A 1)Problem statement:
Many students and professionals use laptops for long hours while studying or working. Most
laptops are placed flat on desks, which causes poor posture, neck strain, back pain, and
overheating of the device. Existing laptop stands are often expensive, not adjustable, bulky,
or not suitable for small study spaces. Therefore, there is a need to design a simple,
affordable, ergonomic, and customizable laptop stand that can improve comfort, posture,
and laptop performance.
How and why is this problem relevant and justify the need for the solution?
This problem is highly relevant because students today spend several hours daily attending
online classes, completing assignments, and researching on laptops. Poor laptop positioning
forces users to bend their necks and shoulders, leading to long-term health issues such as
neck pain, eye strain, and poor posture. Additionally, laptops placed flat on desks tend to
overheat due to poor air circulation, reducing performance and lifespan. A well-designed
laptop stand can raise the screen to eye level, improve airflow, enhance comfort, and
promote healthier study habits. A 3D-printed solution allows customization based on user
height, desk size, and laptop dimensions while keeping the product affordable and
sustainable.

selection with reference to the design specification.
iv. develops accurate planning drawings/diagrams and
outlines requirements for the creation of the chosen solution.
B 1) Key features of the solution:
Features Descriptions
Honey-comb The structure of the laptop stand will stay strong if the given base is
structure structured in such a way to give a stron foundation
Built-in cable Built-in cable management in a laptop stand helps keep the workspace
management clean and organized by guiding charging and data cables neatly
through dedicated channels or clips, which reduces clutter and prevents
tangled wires.
Slip rubber pads Adding slip-resistant rubber pads to 3D printed laptop stands is a
critical, low-cost enhancement that significantly improves stability,
protects both the laptop and desk from scratches, and enhances
airflow. These pads are typically self-adhesive silicone or rubber
bumpers, often 4–12 pieces in a set, which prevent the plastic,
lightweight, or PLA-printed, or PETG-printed stands from sliding during
use
Foldable and Designed to collapse or fold flat for travel.
portable stands Some can print in one go without assembly.
Great for people on the go or with a small desk.
