Student Activities and Celebrations at ISU
Isabela State University (ISU) continuously promotes holistic development among its students through
various academic, cultural, and social activities. These events strengthen unity, recognize excellence,
and preserve Filipino identity within the university community. Among the most celebrated activities are
Student Week, Teachers’ Day, and Buwan ng Wika.
Student Week
Student Week is one of the most anticipated events at Isabela State University. This week-long
celebration is dedicated to honoring students and recognizing their talents, leadership, and creativity.
Various activities are organized, including academic competitions, sports events, cultural performances,
talent shows, and student-led programs.
Student Week provides an opportunity for students to showcase their skills, build confidence, and
strengthen camaraderie. It also encourages teamwork, sportsmanship, and active participation in
university life, making the celebration both enjoyable and meaningful.
Teachers’ Day
Teachers’ Day is a special occasion dedicated to honoring the dedication, passion, and commitment of
ISU faculty members. Students express their gratitude and appreciation for teachers who continuously
guide, inspire, and support them in their academic journey.
Celebrations usually include simple programs, messages of appreciation, performances, and tokens of
gratitude prepared by students. Teachers’ Day highlights the important role of educators in shaping
future professionals and leaders, fostering mutual respect and stronger relationships between students
and faculty.
Buwan ng Wika
Buwan ng Wika is celebrated every August at Isabela State University to promote the Filipino language,
culture, and national identity. During this month, various activities such as essay writing, spoken poetry
(balagtasan), slogan making, cultural presentations, and traditional attire days are conducted.
This celebration encourages students to appreciate the richness of the Filipino language and culture
while strengthening nationalism and pride in being Filipino. Buwan ng Wika serves as a reminder of the
