General Instructions:

Read the following instructions carefully and follow them:

1) This question paper contains 38 questions. All questions are compulsory.


2) Question paper is divided into five sections - Section A, B, C, D and E.
3) In Section A, question numbers 1 to 18 are multiple choice questions (MCQs) and question numbers 19 and
20 are Assertion-Reason based questions of 1 mark each.
4) In Section B, question numbers 21 to 25 are very short answer (VSA) type questions of 2 marks
5) each.
6) In Section C, question numbers 26 to 31 are short answer (SA) type questions carrying 3 marks each.
7) In Section D, question numbers 32 to 35 are long answer (LA) type questions carrying 5 marks each.
8) In Section E, question numbers 36 to 38 are case-based integrated units of assessment questions carrying 4
marks each.
9) There is no overall choice. However, an internal choice has been provided in 2 questions in Section B, 2
questions in Section C, 2 questions in Section D and 3 questions of 2 marks in Section E.
10) Draw neat figures wherever required. Take pi = 22/7 wherever required if not stated.

26. Out of the two concentric circles, the radius of the outer circle is 5 cm and the chord AC of length 8 cm is a
tangent to the inner circle. Find the radius of the inner circles.

32 Ramkali required ₹2500 after 12 weeks to send her daughter to school. She saved ₹100 in the first week and
increased her weekly saving by₹20 every week. Find whether she will be able to send her daughter to school after 12
weeks.

33The diagonals of a quadrilateral ABCD intersect each other at the point O such that AO/BO=CO/DO. Show that
ABCD is a trapezium.

34 A solid is formed by placing a right circular cone on top of a hemisphere. The radius of both cone and hemisphere
is 5 cm. The height the cone is equal to the diameter of the the hemisphere. Find the volume of the solid. (Use π =
22/7)

(b) A cylindrical can of total length 16 cm and base diameter 6 cm has hemispherical caps on both ends cylinder with
two hemispheres). Calculate the volume of vessel.
(a) The modal class of a distribution is 50-60. The following table gives class intervals and frequencies (one frequency
is missing). If the mode is 55, find the missing frequency x.

36 36. A gardener wants to design a small rectangular park such that the area (in m²) of the park can be expressed
quadratic polynomial:

A (x) = x²-7x + 10

Where x (in metre) represents the length of the park.

(i) Write the degree of the polynomial A(x).

(ii) Find the value of A(2).

(iii) (a) Factorise A(x) and hence find its zeroes.

(b) Verify the relationship between the zeroes and the coefficients of A (x).

37 Ajay, Bhigu and Colin are fast friend since childhood. They always want to sit in a row in the classroom. But
teacher doesn't allow them and rotate the seats row-wise everyday. Bhigu is very good in maths and he does
distance calculation everyday. He consider the centre of class as origin and marks their position on a paper ina co-
ordinate system. One day Bhigu make the following diagram of their seating position.
(i) What are the coordinates of point A?

(ii) What is the distance of point A from origin?

(iii) (a) What is the distance between A and B?

OR

(b) What is the distance between B and C?

38. Tower cranes are a common fixture at any major construction site. They're pretty hard to miss they often rise
hundreds of feet into the air and can reach out just as far. The construction crew uses the tower crane to lift steel,
concrete, large tools like acetylene torches and generators and a wide variety of other building materials

A crane stands on a level ground. It is represented by a tower AB, of height 24 m and a jib BR. The jib is of length 16
m and can rotate in a vertical plane about B. A vertical cable, RS, carries a load S. The diagram shows currentposition
of the jib, cable and load.

(i) What is the distance BS?

(ii) What is the angle that the jib, BR, makes with the horizontal?

iii)(a) What is the measure of the angle BRS?

Or

(b) Using ∠BPS = 60°, find the straight line distance from the base of tower A to the load S.
