I. TITLE

Automated Aquatic Ecosystem Management System

II. INTRODUCTION

The Automated Aquatic Ecosystem Management System is a mobile-based application designed

to assist ornamental fish keepers—especially beginners—in maintaining healthy aquatic

environments. Many fish deaths occur due to improper care, lack of species knowledge, poor

water quality management, and late disease detection.

This system combines fish care guidance, image-based fish and disease identification, and

aquarium management tools into one centralized platform. By using image recognition,

structured data monitoring, and automated reminders, the application helps users properly care

for fish, manage aquariums or ponds, and reduce fish mortality through timely guidance and

informed decision-making.
III. PROBLEMS

● Beginners do not know how to properly care for different fish species

● Difficulty identifying fish species

● Lack of knowledge about proper feeding and nutrition

● Improper tank or pond preparation

● Poor monitoring of water parameters

● Misuse of fish care products and medications

● Late detection of fish stress and diseases

● Poor record-keeping of feeding and maintenance schedules

● Overstocking due to lack of species compatibility guidelines

● Fish deaths caused by poor care and delayed treatment

IV. GOALS

● Identify ornamental fish species using image recognition

● Provide species-specific care guides for fish keepers

● Assist users in proper feeding, tank/pond setup, and water management

● Monitor and record aquarium water parameters

● Detect common fish diseases using image analysis

● Provide treatment and prevention guidance

● Manage fish inventory and species compatibility

● Send automated alerts and maintenance reminders

● Reduce fish deaths caused by improper care and late intervention

V. TARGET USERS

● Beginner aquarium hobbyists

● Ornamental fish keepers

● Home aquarium owners

● Small ornamental fish breeders

● Aquarium shop operators

● Students learning fish care, aquaculture, or aquarium management

VI. FEATURES

● Fish Identification

Identifies ornamental fish species using user input.

● Care Guide

Provides feeding, water condition, tank size, and compatibility guidelines.

● Tank & Pond Setup

Guides users in proper aquarium or pond preparation and maintenance.

● Water Quality Monitoring

Records and tracks temperature, pH, and harmful substances.

● Fish Health Monitoring

Logs symptoms and detects possible fish diseases.

● Treatment & Prevention

Suggests treatment steps and disease prevention tips.

● Fish Inventory Management

Tracks fish species, quantity, and stocking compatibility.

● Reminders & Alerts

Sends notifications for feeding, cleaning, and water changes.

● Care History & Reports

Stores past records for monitoring and analysis.

VII. DISADVANTAGE

● Accuracy depends on the quality of uploaded images

● Some fish species and diseases may appear similar

● Some diseases may not show visible external symptoms

● Requires regular and accurate data input by users

● Limited accuracy without real-time sensor integration

● Does not replace professional veterinary or aquatic expert advice
