Summary
The researchers studied the existing Palawan State
University – Rizal Campus inventory management system
which is current managed by Mr. Daniel F. Tormo, the
property custodian of the campus. As per observation and
analytical findings of the existing inventory system of
the campus, there is a combination of paper-based and
computerized inventory management system but it is
difficult to monitor and time consuming because of lack
of proper systematic management which added the workload
of the property custodian.
To solve the problem and complexity encountered in
the current inventory management, the researchers
researched on how to make the inventory process smooth
and easy. With the help of former and current property
custodian develops this new system to be implemented if
acceptable, the School Property Inventory Management
System.
This system incorporated key functionalities that
includes registration, updating, management, and data
security. This will help to classify, monitor, and secure
the assets and other resources owned by the Palawan State
University – Rizal Campus.
To model and develop this system, we adopted a
structured approach using the V-model that represent a
graphical Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC). The V-
Model, with its two phases – verification and validation
– guided the development process. The verification phase
encompassed gathering requirements, designing the system,
software, and individual modules, and the writing the
code. The validation phase focused on thorough testing at
various levels, including unit, integration, system, and
acceptance testing. This systematic approach ensures a
robust and well-tested system.
This study used quantitative method approach using
numerical data to analyze, evaluate, and measurable
metrics to ensure efficiency, accuracy, and cost-
effectiveness of the system.
The Palawan State University – Rizal Campus: SPIMMS
was based to the requirements of the user who will
provide the necessary data to manage the SPIMMS
transactions becomes efficient and reliable.
Conclusion
This School Property Inventory Management System
(SPIMSMS) is designed to assists the property custodian
in maintaining accurate inventory transactions. This
system is crucial for securing inventory records,
including fixed assets, consumables, accountability and
withdrawal records, and employee records. SPIMMS will
help to ensure a reliable and secure inventory management
system for the Palawan State University – Rizal Campus.
The Palawan State University – Rizal Campus: SPIMMS
is a system that is more reliable and productive than the
existing system of the campus. It is an automated
generating system to reduce the time-consumption and
workload of the property custodian.
The researchers have thoroughly tested the SPIMMS,
confirming that all functions are operating correctly.
The proponents guaranteed that the Palawan State
University – Rizal Campus: SPIMMS could offers numerous
advantages over the current inventory management system.
Recommendation
To ensure the smooth and effective use of Palawan
State University – Rizal Campus: SPIMMS (School Property
Inventory Monitoring and Management System), the
researchers recommend assigning individual with relevant
knowledge and experience to manage the system at Palawan
State University – Rizal Campus. This will allow for easy
navigation and utilization of the system’s capabilities.
This are included to the recommendation:
A.) The proponents may consider presenting the SPIMMS
to the Palawan State University – Rizal Campus for
potential implementation within the campus.
B.) The proponents may consider providing a
comprehensive training for the user(s) of the
system to ensure its proper implementation and
understanding. This training should cover all
aspects of the system, from data entry and updates
to generating reports and utilizing advance
features.
C.) The proponents may consider additional features to
enhance system’s functionalities and capabilities.
