Common questions

Arcgate's aptitude test includes a web search section, where candidates must locate specific information such as company URLs, social media links, or CEO names. This section assesses a candidate's ability to efficiently find and verify information online, a skill important for roles involving data research. The challenge lies in the candidate's speed, accuracy, and methodical approach to verifying that gathered information is current and reliable .

In Arcgate's aptitude test, the concept of profit percentage is applied to assess a candidate's understanding of basic financial arithmetic. The formula used is Profit % = (Profit/Cost Price) × 100, where the profit is calculated as the difference between the selling price and the cost price. This formula helps evaluate candidates' ability to quickly and accurately perform financial calculations .

The interview process at Arcgate for a research analyst position consists of two main stages. The first stage is an aptitude test which includes sections on English, basic maths, and reasoning. This stage assesses the foundational skills necessary for the role, such as comprehension and analytical abilities. It also includes a typing test to gauge efficiency and accuracy in computer use. The second stage is an HR round, where one-on-one interviews focus on evaluating the candidate's fit within the company culture, communication skills, and understanding of the role and company .

Arcgate incorporates logical reasoning within its aptitude test to assess a candidate's problem-solving and analytical skills. The topics typically covered include age-related questions, direction and blood relation puzzles, and basic profit and loss calculations. These types of questions are designed to test the candidate's ability to think logically and process information quickly and accurately .

To excel in the English component of Arcgate's aptitude test, candidates should focus on key areas such as reading comprehension, grammar, and sentence formation. Effective strategies include practicing reading various types of passages to improve comprehension speed, reviewing common grammar rules, and practicing forming coherent sentences from prompts. Additionally, candidates could benefit from practicing timed exercises to improve their ability to manage time efficiently during the test .

Arcgate integrates technology into its hiring process by using a computer-based test (CBT) format for its aptitude tests. This approach allows for efficient administration and objective evaluation of candidates' skills. The use of technology ensures consistency in testing conditions and facilitates immediate processing of results. This effectiveness is enhanced by the variety of skills assessed—ranging from typing to logical reasoning—ensuring that suitable candidates are accurately identified .

Arcgate's interview process utilizes subjective methods, such as one-on-one HR interviews where evaluators assess candidate fit based on communication skills and cultural adaptability. Objective methods are employed through computer-based aptitude tests that measure quantifiable skills such as typing speed, logical reasoning, and aptitude in subjects like math or English. This combination ensures a well-rounded evaluation of candidates' capabilities, balancing hard skills with interpersonal and adaptive characteristics .

During the HR interview round, Arcgate places significant importance on a candidate's knowledge of the company and the industry. This emphasis implies that candidates need to demonstrate an understanding of Arcgate's services, clients, and market position, which signifies their genuine interest in the role and adaptability within the company's environment. It tests whether the candidate has done their homework about the organization, a critical factor in determining their long-term commitment and fit for the company .

Creative problem-solving is essential in Arcgate's logical reasoning test, where candidates face tasks that require unconventional thinking. For example, in coding/decoding problems, candidates decode sequences, like "If CAT = DBU, then DOG = ?" which requires understanding the pattern or logic behind the transformation. Such tasks test candidates' ability to think outside the box and apply innovative approaches to solve unfamiliar problems efficiently .

In the HR interview, candidates with IT backgrounds applying for non-IT roles at Arcgate are evaluated on their motivation and adaptability. They are expected to articulate how their IT skills can contribute to the non-IT role, showing potential for utilizing technical skills creatively in different contexts. The interview assesses whether candidates can convincingly communicate their reasons for transition and highlight transferable skills that align with Arcgate's requirements .
