• Evaluate eligibility for PRC license renewal.

Case Scenario A

Engr. Miguel Santos is a Registered Mechanical Engineer whose license is due for renewal. Within
the last 3 years, he completed the following activities: • Attended 3 PRC-accredited seminars (8 CU
each) • Resource speaker for a 2-hour technical webinar • Published one article in a local
peer-reviewed journal • Participated in a 5-day study tour • Completed 6 months of in-service
training

• 1. How many CPD units are required for his profession?


• 2. Classify each activity according to CPD track.
• 3. Compute his total CPD units.
• 4. Is he qualified for renewal? Explain your answer clearly.
• 5. If not qualified, what additional CPD activity would you recommend and why?

Case Scenario B

Engr. Carla Reyes is a Registered Master Electrician applying for license renewal. She completed: •
Master’s Degree (within 5 years) • 2 Technical papers (5 CU each) • 10 hours consultancy work •
8-hour socio-civic activity using profession • Facilitated a 3-hour accredited training

• 3. Compute her total CPD units.

• 5. Do you think CPD fairly rewards advanced studies? Support your answer.
Part 2: Individual 3-Year CPD Plan

Design your own 3-Year CPD Plan for ONE engineering profession (Civil, Electrical, Electronics, or
Mechanical Engineering). Requirements: • Must meet required CPD units for renewal. • Include at
least one Professional Track activity. • Include at least one Self-Directed activity. • Include one
long-term professional development goal. Write a short justification explaining how your plan
supports competency development, national growth, and ASEAN alignment.
