pricing and flexible service access.

The business plan outlines market assessment, strategic implementation, and financial
projections to demonstrate the feasibility and sustainability of the proposed venture.
Conservative financial estimates indicate early break-even potential and positive cash flow
within the first year of operation. Overall, WIXCONNECT seeks to establish itself as a cost-
effective and scalable broadband solution with strong growth prospects in Bangladesh’s
expanding digital economy.
INTRODUCTION
The tremendous growth of information and communication technology (ICT) has revolutionized
how people, organizations and institutions access and employ information. Access to
dependable and high-speed internet is now regarded as a basic human need, rather than a
privilege, especially in urban and semi-urban setups of developing nations like Bangladesh.
Increased reliance on remote learning, working from home, digital banking and e-commerce has
expanded the use of broadband over the past decade. The majority of users now prefer faster and
more reliable broadband connections that are capable of supporting digital activities in the
present time (Bangs, 2002).

Broadband Internet in Bangladesh was dominated by the DSL, fiber optic and cable media as
well as satellite internet. While such technologies offer a satisfactory level of service quality,
they often suffer from high costs of infrastructure provision, limited coverage and rigid
installation constraints. A large number of potential customers, particularly in highly populated
urban areas, have difficulty subscribing to wired broadband services because of constrains on
the physical network and on availability. Therefore, wireless broadband technology can serve as
an alternative to overcome such structural difficulties, providing similar speed and quality
connectivity (Chesbrough & Rosenbloom, 2002).

WIXCONNECT Wireless Broadband is targeted as a new startup venture to meet the explosive
demand, built on Wi-MAX technology. The project WIXCONNECT aims to offer affordable,
wide-reaching broadband internet services in the Khulna Metropolis where building an
extensive cable network is not feasible through wireless (airwave) transmission technology. WI-
MAX technology makes it simple to transmit the signal across a wide coverage area, thus no
installation work not only eliminates but also can be used with low operating cost. With this
advantage, it would provide competitive pricing with acceptable quality of services which in turn
creates value for customers and the company (Hamel, 2000).

The business plan is built up with clear concentration upon identifiable market segments which
will be the most willing to adapt wireless broadband. Those factors are graduation students, IT
professionals and technology interested users who exhibit their heavy online usage ,huge
dependability upon the digital connection and easy adoption of the new technologies. Since the
efficient way for manifestation remains market both geographically and demographically
respectively This paper focuses on customers whose demand is potential which could be a
stepping-stone to (McKeever, 2012) 10 Comment [FB1]: Revise term & application of these
word with new choice e.i formation not far from its product services mix thus cutting resources
and Losses this means WIXCONNECT being able to grow sustainable.

It is the purpose of this business plan to provide a detailed and comprehensive description of our
business model, to demonstrate its viability and ensure survival of WIXCONNECT as a wireless
ISP. It describes the market, its services/products, promotion and sales approaches, data
collection techniques, financial forecasting and long-term sustainability. Using these alliances
and workforce training, WIXCONNECT would like to be seen as a cost-effective and a cyber
competitive alternative in the Bangladeshi nation (Joseph & Covelo, 2006).

BUSINESS OVERVIEW

WIXCONNECT Wireless Broadband is a concept to be internet service provider (ISP) which

intends to provide cheap and dependable internet broadband wireless connection through Wi-
MAX technology. The service will start in Khulna Metropolitan Area to meet the burgeoning
demand of urban users for high-speed connection. With increasing browsing associated with
digital education/distance learning, online commerce, remote employment and entertainment-
based services over the internet; it is evident for proliferation of other broadband solutions that
are flexible scalable and economical (McKeever 2012).

WIXCONNECT’s fundamental business is services-oriented, providing wireless broadband

access without long reach of cables. Unlike DSL or cable internet service, WIXCONNECT is
transmitted wirelessly using Wi-MAX antenna/repeater technology. The capex reduces
substantially, and the maintenance cost also gets reduced as well as deployment is faster and so
is easy to expand the network. All that customers need is a Wi-MAX compliant modem.
Installation of the service does not require infrastructure and for those within its coverage area
simply plug-and-play (Bangs, 2002).
WIXCONNECT is formed as a private start up enterprise -owned and controlled by enterprise
management. The first operational iteration comprises basic networking gear, office
workstations, antennae and repeaters to provide a consistent level of service. The firm would be
implementing a lean operational model, wherein administrative, marketing and customer
service functions are largely done online. This strategy can reduce the cost letting business to
direct resources in terms of services on network improvement (Hamel, 2000).

Strategically, WIXCONNECT competes head-on with traditional broadband providers,

providing equivalent internet speeds for less. Business focuses on flexibility, mobility and
convenience as value propositions key to customers who are restricted regarding wired internet
services. Through the use of cutting-edge wireless technologies, as well as emphasis on customer
target marketing WIXCONNECT is hoping to gain a foothold in the local broadband market
that will not only be sustainable but also have room for future growth with more available
general demand (Joseph & Covelo, 2006).

In general, the summary of business confirms Wixconnect’s objective to integrate innovation and
commercial viability, in order to meet consumer’s connectivity requirement as they evolve.
With effective deployment of wireless infrastructure and a targeted provisioning strategy, the
company seeks to realize continuous new customer acquisitions, survive financially, and
eventually secure competitive positioning in the new broadband market that has been emerging
to serve Bangladesh (Chesbrough & Rosenbloom, 2002).

TARGET MARKET SEGMENT STRATEGY

Focused market segments Interestingly, WIXCONNECT Wireless Broadband uses a larger

population of potential customers to arrive at smaller numbers of customer groups which show
high usage -- because they are technology adopters and have strong desire for reliable access to
broadband. But instead of targeting the whole market, the company focuses only on segments
that are most likely to purchase wireless broadband and do so habitually. This has the advantage
that you can effectively plan resources, have precision targeting for marketing and reach your
market quickly (McKeever, 2012).

The initial segments of the market targeted are college and university students in and around
Khulna City. As students, use of the internet and all its services are some of the activities that
peak due to academic / research needs, online learning platforms and entertainment consumption.
They are tech-savvy and savor the high-speed connectivity at reasonable prices. Wireless
broadband is a flexible, easy-to-use service which caters especially for tenants of rented
property and students living in hostels where fixed BB connections may be inconvenient or
unavailable (Bangs 2002).

The next lot is people in jobs such as working in offices, business persons, entrepreneurs,
freelancers and small businessmen. This segment is highly dependent on a reliable connection
for communication, e-commerce, telecommuting, and business processes running in the cloud.
Working professionals have never enough time and thus always demand a reliable and seamless
access to internet. The wireless solution to be offered through WIXCONNECT provides a
convenient means of operation in comparison with the existing cable-based alternatives with
respect to mobility, time and competitive costs that is on demand by this sector (Joseph &
Covelo, 2006).

The third group of target users are the technologically-minded (techies) who are generally among
the first to adopt new hardware and software products and in effect, help drive broader adoption.
These are users that actively look for better internet solutions and they’re interested in trying out
new services. Through the luring of tech savvy customers, WIXCONNECT is also able to gain
word-of-mouth promotion as well as initial feedback that led to improvement in service provided
and credibility on the market. This sector serves as a key driver for diffusion of wireless
broadband technology at the local level (Chesbrough and Rosenbloom, 2002).

In general, the target segment approach of WIXCONNECT is to maximize the adoption potential
with respect to user segments with high demand, readiness to pay and openness for wireless
technology. Through targeting with services, pricing and promotional messages on these
segments, the company is intended to ensure a sustainable growth and becomes competitive in
the broadband internet market of Bangladesh (Hamel, 2000).

The market assessment evaluates the external environment, customer characteristics, industry
structure, and strategic options relevant to WIXCONNECT Wireless Broadband. This analysis
helps determine the feasibility of the proposed business by identifying market demand,
opportunities, threats, and competitive positioning within the broadband internet sector of
Bangladesh.

A. External Analysis

The broadband internet market in Bangladesh has experienced steady growth due to rapid
digitalization in education, business operations, government services, and personal
communication. The increasing use of online learning platforms, remote work systems, mobile
applications, and digital entertainment has significantly raised demand for reliable and high-
speed internet connectivity. However, traditional broadband services such as DSL and cable
often face limitations related to infrastructure availability, installation complexity, and high

infrastructure, they often lack flexibility in expanding coverage or reducing costs due to high
infrastructure investment.

From an industry perspective, the threat of new entrants remains moderate due to regulatory and
technical requirements, while substitution threats exist from mobile internet services. However,
wireless broadband using Wi-MAX occupies a distinct position by offering higher stability than
mobile data and greater flexibility than fixed-line services. This creates a niche opportunity for
WIXCONNECT to differentiate itself through service design and targeted market focus.

D. Strategic Alternatives

Based on market conditions, WIXCONNECT has several strategic alternatives. One option is to
compete directly with existing wired broadband providers by offering lower prices and faster
deployment. Another alternative is to focus on underserved and semi-urban areas where wired
services are limited or unavailable. The chosen strategy emphasizes differentiation through
wireless technology, customer convenience, and targeted segmentation rather than large-scale
price competition. This approach allows WIXCONNECT to build a sustainable customer base
while gradually expanding its network and service offerings.

STRATEGIC IMPLEMENTATION

Strategic implementation outlines how WIXCONNECT Wireless Broadband will transform its
business idea into operational reality. This section explains the production process, resource
requirements, sourcing strategy, marketing execution, and performance monitoring mechanisms
necessary to achieve the business objectives. The strategy emphasizes efficiency, scalability, and
risk management to ensure sustainable growth.

A. Production

WIXCONNECT will deliver its broadband services through a Wi-MAX–based wireless network
infrastructure. Internet bandwidth will be sourced from a reliable upstream provider and
distributed through a central base station. From this base station, wireless signals will be
transmitted using antennas and repeaters to cover the targeted service area. Customers within the
coverage range will access the service through Wi-MAX-compatible modems.

The production process focuses on minimizing service interruption and maintaining consistent
network performance. Centralized monitoring systems will be used to track bandwidth usage,
signal strength, and system reliability. This approach allows timely detection of technical issues
and ensures uninterrupted service delivery to customers.

B. Resource Needs

To effectively implement the business strategy, WIXCONNECT requires adequate resources

across three key areas:

a) Human Resources:
The business will employ a small but skilled team, including a manager/founder, technical
support personnel responsible for network installation and maintenance, and administrative staff
for billing and customer service. As the customer base grows, additional technical and support
staff may be recruited.

b) Financial Resources:

Initial financial resources will be used to cover startup costs such as networking equipment,
office setup, licensing, and initial marketing activities. Ongoing financial resources will be
allocated to operating expenses, including bandwidth procurement, staff salaries, maintenance,
and promotional activities.

c) Physical Resources:

Physical resources include Wi-MAX base stations, antennas, repeaters, modems, computer
systems, and office facilities. These resources are essential for efficient service delivery and
operational management.

C. Sourcing and Procurement Strategy

WIXCONNECT will adopt a selective sourcing strategy to ensure service reliability and cost
efficiency. Bandwidth and networking equipment will be procured from reputable suppliers
based on criteria such as quality, price, technical support, and reliability. Long-term supplier
relationships may be developed to secure stable pricing and technical assistance. Procurement
decisions will prioritize value for money and compatibility with existing infrastructure.

D. Marketing Strategy Implementation

Marketing strategy implementation focuses on converting awareness into subscriptions.

WIXCONNECT will execute targeted local marketing campaigns through educational
institutions, residential areas, and commercial centers. Digital marketing through the company
website and social media platforms will support customer acquisition and service information
dissemination.

Pricing strategies will be implemented to remain competitive while covering operational costs.
Promotional offers may be introduced during the initial launch period to encourage early
adoption. Customer feedback will be actively collected and used to refine service offerings and
promotional approaches.

E. Performance Standards

To ensure effective implementation and continuous improvement, WIXCONNECT will establish

clear performance standards. Key performance indicators (KPIs) include subscriber growth rate,
monthly revenue, service uptime, customer satisfaction levels, and operating cost control.
Performance will be reviewed on a regular basis, and corrective actions will be taken if
performance deviates from planned targets. These standards ensure accountability and support
informed managerial decision-making.

FINANCIAL PLAN

The financial plan of WIXCONNECT Wireless Broadband presents a structured analysis of

funding requirements, projected financial performance, risk management, and contingency
measures. The objective of this plan is to ensure financial sustainability, control risk, and support
long-term growth of the business through careful planning and monitoring.

A. Financial Projections

WIXCONNECT Wireless Broadband will be financed primarily through owner’s equity during
the startup phase. This approach allows the business to maintain full ownership control while
minimizing financial risk associated with external borrowing. The initial capital will be used to
cover startup expenses, including networking equipment, Wi-MAX infrastructure, office setup,
licensing, and initial marketing activities. As operations stabilize, the business may consider
limited external financing if required for expansion.
The projected financial performance is based on conservative assumptions regarding subscriber
growth, pricing, and operating costs. Monthly operating expenses include bandwidth
procurement, staff salaries, maintenance, office rent, utilities, and administrative costs. Due to
the wireless nature of the service, infrastructure and maintenance costs remain lower than those
of traditional wired internet service providers. This cost advantage supports competitive pricing
while maintaining acceptable profit margins.

Revenue is generated through a subscription-based model, where customers pay a fixed monthly
fee for wireless broadband access. As the subscriber base grows steadily, recurring revenue is
expected to increase over time. Financial projections indicate that WIXCONNECT is likely to
reach its break-even point within the first year of operation, after which the business is expected
to generate positive net income. Key financial indicators such as cash flow, operating margin,
and cost efficiency will be closely monitored to ensure financial health.

To manage financial risks, WIXCONNECT will adopt strict budgeting and spending controls.
Regular cash flow analysis will be conducted to ensure sufficient liquidity for operational needs
and obligations. Performance targets will be set for short-term (one year) and medium-term
(three to five years) periods, focusing on revenue growth, cost control, and asset utilization.

B. Contingency Plan

The contingency plan outlines alternative actions in case the business does not perform as
projected. If subscriber growth is slower than expected, WIXCONNECT will reduce
discretionary expenses, adjust marketing strategies, and focus on high-demand customer
segments to stabilize revenue. Pricing strategies may also be revised to attract cost-sensitive
users without compromising service quality.

In the event of unexpected cost increases, such as higher bandwidth prices or equipment
maintenance costs, the business will seek alternative suppliers and renegotiate service contracts.
Technical contingencies include maintaining backup equipment and alternative bandwidth
arrangements to ensure service continuity. Additionally, operational responsibilities will be
clearly documented to ensure business continuity in case of temporary unavailability of key
personnel.

Overall, the financial plan demonstrates that WIXCONNECT Wireless Broadband is financially
feasible and capable of managing operational and market-related risks. Through conservative
financial planning, disciplined cost management, and proactive risk mitigation, the business aims
to achieve stable operations, early profitability, and sustainable long-term growth.

MONITORING

Monitoring is essential to ensure that WIXCONNECT Wireless Broadband operates according to

its strategic and financial plans and achieves its intended objectives. A systematic monitoring
framework will be implemented to evaluate operational performance, financial health, and
customer satisfaction on a regular basis. This process enables management to identify deviations
from planned targets and take corrective actions in a timely manner.

Operational monitoring will focus on service quality and network performance. Key indicators
such as network uptime, signal strength, bandwidth utilization, and frequency of service
disruptions will be tracked continuously through centralized monitoring systems. Regular
technical reviews will help ensure reliable service delivery and minimize downtime, which is
critical for customer retention.

Financial monitoring will involve periodic review of revenue, operating expenses, cash flow, and
profitability. Monthly financial statements and cash flow reports will be prepared to assess
whether the business is meeting its financial projections. Budget variances will be analyzed to
control costs and maintain liquidity. Key financial ratios and performance benchmarks will be
used to evaluate overall financial stability and efficiency.

Customer-related monitoring will emphasize satisfaction and retention. Customer feedback will
be collected through service inquiries, complaints, and periodic surveys. Subscription growth,
churn rate, and repeat usage patterns will be analyzed to understand customer behavior and
service acceptance. These insights will guide improvements in service quality, pricing, and
support mechanisms.
Responsibility for monitoring activities will rest primarily with the management, supported by
technical and administrative staff. Performance results will be reviewed on a monthly and
quarterly basis, and strategic adjustments will be made as necessary. Through continuous
monitoring and evaluation, WIXCONNECT aims to maintain operational efficiency, financial
discipline, and long-term business sustainability.

Conclusion
This business plan has analyzed the viability and strategy of WIXCONNECT Wireless
Broadband as Wi-MAX technology-based ISP in Khulna Metropolitan Area. The study shows
that the increasing need for high speed, dependable and dynamic Internet in Bangladesh has
fostered a positive ecosystem for alternative broadband options. The limitations of classical
wired services, like DSL and cable in terms of dependency on infrastructure and coverage issues
emphasize wireless broadband as an alternative more effective and scalable (Bangs, 2002).

Students, tech professionals and computer illiterate users are the most feasible target market
because of their high level of internet usage, digital dependency and willingness to learn new
innovative technologies. By concentrating in these segments, WIXCONNECT can appropriately
deploy resources, customize service packages and targeted marketing, and focus sales strategies.
Wi-MAX technology enables business to compete due to less complexity in installation, lower
operational costs and the possibility for rapid network expansion as a result of increasing
demand (Chesbrough & Rosenbloom, 2002).
First-hand data from structured questionnaires and processed by Excel also validates the market
prospects of WIXCONNECT. [Link] found there is tremendous demand for
broadband wireless services, especially among those who need the speed and who don't want to
be tied down to fixed locations. The analysis of data reveals that a large number of respondents
are ready to switch to another trust worthy wireless broadband provider provided there is cut
throat price and service quality is maintained. These findings also reinforce the business plan's
proposed marketing, sales and pricing strategies. (McKeever, 2012 ).

Re entrepreneurial – potential The business plan we have designed in conjunction with Mg

Capital and Network WSS Research Division demonstrates that the Wixconnect has significant
entrepreneurial opportunities primarily in term of financial standpoint it expresses perfectly how
powerful is this idea and concept to be immune of changes across life, shows that from a fiscal
point the product can assure you not just a regular return but at the same time can be become
self-sustainable due to its low capital cost up front, lean operation structure and recurring
subscription based revenue model. Low-risk investments and the early possibility of profitability
lower risk and ensures sustainability in the long run. With customer adoption, economies of
scale should continue to increase the extent of profitability and future expansion (Joseph &
Covelo, 2006).

To conclude, the WIXCONNECT Wireless Broadband is an accountable and strategically firm

business proposition in the context of Bangladesh’s dynamic broadband environment. With a
closer correspondence of technological innovation with market orientation and data driven
planning, the company is expected to deliver value for customers and equally guarantee
sustainable growth and survival in the wireless internet service industry (Hamel, 2000).
