Examples:

CAE Writing Task 2: You have been studying at your international college for a year.
The Principal of the college has asked you to write a report about the study resources
offered to students, suggesting ways in which these resources could be improved for
next year

Introduction
The aim of this report is to evaluate the study resources available for students of the
international college and propose ways in which these services can be enhanced. The
recommendations are based on findings of a survey conducted among some students of the
college

Strengths
There is widespread agreement alternative lectures are one of the main pros of the college.
For one thing, they cover broadly areas of knowledge so you can learn about different
subjects at the same time. For another, they are completely free for pupils so no money is
required to attend such conferences.
Regarding e-learning, online textbooks are claimed to be a good way to continue studying at
a distance anywhere, as long as you are provided with internet connection.

Weaknesses
Despite the strengths mentioned, there are also some areas that require attention.
Extra-lessons for those facing more problems in specific academic subjects are failing to live
up to expectations because they are offered during the afternoon when the majority of
students have already finished school. Additionally, work-placement guides leaves a lot to be
desired. Not only do you have to bring your own equipment, but you also have to pay large
sums of money for basic classes of practical work.

Recommendations
In the light of the above, what I sugestivo asking for financial aid to other colleges in order to
meet the needs of the students. Moreover, it would be advisable to reschedule some
extra-lessons and increase the number of hours. That could enrol more teenagers in the
college and ensure development.

Introduction
The aim of this report is to describe the positive and negative aspects of two different forms
of advertising in my country, being in this case about Youtube advertisements and
commercial calls that people usually receive. Furthermore, effectiveness and suggestions
about both types of publicity will be made.

Youtube advertisements
This kind of advertisements has been gaining popularity in the last five years, where the
social network is constantly trying to improve the way of including specific commercial videos
based on the viewer interests.
In this case, there are many possibilities of creating ads where the customer could be
interested, however, some of these videos are not properly regulated by the app, so it can
result to be a scam.

Commercial calls
Nowadays, mobile phones are seen as a necessity for most of the people in the world.
Taking advantage of that, many companies have a business model based on making
telephone calls to try to sell different services that can be useful to the clients.
One advantage of commercial calls is the option to adjust the offer based on what the
customer needs. Unfortunately, the majority of people who receive these telephone calls
prefer to not being distracted and reject the offer.

Recommendations
To try to have the opportunity to increase the incomes from commercial calls, companies
should stop phoning during the weekends or lunch hours, when people are enjoying their
free time and don’t want to be disturbed.
Additionally, better control of Youtube ads can make them more customized to the people
who are watching it.

REPORT – Writing part 2

You have just finished a three-week study and work programme in an
English-speaking
country. You studied English language in the mornings and worked for a local
company
in the afternoons. The programme organiser has asked you to write a report about
your
experience. In your report, you should evaluate the programme, explaining which part
of the programme was more useful, and suggest changes you would recommend for
next year’s programme.
Write your report in 220 – 260 words.
Report on a three-week study and work programme
Introduction
The aim of this report is to give an overview of my experience in the three-week study
and work programme in London, outline the most useful parts of the aforementioned
programme and make suggestions about changes for its future implementation.
Strengths
Overall, the programme was very immersive and helpful. The speaking part of the study
programme was particularly effective and useful due to the fact that I was talking to
other people in English, involving me in all kinds of conversations. In addition, I could
practice my speaking skills at every moment, so the probabilities of improvements were
almost one hundred per cent owing to there always being someone who was correcting
me at the moment.
Regarding the work part of the programme, I worked in a local company where people
used a specific vocabulary of the field of work, so it was very useful for learning new
vocabulary. Another clear strong point of this part was the work experience that the
programme provided me.
.
Weaknesses
In general, no clear issues can be found in this programme. However, there is one area
that requires attention. In the English classes, some teachers were incapable of
resolving some questions raised by the students.
Suggestions
In light of the above, I believe that one change should be adopted. I highly recommend
that the current teachers should be better prepared, or more trained teachers should
be recruited. (240 words)

Common questions

Commercial advertising techniques vary significantly in effectiveness across different digital platforms due to audience engagement levels and platform-specific characteristics. On YouTube, advertisements are often tailored to viewers’ interests through algorithms, enhancing engagement and potentially increasing conversion rates. However, they are sometimes seen as intrusive, leading to ad fatigue if not properly regulated . In contrast, commercial calls offer personalized interaction and can adjust offers based on direct feedback from the customer, although they're increasingly viewed as intrusive and disruptive, particularly if they occur during personal time, like weekends or lunch hours . To maximize effectiveness, understanding the unique audience preferences and behaviors on each platform is crucial for advertisers .

Contemporary educational systems face several challenges in integrating technology, including unequal access to digital resources, insufficient teacher training, and resistance to change. Many schools, particularly in underserved areas, lack the infrastructure and funding necessary to implement technological advancements effectively, leading to a digital divide that exacerbates educational inequities . To overcome these challenges, educational policymakers need to prioritize investments in digital infrastructure and provide comprehensive training for educators to use technology pedagogically . Developing partnerships with tech companies can also provide schools with resources and support needed for integration. Additionally, fostering a culture that embraces innovation and change within schools can mitigate resistance and promote the creative use of technology in classrooms .

Contemporary educational systems struggle to meet the needs of modern learners primarily due to outdated curricula and limited resources, particularly in rural areas. These systems often fail to adapt quickly to the fast pace of technological change, leaving many students without the necessary tools and skills to thrive in a modern context. For example, educational platforms are being used worldwide but are impeded by financial and infrastructural limitations . Moreover, systemic issues such as insufficient teacher training and lack of investment in new technology exacerbate the problem, making it hard for educational institutions to implement necessary reforms and innovations . These systemic inadequacies result in educational experiences that do not fully engage students or meet the evolving demands of the job market .

Gaining proficiency in foreign languages can significantly impact individuals' cognitive abilities by enhancing mental flexibility, problem-solving skills, and memory. Language learning forces the brain to make connections and recognize patterns, which can lead to improved executive function. Additionally, mastering a foreign language often requires understanding cultural nuances, promoting empathy and broader worldviews. Learners become better equipped to appreciate different perspectives and ideas, fostering a more global mindset . Exposure to diverse linguistic structures also encourages creative thinking and adaptability, valuable cognitive assets in a multicultural world .

Restructuring educational programs to meet the linguistic and cultural needs of international students involves integrating more culturally-responsive teaching practices and language support structures. Programs can include tailored language classes focused on both academic English and everyday communication skills, addressing specific language barriers that international students face . Furthermore, incorporating cultural orientation sessions can prepare students for the social norms and expectations in a new country, enhancing their ability to integrate and succeed within the host culture. Offering mentorship programs that pair international students with local ones can facilitate cultural exchange and provide a support network, helping students navigate their new environment more effectively . By prioritizing inclusivity and support, restructured programs can enhance both educational outcomes and personal development for international students .

The increasing reliance on digital communication is reshaping family dynamics by influencing how family members interact and communicate. As more families choose digital means for communication, conversations that typically occurred face-to-face are now happening through screens. This can lead to both positive and negative impacts on relationships. On one hand, digital platforms provide opportunities for staying connected across distances, fostering constant communication. On the other hand, the lack of physical interaction may weaken personal bonds and lead to misunderstandings . The trend towards digitization also encourages the formation of virtual communities, which can sometimes substitute for family interactions, further altering family dynamics .

Participle clause construction plays a crucial role in enhancing the complexity and sophistication of academic writing by allowing for the condensation of information and the addition of context without complicating the main clause. By using participle clauses, writers can create more intricate sentence structures, which convey relationships between ideas more subtly than using simple, linear sentences. For instance, the clause 'Lacking motivation, many students drop out' integrates both the cause and the effect within a concise phrase, providing a higher level of detail and nuance typical of advanced writing . This technique also helps in maintaining a formal tone and can improve the academic register of the text by allowing varied sentence structures .

Technological advancement influences modern education by providing innovative tools and resources that enhance learning experiences and improve accessibility. Benefits include personalized learning through educational platforms, increased engagement via interactive multimedia, and the ability to learn remotely, which expands access to education regardless of geographic constraints . However, drawbacks include potential inequities in access to technology, as not all students have the resources or connectivity to benefit from these advancements. Additionally, there is a risk that excessive reliance on technology could undermine traditional teaching methods and reduce interpersonal interactions, which are crucial for developing social skills .

Study-abroad programs are highly effective in enhancing language proficiency and cultural competence among international students. Immersive environments enable students to practice language skills in real-world settings, often leading to significant improvements in fluency and comprehension. Being surrounded by native speakers provides constant opportunities for engagement and learning, which is often lacking in a classroom setting . Moreover, exposure to new cultures encourages cultural competence, as students learn to navigate different social norms, values, and expectations, fostering a deeper understanding and appreciation of diversity . However, the success of such programs depends on the structure and support offered, including preparation for cultural differences and language barriers, which can either enhance or hinder the overall experience .

Participle clauses enhance argumentative writing in essays and reports by allowing writers to convey complex ideas efficiently and elegantly. In advanced academic contexts, these clauses facilitate the inclusion of additional information without disrupting the flow of the main argument. They provide a means to express cause, reason, and condition in a condensed form, making the writing more sophisticated while avoiding the overuse of conjunctions like 'because' or 'since'. For instance, 'Faced with limited funding, many institutions are unable to innovate' succinctly explains a cause and effect relationship that supports an argument . This technique not only enriches the text but also demonstrates a high level of linguistic proficiency, which can be particularly persuasive in academic and professional discourse .
