admission to the summative assessment opportunity. Thus a 40 semester mark is
required to gain entry to exam.
• When a traditional examination is used as a last assessment opportunity, the
module(generally) is deemed a pass if the following marks have been obtained a last
summative assessment mark (examination mark) of at least 40%;and
• a final mark of at least 50%. (This means that if a student obtains a final mark of 50%
but has not met the 40% requirement for the examination mark, the student will qualify
for a supplementary examination

Student responsibility is crucial as it ensures engagement with course materials and adherence to schedules, directly impacting learning outcomes. Responsibilities include regularly checking course updates on Moodle, managing assessment deadlines, and maintaining awareness of lecture formats, which collectively foster independence and improve academic performance .

The course's combination of online and face-to-face lectures caters to various learning styles. Visual learners benefit from face-to-face interactions, while auditory learners might prefer the online lectures for their repeating quality. This mixed method allows students to engage with content in ways best suited to their learning preferences, potentially increasing overall comprehension and retention .

The module's assessment strategy, comprising class attendance, multiple tests, continuous assessments, and a final exam, aligns with the academic regulations requiring a 40% semester mark to qualify for exams and a minimum of 40% in the examination to pass. This structure emphasizes both consistent participation and demonstration of understanding through exams, ensuring a comprehensive evaluation of student capabilities .

The GAC schedule is designed with distinct units followed by revision days. The periodic revision days allow students to consolidate and reinforce learning after covering complex topics like the Companies Act, Governance, and Business Cycles. This structure suggests a pedagogical approach that values ongoing reflection and integration of learning rather than a last-minute review, helping students prepare gradually over the semester .

The course outcomes specify that students will evaluate implications and advise on resolving ethical dilemmas faced by accountants or other professionals in business. This involves a deep understanding of regulatory and professional bodies’ codes of conduct and applying these principles to real-world scenarios, allowing students to critically engage with ethical challenges .

Failing to stay updated could lead to missed classes or assessments, negatively affecting students' grades due to loss of attendance points and insufficient preparation for exams. This lapse in academic management might result in a failure to meet the minimum requirements for assessment and jeopardize the opportunity to take supplementary assessments .

The course alternates between face-to-face and online sessions, requiring students to pay attention to the schedule to ensure attendance at the correct venue and format. This alternate format requires strategic planning from students to manage their study schedule effectively and avoid missing important sessions .

The learning outcomes emphasize understanding regulatory codes and the resolution of ethical dilemmas, which are critical skills in governance and control careers. By equipping students with the ability to apply internal control principles and risk management processes, the course prepares them for real-world challenges, enhancing their competency in professional settings .

The module framework includes continuous assessment through quizzes that account for 25% of the overall grade. This approach encourages regular engagement with the material, allowing students to test their understanding and knowledge frequently. Such a method promotes incremental learning and helps students identify areas needing improvement throughout the semester .

The replacement assessment policy requires submission of verified documentation for missed assessments due to exceptional circumstances. This policy compels students to plan strategically and maintain thorough records to qualify for such assessments. It underscores the importance of accountability and proactive engagement in academic responsibilities, influencing how students manage unforeseen challenges during the semester .
