METHOD STATEMENT
I. DESCRIPTION
This method statement describes the step by step procedure for repairing honeycomb in
reinforced concrete structure by using the Sikagrout® 215 New, SikaMonotop 613 IND
and Sikadur 752 .
Sikagrout® 215 New is a non-shrink, cementitious grout, with a unique 2-stage
shrinkage compensating mechanism for exposed rebar condition and SikaMonotop 613
IND is a one component, thixotropic, high build, polymer modified, cementitious mortar
fiber reinforced used for unexposed rebar condition. It is non-metallic and contains no
chloride. Sikadur 752 a solvent-free, 2-component super low viscosity-liquid,
based on high strength epoxy resins. Specially for injecting into cavities and cracks in
concrete.
With a special blend of shrinkage - reducing and plasticizing/water-reducing agent,
Sikagrout® 215 New compensates for shrinkage in both the plastic and hardened states.
Sikagrout® 215 New complies with Corps of Engineer’s specification CRD C-621 and
ASTM C-1107.

III. APPLICATION
1.1. GROUTING : SIKAGROUT® 215 (NEW)
Equipment :
- Electric Hand Mixer
- Water Measure Glass
- Ice Water for application thickness above 10 cm, or clean water
- Brush
- Pail for Mixing
Material :
- Sikagrout 215 New, 25 Kg/ Bag
Surface preparation
Concrete surface must be clean of dust, grease, oil, or dirt. Concrete surface should
be roughened to obtain good mechanical adhesion.
Chipping Surfaces Concrete is porous to meet the harsh concrete or up behind the
main reinforcement to obtain bonding.
Clean the surface to be grouted using a compressor, vacuum or brush to clean from
dirt rest - the rest of stone or metal pieces etc.
Clean rebar using wire brush.
Moisten that will be grouted with water (If possible flush the area with water and
clean residual water on the surface)
METHOD STATEMENT
Installation Formwork
To get a good surface quality, should choose the formwork of phenolic / Polyfilm
board. Binding of formwork better use system tierod or flanked with bolt system.
Make sure Formwork does not leak
To ensure that the grouting material is fully charged, prepare the control holes on
the top end of the formwork
Mixing
Material mixing, add gradually powder while mix SikaGrout®- new 215 with a hand
mixer into a pail containing water (ice water if the temperature is high pitch) with a
consumption of 4 liters / bag (16% / bag).
After less than or ± 3-5 minutes until well blended material (homogeneous) then
pour the mixture which has been blended (homogenous) into the location or holes
to be in the grouting.
At the time of casting grouting was done, stirring grouting materials for subsequent
casting so there is no pause in casting grouting)

Sikagrout 215 New Water 16 %
METHOD STATEMENT
Casting
Pour SikaGrout®- 215 (new) to follow the direction of gravity casting method.
Prepare a funnel to help drain the grouting into the hole (Casting should continue
to completion).
Pour slowly into the casting location, while maintaining the density of the formwork,
concrete vibrator should not wear but with the help of small blow to the formwork
is permitted as long as does not damage the formwork.
Grouting Method
METHOD STATEMENT
Curing & Finishing
To make the final surface finishing better in visual, cosmetic repair will be done
after removal of formwork.
Curing to prevent premature water loss. To create a nicer visual surface, it should
be applied after the finishing process.

Cut a minimum depth of 5 mm around the concrete to be repaired shaped square
/ perimeter. box. Remove all traces of broken concrete, spalling, concrete
Honeycom to hard concrete.
Concrete and reinforcing steel surfaces should be clean and free from dust, cement
laitance, loose particles, rust, oil, grease or other contamination. Concrete surfaces
can be wet, but should not be any standing water.
Prepared surface should be moistened with clean water (SSD).
METHOD STATEMENT
SikaLatex as Bonding Agent
A synthetic rubber emulsion for addition to cement mortars where good adhesion
and water resistance are required.
Use
SikaLatex is a high quality emulsion which substantially increases the qualities of
cement mortars, such as :
- Thin layer patching mortars
- Rendering
- Floor screeds.
- Concrete repair mortars.
- Abrasion resistant linings.
- Tile fixing mortars.
- Masonry mortars.
- Bonding agent between old and new concrete.
Instructions for Use
Dosage : Added to the mixing water within the range 1 : 1 – 1 : 3 depending on
application.
Consumption figures are given below.
Surface Preparation
Concrete surfaces should be clean, sound and free from oil, grease, cement
laitance and all loosely adhering particles.
Absorbent surfaces should be saturated thoroughly
METHOD STATEMENT
Application
For all applications a bonding coat of SikaLatex – water 1 : 1 mixed with cement
should be brushed into the prepared surface.
Subsequent mortar application must be carried out while the bonding coat is still
wet.
Special Notes
- Renderings, floor toppings should be allowed to cure correctly.
- Avoid excessive air-entrainment through over-mixing
- Do not use Sika-Latex as a bonding agent without adding cement.
