To,

The Headmistress
Sarvottam International School

Subject: Request to Add Yoga as an Additional Subject

Respected Ma'am,
I hope this letter finds you well. I am writing to request permission to
take Yoga as a sixth subject alongside my current subjects in Class
11th.

I want to be completely transparent with you regarding my situation. I

am not doing well with Mathematics this year and my marks are not
great. I know that this is impacting my overall percentage, and I am
quite worried about my class 12th and boards. I just want to clarify
that I do not want to drop Mathematics under any circumstances. I
need it for my future, and I will be studying Computer Science in as
much as I can get in if I do abandon Mathematics.

I know my marks in Maths have not been great so far, but I have finally
figured out what the missteps have been. I have been studying Maths
for 3 - 5 hours each day for the last several weeks. I am serious about
doing well in the final exams and I want to show that I am capable of
the subject.

Moreover, if I were to take Yoga as an extra subject, it would greatly

improve my overall percentage on the boards and allow me some
leverage as I work on improving my Maths mark. Overall, this could be
a sensible way to keep moving towards my plan, without derailing my
future plans.

I sincerely hope you will consider my request and allow me to add Yoga
as my sixth subject. I promise to take all my subjects seriously and give
my best effort.

Thank you so much for your time and understanding.

Yours respectfully,
Aarush Gupta

The feasibility of Aarush's plan depends largely on his ability to manage his time effectively and the rigor of both Yoga and his current subjects. Adding Yoga might offer him a less demanding subject, providing a potential boost to his overall grades while maintaining his Mathematics workload. However, this plan hinges on his dedication to both Mathematics and Yoga, and his current capacity to improve might be spread thin if not carefully managed. The approach is sensible in theory but demands effective prioritization and time management .

Aarush Gupta plans to improve his Mathematics grades by identifying past missteps and dedicating 3-5 hours each day to studying the subject for the past several weeks. He has decided to not abandon Mathematics despite his poor performance, as it is required for his future goals, particularly in Computer Science .

Benefits of taking Yoga might include improved physical and mental well-being, which could indirectly enhance cognitive function and reduce stress, potentially improving his performance in other subjects like Mathematics. It could also elevate his overall marks as a comparatively easier subject. Challenges could include the additional time and effort needed, which might detract focus from Mathematics unless managed well. Balancing this new workload with existing subjects might prove challenging if not supported by a structured time management plan .

Aarush's decision to include both Mathematics and Yoga in his curriculum suggests a balanced approach to learning that values both core academic competencies and supplementary skills. Maintaining Mathematics aligns with his long-term goals in Computer Science, indicating a strategic outlook. Simultaneously, the addition of Yoga indicates his understanding of the benefits of maintaining a diverse skill set and improving overall academic performance. This approach reflects forward-thinking and adaptability, qualities essential for academic and future professional success .

Acknowledgment of past missteps is crucial as it demonstrates self-awareness, which is a foundational step toward improvement. By recognizing where he went wrong, Aarush can address specific weak points in his study methodology, and his decision to dedicate more time to Mathematics reflects a strategic approach rooted in understanding and mitigation of past errors. This awareness combined with focused effort increases his likelihood of overcoming current academic challenges, thus paving the way for future success .

Aarush is concerned that dropping Mathematics could hinder his future academic plans, particularly in pursuing Computer Science. He understands that despite Mathematics being a challenging subject for him, it is crucial for his future endeavors and thus, he resolves not to abandon it .

Aarush reasons that adding Yoga could help improve his overall percentage and provide him with leverage as he works on Math, which is crucial for his academic future. He emphasizes the importance of Mathematics for his intended field of Computer Science and is committed to not dropping it despite current struggles. The addition of Yoga is seen as a complementary strategy to bolster his academic record without sacrificing his long-term goals .

Yoga's role in Aarush's educational strategy is dual-faceted. Primarily, it serves as an academic subject that could enhance his overall percentage, thereby compensating for his lower scores in Mathematics. Secondarily, the practice of Yoga might improve his focus, reduce stress, and enhance cognitive abilities, indirectly benefiting his academic performance across the board. The strategic inclusion of Yoga, therefore, represents a holistic approach to education, integrating physical and mental well-being with academic achievement. This integrative strategy is thoughtfully crafted to support and potentially amplify his efforts in Mathematics by creating a balanced and supportive educational environment .

Aarush Gupta wants to add Yoga as an additional subject to improve his overall percentage on the boards. He acknowledges that his marks in Mathematics are not great and as a result, impact his overall academic performance. By adding Yoga, he believes it would provide leverage as he continues to work on improving his Maths marks, without derailing his future plans which include studying Computer Science .

Aarush demonstrates commitment by openly acknowledging his shortcomings in Mathematics, dedicating significant daily hours (3-5) to study it, recognizing his missteps, and devising a strategic plan to enhance his overall academic performance. His request to add Yoga shows a proactive approach to maintaining academic progress while addressing his current challenges .
