To find the range of a function given its equation, analyze how the output (y-values) changes as x-values vary over the domain. For instance, if the function is f(x) = |x|, the range is all non-negative real numbers [0, ∞) since the absolute value function cannot produce negative results .

Using the product rule, for functions f(x) = x and g(x) = (x + 2), the derivative of their product h(x) = x(x + 2) is given by h'(x) = f'(x)g(x) + f(x)g'(x). Here, f'(x) = 1 and g'(x) = 1, so h'(x) = 1*(x + 2) + x*1 = 2x + 2 .

The centroid of a triangle given vertices A(x1, y1), B(x2, y2), and C(x3, y3) is calculated using the formula ( (x1 + x2 + x3) / 3, (y1 + y2 + y3) / 3 ). For the triangle with vertices at (20, 30, 10), (4, 3, 7), and (5, 3, 7), the centroid is ((20+4+5)/3, (30+3+3)/3, (10+7+7)/3), which simplifies to (29/3, 36/3, 24/3), or approximately (9.67, 12, 8).

Multiplying a complex number by its conjugate results in a real number. The conjugate has the same real part but an opposite sign for the imaginary part. For example, (6 - 3i) and its conjugate (6 + 3i) multiply to give (6 - 3i)(6 + 3i) = 36 + 9 = 45, a real number .

The length of the latus rectum of a parabola y^2 = 4ax is 4a. For a parabola in the form x^2 = 4py, it is also 4p. Given the deflection at the parabola's center, the equation y^2 = 4 * (3/0.12)x indicates that a = 3/0.12, so the latus rectum is 4 * 25 = 100 cm or 1 m .

A histogram visually represents frequency distribution by plotting class intervals on the x-axis and corresponding frequencies on the y-axis. Mean deviation about a value, like the median or mean, is the average of absolute deviations of data points from that central value computed as Σ|xi - central value|/n. Exact computations require specific data .

To compute the angle in radians by which a train turns in a certain time, use the formula θ = (v * t) / r, where v is the velocity, t is the time, and r is the radius of the circle. For a train traveling at 66 km/h (which is 66000/3600 m/s) on a 1500 m radius curve in 10 seconds, θ = (66000/3600 * 10) / 1500, resulting in approximately 0.305 rad .

To determine the equation of the line formed by two points in a coordinate plane, such as (2, -2) and (1, 1) for Rani and Mansi, first calculate the slope (m) using the formula m = (y2 - y1) / (x2 - x1). Here, m = (1 - (-2)) / (1 - 2) = 3/(-1) = -3. Then use the point-slope form of the equation, y - y1 = m(x - x1), with one of the points, say (2, -2): y + 2 = -3(x - 2), which simplifies to y = -3x + 4 .

The probability of at least one of multiple independent events occurring can be calculated using P(A ∪ B) = P(A) + P(B) - P(A ∩ B). Given P(Anil qualifies) = 0.05, P(Vijay qualifies) = 0.10, and P(both qualify) = 0.02, the probability that at least one qualifies is 0.05 + 0.10 - 0.02 = 0.13 .

In a geometric sequence, the common ratio (r) is the constant factor between consecutive terms. Using the given numbers of pots (2, 4, 8,...), r is 4/2 = 2. The nth term is calculated as a * r^(n-1), where a is the first term. The 8th term is thus 2 * 2^(8-1) = 2 * 128 = 256 pots .
