The following model is called ABC, where A = activating event, B = beliefs and C = consequences (behavioral and

emotional).

Please use this model to register negative emotions, such as sadness, anger, hopelessness, amongst others. Please track
the activating event, not focusing so much on the immediately previous event, but rather on any other significant events
that may have triggered the emotion. Please record the beliefs, actions and consequences that follow. Use the following
example as a guide.

X didn’t reply to my texts. They all do the same, I shouldn’t make Feeling angry, resentful. Stop
myself vulnerable. It’s better to keep communicating, recoil. Cope with
my guard up, then I will not be hurt. drinking, smoking and eating.

Register as many as possible events, this exercise will allow us to understand the thought pattern, as well as any cognitive
distortions. Furthermore, we can clearly understand the consequences of our own way of thinking and behaving.
