 1 General Information

1 General Information
1.1 Safety
For your safety and the safety of third parties, as well as for protecting the MR system and its components
from damage, the appropriate safety information is included in register: “General Safety Notes” and “MR-
Specific Safety Information” in the “Technical Documents”.

Prior to starting work, read the specific information in the respective manual:

• General safety information for service personnel.

• Limitations with respect to ferromagnetic materials.

• Safety information pertaining to working with the magnet at field.

• Information regarding working with heavy loads.

• Protective conductor test before switching on the system and for subsequent repairs.

1.2 Requirements

1.2.1 Function
The Advanced Host is prerequisite for the MRWP and for following applications:

• syngo MR Workplace

• inline BOLD Imaging

• Neuro fMRI Package

• Neuro fMRI/DTI Package

• [Link] Neuro 3D Engine

• [Link] Neuro fMRI

1.2.2 Prerequisite

• Actual and valid service key required on memory device.

If not available, please contact Licensing team in RSC.

MRAWP exchange / upgrade Approx. 210 min

2 Installation
2.1 License

• Switch on the monitor and the host.

• Simultaneously press TAB and DEL and (send to node 1) keys on the console to leave the kiosk mode.

Enter user name and password

• Start the Administration Portal.

Login with Service Key and Enter Passcode.

• Navigate to Technical Configuration -> Licensing ->License Configuration

Import License File (Advanced Host) in the field “Browse & Upload” from the local drive and press Save.

2.2 Host replacement

2.2.1 Data backup

• Perform a backup according to the instructions of the installed software version. For details refer to section
"Export site specific data manually" in the corresponding SW Installation Instructions.

2.2.2 Patient data handling

Please ensure that all patient images have been archived by customer.

Data carriers, storage devices, or other media (such as the hard disk inside the host PC) must not leave the
customer site if there is a chance that they still contain patient data.

For details refer to section “Handling patient data” in the corresponding Replacement instructions .

2.2.3 Disassembly Host

Remember to move the dongle from the old "host" to the new "host"

• Shut down and switch off the system.

• Disconnect the main power plug, network drop cable(s), mouse, and keyboard cables.

2.2.4 Assembling Host

• Plug the HW dongle into the new host.

• Plug in the network drop cable(s), mouse, keyboard cables, monitor, and main power plug.

For details of the cabling refer to the corresponding wiring diagrams.

2.3 Software installation

• Install the latest released software on the new “Host” according to the corresponding instructions of the
software version.

• Import the service key from an external memory device.

2.4 Final checks

• Start the Local Service, select Quality Assurance, perform the Image Orientation "Quality Assurance" step.

• Perform a measurement, view the images produced.
