Extension work for Writing

1. Explain how you use writing to teach English to your students.


I use writing in simple and fun ways to teach English to my students. First, we start
with tracing letters, which helps them learn the shapes and sounds of each letter.
Then, I use pictures and words together—like drawing a cat and writing the word
'cat' under it. This helps them connect the word to its meaning.

We also practice writing their names and simple words like 'mom' or 'dad.' Finally,
I encourage them to copy short sentences like 'I see a dog.' These activities make
writing fun and build their confidence in English!"

2. Discuss how you will use graphic organizers with your students.

I will use graphic organizers with my students in simple and interactive ways to
help them learn English. For example, I can create a picture chart to group
vocabulary by categories like 'fruits' or 'animals,' using both words and images.
This helps students visually connect words to their meanings.

For storytelling, I might use a sequence chart with pictures and numbers (1, 2, 3) to
show the order of events, like ‘wake up,’ ‘eat breakfast,’ and ‘go to school.’

Another idea is a word web, where we put a word like 'dog' in the middle and draw
lines to related words, like 'tail,' 'bark,' and 'pet.' Graphic organizers make learning
visual, fun, and easier to understand for young learners!"
