(THROUGH JOSAA/CSAB-2025) FOR THE SESSION 2025-26
[ALL CONCERNED ARE REQUESTED TO READ THE INSTRUCTIONS COMPLETELY
AND CAREFULLY]
The Admission to different Programmes (B. Tech, [Link]., Dual Degree and Int. MSc.) at National
Institute of Technology, Rourkela through JOSAA – 2025/CSAB – 2025 will be during 20th Aug
2025 to 23rd Aug 2025.
NOTE: The candidate participating in CSAB will report to the Institute on 23.08.2025.
Candidates who are allotted NIT Rourkela are advised to follow instructions at JOSAA Website and
pay partial admission fees. They need to fill necessary details at NIT Rourkela online portal:

Admission Procedure:
For admission, candidates are required to bring the following documents in ORIGINAL with self-
attested copies of each.
Printout of the “Online Enrollment form” & “Address Slips” obtained from

2. Provisional Seat Allotment letter in original received from JOSSA /CSAB-2025.
3. Letter on subsequent upgradation, downloaded from JOSSA/CSAB website (last round
allotment), even if there is no up-gradation
4. JEE (Main) Rank card.
Pass Certificate of High School Certificate Examination/Equivalent Examination/Birth

certificate for proof of date of birth [Original + 1 photocopy, Original will be returned].
6. Mark sheet and Pass Certificate of Qualifying Examination [Original will be returned].
7. School (College) Leaving/ Migration Certificates, in case it is not issued by the
school/Board, from the Institution last attended [Original will be retained].
8. Conduct/Character Certificate from the Institution last attended [Original will be retained].
9. Three (03) Recent Passport size color photographs [preferably white/sky blue background].
10. Medical Fitness Certificate.
11. Recent Scheduled Caste / Scheduled Tribe/ Physically Handicapped /EWS category
certificate/ OBC certificate (eligibility as per declaration by GOI) for claiming reservation.
The date of issue of the OBC/PHcertificates should be as per JOSSA-2025 guidelines.
12. 1. Income certificate of both father & mother issued on or after 01.04.2025 (for OP/OB/EWS)
in order to avail tuition fee waiver (refer to admission fee).
2. If the income certificate is issued in favour of either of the parents, an affidavit in support of
the other parent’s income must be submitted [for example, if father’s income certificate is
submitted, affidavit in support of mother’s income is required to be submitted along with the
father’s income certificate OR vice versa]. The affidavit should be signed by an
appropriate authority, not below the rank of a Magistrate.

1. In order to claim tuition fee waiver based on income level, students need to produce
income certificate of both father and mother issued on or after 01.04.2025. The income
certificate should be issued by the competent Authority. In case a student is unable to
produce family income certificate (i.e. both father and mother), he/she will not be given
any tuition fee waiver. Such students need to pay the full fee at the time of admission. In
future if they produce both certificates, they will be given tuition fee waiver which will be
adjusted in next semester fee.
2. In order to avail such tuition fee waiver in subsequent years, students need to
produce income certificate of both parents (father and mother) before May of that
year considering income of previous financial year.
3. In case mother is house-wife and has no income, the student needs to submit an
affidavit from her duly attested by executive magistrate/Tahshildar, but not below
the rank of Magistrate.
Payment of balance institute fee will be done online through SBCollect portal of SBI e
payment (i.e. [Link] or GO TO
SBCOLLECT ---- SELECT EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTIONS ---- SELECT
DIRECTOR NIT ROURKELA ---- CHOSSE PAYMENT CATEGORY). Additional
fee may be payable by the students if full amount paid by the students to JOSSA -2025
will not be transferred to the institute, which will be collected from students during fee
collection for 2nd semester in December-2025.

Notes:

1. Hostel Room will be allotted on reporting to the respective Halls and students are required to
come prepared for staying in the hostel from the date of reporting since there is no time to go
 back and come again.
2. The admission process will be on First Come-First Serve basis. On a particular day the no. of
students taking admission will be limited to around 270.
3. It may so happen that fees in the different heads (including tuition fee) may be increased by the
concerned authorities. In such case, students are required to pay the increased fee in addition to
above mentioned fees.
4. Even after having Online Document Verification Certificate (ODVC), generated from Portal
after online document verification, while verifying documents at the time of physical reporting at
NIT Rourkela, if it is found that the candidate is not eligible for the allotted seat then her/his seat
allotment will be cancelled for which the candidate alone will be responsible. NIT Rourkela will
not be responsible for cancellation of allotted seat /admission due to non- fulfillment of required
eligibility criteria.
5. Any dispute arising herein will be subject to jurisdiction of Court at Rourkela.
Location:

NIT Rourkela is around 8 kms away from the railway station. Applicants may hire an auto and reach
the Institute. The approximate auto fare is Rs. 250/-.

Refund Rule:
After the last withdrawal/cancellation date of JOSSA 2025, if an admitted student cancels admission/
withdraws/leaves the institute without completing the entire programme, all fees paid including the
caution deposit will be forfeited by the institute. Mess advance may be refunded after deduction of
dues, if any. This clause is applicable even before formal registration to the 1st semester and starting of
classes.

 Institute never has any intention to restrict the freedom of the students. However, keeping in view of the
safety and security of the students the Hostel timings become important. Institute authority decided that
students are not permitted to stay outside beyond 12 O’ clock night unless otherwise permitted by the
concerned authority. However if those students who want to be outside the Hostel beyond the above
mentioned timing should realize the importance of their safety and security. It is suggested that they give
an undertaking as given below.

 All assets of the institute including the assets of the halls of residence must be maintained in good and
functional state all the time so that the beneficiaries are not deprived of the benefits. If a loss, damage or
theft by the students is detected, remedial action shall be taken immediately by the concerned authority.
The cost of repair / replacement shall be collected from the concerned students along with a service charge.
In this context, students should not be involved in such activities.

Undertaking for Hall Accommodation

10. spread garbage on common space or spoils tidiness in Halls.
11. Allow any non-hosteller in my hostel room.
12. Allow any suspended/terminated/pass-out student to stay in my room.
13. Make any noise in my room/common space.
14. Stay beyond the permitted time (12:00 PM) outside the Hall unless and until permitted.
15. Misuse potable drinking water or any other facility of Hall.
16. Use a motor bike / four wheeler inside NITR Campus unless otherwise permitted by concerned authority.
17. Use electrical appliances such as water heater, room heater, electrical cooking appliances, electric press.
The above mentioned acts are punishable; any deviation to these shall attract financial punishment and may lead to
academic disciplinary action according to Institute Disciplinary Manual.
