system of public web
WORLD pages accessible
through the internet
WIDE ❑ the system that enables
you to access hypertext
WEB documents and other
files over the Internet
❑ invented by Tim
Berners-Lee in 1989
WEB 1.0 :
STATIC WEB PAGES
❑ also known as flat page, stationary
page, or read-only Web in the sense
that the page is “as is” and cannot be
manipulated by the user
❑ the first generation of the Internet
when most websites were read-only
or static
❑ The content is the same for all users.
WEB 1.0 :

❑ There is a give-and-take relationship
between a website and its users,
in which the latter has the power to share
different types of information such as
texts, images, sounds, and videos.
WEB 2.0 :
DYNAMIC WEB PAGES

which is an upgrade of Web 2.0.
