ORAL PRESENTATION SCRIPT
Good day to our respected panelists, teachers, and classmates.
I am honored to present our research entitled “SAFF: Smart Automatic Fish Feeder
for Enhanced Milkfish Feeding.”Our study focuses on developing and testing a smart
automatic fish feeder designed to improve feeding accuracy, feeding schedule
consistency, and cost efficiency in milkfish [Link] this presentation, we
will discuss the background of the study, statement of the problem, objectives,
methodology, results, conclusions, and recommendations.
INTRODUCTION:
Milkfish aquaculture plays an important role in fisheries as a major source of food and
livelihood. However, traditional manual feeding practices often result in inconsistent
feeding schedules, inaccurate feed portions, and increased labor costs, which can
negatively affect fish growth and farm [Link] address these challenges, this study
developed the Smart Automatic Fish Feeder (SAFF), an automated system designed
to improve feeding accuracy, consistency, and cost efficiency in milkfish farming
STATEMENT OF THE PROBLEM:
The main problem of the study is to address the inefficiencies in milkfish aquaculture
caused by traditional manual feeding, particularly inaccurate feed portions, inconsistent
feeding schedules, and high labor costs, by determining whether the Smart Automatic
Fish Feeder (SAFF) can improve feeding efficiency, fish growth management, and cost
effectiveness in fisheries.
METHODOLOGY:
The study used an experimental research design involving two groups: one group used
traditional manual feeding, while the other used the Smart Automatic Fish [Link]
SAFF system was developed using an Arduino Uno R3, servo motor, keypad, LCD
display, and solar power. The device was programmed to dispense feeds automatically
at set times and controlled [Link] trials were conducted, and data on feed
accuracy, feeding schedule accuracy, and cost were collected. Statistical analysis using
mean computation and t-test was applied to compare the two methods.
KEY RESULT:
The results showed that the Smart Automatic Fish Feeder performed significantly better
than traditional [Link] achieved a feed amount accuracy of 95%, compared to
78% for manual [Link] schedule accuracy reached 98% using SAFF, while
manual feeding only achieved 70%.In terms of cost, SAFF reduced operational
expenses by approximately 46%.The computed t-values were higher than the critical
value at the 0.05 level of significance, leading to the rejection of the null hypothesis.
CONCLUSION:
The study concludes that the Smart Automatic Fish Feeder is an effective, accurate,
and cost-efficient alternative to traditional manual [Link] automating the feeding
process, SAFF reduces human error, improves feeding consistency, and supports
sustainable milkfish farming [Link], the Smart Automatic Fish Feeder is
recommended for small- to medium-scale aquaculture operations.
RECOMMENDATION:
The researchers recommend improving the system by adding water quality sensors
such as temperature and pH [Link] studies may also expand the system for
larger fish farms and test it on other fish species. Additionally, integrating a mobile
application could improve monitoring and user convenience.
