--- NCC: BUILDING BLOCKS ---
AIMS OF NCC:
• Develop character, comradeship, discipline, secular outlook.
• Instill spirit of adventure + selfless service.
• Create human resource of organised, trained, motivated youth.
• Provide leadership in all walks of life.
• Motivate youth toward Armed Forces career.
OBJECTIVES:
• Reach maximum youth through institutions.
• Make NCC an essential part of society.
• Build positive attitude & thinking.
• Promote national integration irrespective of caste, creed, religion, region.
• Provide platform for youth in nation-building.
• Organise National Integration Camps (NIC).

WHAT NCC MEANS:
• Grooming youth toward nation building.
• Two wings: Senior (college), Junior (school).
• Three services: Army, Navy, Air Force.
• Cadet qualities: discipline, leadership, teamwork, humility, patriotism.
• Community service: blood donation, cleanliness, environment, awareness campaigns.
HISTORY:
• University Corps conceptualised: WWI.
• NCC Act 1948 → NCC formed 15 July 1948.
• Girls Division: 1949.
• Air Wing: 1 April 1950.
• Naval Wing: July 1952.
ORGANISATION:
• HQ: New Delhi under Ministry of Defence.
• Headed by Director General (Lieutenant General).
• 17 Directorates → Group HQs → Units → Sub-units.
• Training academies: OTA Kamptee (men), OTA Gwalior (women).
NCC FLAG:
• Red (Army), Navy Blue (Navy), Light Blue (Air Force).
• 17 Lotus = 17 Directorates.
• Two dots = OTAs (Gwalior & Kamptee).

--- TRAINING CURRICULUM OF NCC ---
TYPES OF TRAINING:
1. Institutional Training (Schools & Colleges)
• 70% common subjects, 30% service-specific.
2. Camp Training:
• ATC/CATC: 10 days (drill, firing, discipline, community living).
• COC: 12 days (unity in diversity).
• Military Attachment Camp: 12 days.
• IMA/OTA Attachment: motivates for Armed Forces.
3. Naval Wing:
• Seamanship, navigation, communication, swimming, scuba diving, windsurfing.
4. Air Wing:
• Airmanship, aeromodelling, navigation, airframes, aero engines, microlite flying.
5. Remount & Veterinary:
• Horse riding, animal care.
CENTRALLY ORGANISED CAMPS:
• Leadership Camp.
• Thal Sainik Camp (Army).
• Nau Sainik Camp (Navy).

• MCQ on OMR.
• 180 minutes.
• Written: 350 marks.
• Practical: 150 marks.
