8. A = { x : x is a multiple of 6 } and B = { x : x is a multiple of 8 }. List all elements of
sets A and B in tabular form (up to 100).
9. G = { x : x = 2^m for integer m and 0 ≤ m ≤ 12 } and H = { x : x is a square }. Find G
∪ H.

1. Consider the sets P = { x : x is a prime number and 0 < x ≤ 20 } and Q = { x : x is a
divisor of 210 and 0 < x ≤ 20 }. Find P ∩ Q.
2. Consider the sets P = { x : x is a prime number and 0 < x ≤ 20 } and Q = { x : x is a
divisor of 210 and 0 < x ≤ 20 }. Find P ∪ Q.
3. If U = {1,2,3,...,20} and A = {1,3,5,...,19}, verify the following: A ∪ A' = U.
4. If U = {1,2,3,...,20} and A = {1,3,5,...,19}, verify the following: A ∩ U = A.
5. If U = {1,2,3,...,20} and A = {1,3,5,...,19}, verify the following: A ∩ A' = ∅.
6. If g(x) = 3x + 2 and h(x) = x^2 + 1, then find g(0).
7. Consider the function defined by f(x) = 5x + 1. If f(x) = 32, find the x value.
8. Write each of the following sets in tabular forms: { x | x = 2n, n ∈ N }.
9. Write each of the following sets in tabular forms: { x | x = 2m + 1, m ∈ N }.

7. 6.(a) In a class of 55 students, 34 like to play cricket and 30 like to play hockey. Also
each student likes to play at least one of the two games. How many students like to play
both games?
8. 6.(b) For A = {1,2,3,4}, find the following relations in A. State the domain and range
of each relation.

9. 7.(a) Given that f(x) = ax + b + 1, where a and b are constant numbers. If f(3) = 8 and
f(6) = 14, then find the values of a and b.
10. 7.(b) Given that g(x) = ax + b + 5, where a and b are constant numbers. If g(−1) = 0
and g(2) = 10, find the values of a and b.
11. 8.(a) Consider the function f(x) = cx^2 + d, where c and d are constant numbers. If
