Augmented and Virtual Reality Development

Course Descrip on
This course provides a comprehensive introduc on to the principles, technologies, and development
prac ces of Augmented Reality (AR), Virtual Reality (VR), and Mixed Reality (MR) applica ons. The
course begins with founda onal concepts of game engines and real- me graphics, progresses through
XR fundamentals and hardware, and culminates in designing and developing VR and AR applica ons.
Emphasis is placed on Unity-based development, interac on design, hardware integra on, and
applica on lifecycle management. Through theory and laboratory exercises, learners gain hands-on
experience in building immersive XR applica ons applicable to domains such as educa on, healthcare,
manufacturing, training, and entertainment.

Course Objec ves


The objec ves of this course are to enable students to:
1. Understand the fundamentals of game engines, real- me graphics, and simula on systems.
2. Explain the concepts, characteris cs, and differences between VR, AR, MR, and XR.
3. Analyze XR hardware, sensors, tracking systems, and interac on technologies.
4. Design effec ve user interac ons and interfaces for immersive VR environments.
5. Develop, test, and deploy basic VR and AR applica ons using industry-standard tools.
6. Apply game development life cycle (GDLC) concepts for XR applica on development.

The course is structured in a progressive and layered manner, ensuring conceptual clarity before
