How do you measure Global Average Temperature? How will a 3o °C (5.4 °F) increase
in average temperature affect your lives?

Global Average Temperature is measured by using data from weather stations or


satellites. A 3 °C (5.4°F) increase in the average temperature will affect us because it
can cause dangerous weather, such as hurricanes and heatwaves. It can impact our
water resources, buildings, and environment. It can also affect our personal health,
including our food source, and our way of living. For example, there would also be
numerous ecosystem problems, as many plants and animals would fail to adapt to the
sudden changes within the environment, leading to a decline in the ecosystem.
Connecting that to agriculture due to the temperature rise, it would make it hard to grow
crops without them drying out, and that would lead to food shortages. Furthermore, with
the increase in temperature, it could even affect and deplete our water, causing a
drought and making water inaccessible, whether for drinking or shower, inaccessible.
The increase in temperature could also have a financial and economic impact. Damage
control and survival preparation for hurricanes and inclement weather caused by the
temperature change, along with maintaining healthy living conditions all call for
financials, and a spike in prices or taxes to fund those different things consistently could
directly impact a lot of lives.
