PROJECT METHOD STATEMENT

1. INTRODUCTION:

This method statement is to describe all of the major activities and methods proposed in carrying
out the works pertaining to this project. This document will be enhanced and supplemented as the
project progresses required.

 As soon as CONTRACTOR is advised that the contract has been successfully awarded to
them, the Project Team will be brought together and plan the site set up.
 Area scans within the worksite boundary will be carried out to identify location of existing
underground services, if any.
 Work site will be cleared by removing debris, existing redundant features. Scrape and strip
the surface and remove the stripped material from the worksite Demolish and Foundations
and other structures & services, as directed & required.
 Temporary enclosure & hoardings will be erected to isolate and identify the worksite
construction area. Night-lighting will be provided as required.
 Required Survey, feasibility study & detailed design will be carried out for tie-in of
infrastructure services & re-routing.
 Necessary procurement of site office accommodation will be made if required, and
connection to telecoms and power will be requested if required.
 All principal sub contractors will be notified that a sub contract order is about to be placed.
The factory/warehouse and supplies will also be advised of the impending product demand.

3. CONSTRUCTION

GENERAL WORKS:
The works shall be carried out as per our established Work Instructions referred to in the process
control.

Flow of required information, including provisions to be kept, approval to the shop drawings etc.
from the CLIENT / CONSULTANT or Consultant for this purpose is assumed to be in such a
fashion so as not to hamper the progress of works at site.

The works shall be executed in such a manner that the activities are taken up at the earliest
possible opportunity so as to minimize the completion time, while remaining within the overall
construction program

Necessary co-ordination between various Electro-Mechanical Services shall be done including


various specialist services viz. Building Electrical Services including Power and lighting, Fire alarm
and Fire fighting system, HVAC Services, Plumbing and Drainage etc. covered under the
Contract.

The sequence of working shall be as follows;

1. Avenue Road & Road No# 6 :-


 Work shall commence for Avenue Road and Road # 6 simultaneously
 Avenue Road has been the longest road with more duration
 As access required for the proposed pumping station location , the Road # 6 has been
planned to complete by 95 days to avoid delay in commencement of proposed pumping
station works .
 Both Avenue Road & Road #6 shall be backfilled with imported back fill material up to
retaining wall raft level
 Along with backfilling activities Storm water & foul drainage pipes are laid at required levels
and the manholes are constructed at locations as per the approved drawings.
 Also spreading of No.57 coarse aggregate shall be laid below retaining wall raft bottom and
gabion boxes shall be fixed on the edges.

 Geo-grid layer shall be laid at specified intervals during No.57 aggregate backfilling
 The Gabion cages shall be filled with 200mm – 75mm size boulders . Gabions shall be
placed in position / pattern as specified in the approved drawings
 Fixation between Geo-grid and the Gabion cage shall be as per the design provided by
Geo-grid manufacturer.
 After reaching the raft bottom level, blinding concrete shall be laid for raft as per approved
drawing
 Reinforcement & form work shall be carried out for the retaining wall as per the drawing and
concrete shall shall be poured.
 Retaining wall shall be constructed on both sides of Avenue road up to 500mtr and ONE
side of Road #6 up to 250 Mtrs..
 Further backfilling will be carried out in parallel with retaining wall works up to final road
level
 Sides slopes of both Avenue road and Road # 6 shall be protected by stone pitching
whereverrequired.
 All utility and service pipe lines shall be laid required depths as per the drawings during
backfilling works. Foundations for street light poles shall be placed at specified locations
 Carbon steel pipes shall be laid at required levels from proposed gas tanks to the
buildings
 ONE number Substation building shall be constructed as per the approved drawings
 500mm thick aggregates laid for the whole road width and compacted well to act as road
drainage
 Geo-textile fabric shall be laid both below & above the drainage aggregate layers.
 Precast concrete kerb stones shall be fixed along the road as per the drawings
 200mm thick sub base laid , rolled and compacted to 100% MDD
 Asphalt layers of base course and wearing course shall be laid as per the approved
drawings and shall be rolled and compacted well.
 Precast interlocking pavers shall be laid at locations as per the drawings
 Street light poles shall be installed on the foundations

 All electrical works inside the substation building shall be carried out as per the drawings .
 All road marking and signage works shall be carried out as per satndards
 Soft landscaping works as per the approved drawing shall be carried out as per drawings

2. Road No# 2 & 3 and Link Road # 2 & 3 :-

 Proposed roads shall be backfilled with imported back fill material up to retaining wall raft
level
 Along with backfilling activities Storm water & foul drainage pipes are laid at required levels
and the manholes are constructed at locations as per the approved drawings.
 Also spreading of No.57 coarse aggregate shall be laid below retaining wall raft bottom and
gabion boxes shall be fixed on the edges.

Electrical Works

Electrical works includes the following

i. Installation and commissioning of electrical works shall include but not limited to the
following.
ii. Providing and installation for 11KV switch gear, Ttransformer at electric substation.
iii. Laying of power cables from M.V Panels at Main sub-station to SMB’s (submain boards).
iv. Providing MCCB panels (SMB’s) in electrical rooms at different locations of the complex.
v. Providing distribution boards at various locations as generally indicated on drawings for
feeding power to lights, small power, pumps, area lights and other equipments with laying
of cables from SMB’s to DB’s.
vi. Providing lights, lighting points, socket outlets, small power flex outlets, etc. using
necessary concealed conducting and cabling.
vii. Supply & installation of Diesel Generator

viii. Providing electrical Kilo Watt [Link] per kahramaa rules and regulations Obtain power
connection for each individual unit. Payment of all fees and coordination with all concerned
departments for electric connection is the contractor’s responsibility and cost for the same
shall be considered as included in the tender
ix. Supply & installation of ELV system

9. TESTING & COMMISSIONING WORKS

i) The Contractor shall test and commission the following systems in collaboration with the
CLIENT / CONSULTANT to ensure effective functioning and ease of operation of the system.

ii) Contractor shall prepare and submit the commissioning procedures to CLIENT /
CONSULTANT for review/approval two (2) weeks prior to start of commissioning, showing the
following as a minimum, but not be limited to:

 Duration of commissioning activities.


 Contractor requirement for CLIENT / CONSULTANT assistance.
 Commissioning check list and procedure based upon equipment manufacture’s own
 Commissioning procedures.
 Special tooling to be supplied by Contractor.

iii) Contractor shall gather & compile documentation pertaining to the test & commissioning for the
complete systems and complete the test & commissioning dossiers arranged by sub-system,
which shall contain all information required to demonstrate that each sub-system has been
successfully commissioned. The dossiers shall at least include the following for commissioning
works, but not limited to

 Commissioning Procedures.
 Commissioning Check Lists.
 Commissioning Test Sheets

 As-commissioned drawings.
 Maintenance Schedule.
 Maintenance Log.
 Correspondence and documents relating to commissioning.

10. COMPLETION :-

 CONTRACTOR shall produce “As-Built” drawings for all WORK completed as part of this
CONTRACT.
 Prepare an ACS comprising a detailed and comprehensive list of all assets acquired
through the CONTRACT and shall submit the ACS as one of the deliverables of the
CONTRACT
 Apply for building completion certificate from MMUP.
 Inspection & approval from all authorities such as KHAHRAMAA, MMUP,QCDD, Q-TEL,
ASHGAL etc complete.
 Arrange for the permanent power & water supply from kahramaa.
 Handover the Works / facilities to the fulfillment of the Contract specifications and Work
requirements

11 .DE-MOBILIZATION AND CLOSE-OUT :-

 Upon COMPLETION of the work or SERVICES, CONTRACTOR shall de-mobilize his


equipment, facilities and personnel. CONTRACTOR shall restore, to the satisfaction of
CLIENT / CONSULTANT, the SITE including any CLIENT / CONSULTANT concession
area and any premises thereon used by CONTRACTOR to perform the work or
SERVICES.

 Following satisfactory de-mobilization, and submission of the CONTRACTOR’s overall HSE


performance report, CLIENT / CONSULTANT shall issue the CONTRACTOR a HSE Close-
out Certificate.
